I was looking for an oak worktop, and came across this company online. Checked out the website which was so easy to view.
Loved the ability to detail the optional extra’s on a technical sheet which allowed me to specify unique requirements.
Communications from the company were fantastic and the product was delivered as expected.
The worktop is fantastic and has made a real difference in the room.
Very impressed and would recommend to anyone.

I really wanted to like House of Worktops, but it was a disappointing experience. They need a relook at some elements and processes, and the products aren't up to standard.

They were relatively reasonably priced and like other people, I saw the great Trustpilot reviews. The process started off well, I put an order in for samples and was contacted pretty much straight away with a call to chat through my requirements. The woman here was lovely and I could ask all the questions I needed answering.

However, once I put the order through it was downhill from here. There were two options for what appeared to be the same product on their website - ultimately they were not. I attempted to clarify the difference over live chat, who didn't know, and then by email, where I was lead to believe that the two products (that I'd also sent over by screenshot for clarity) were the same.

I followed up this by putting this in the order notes just to be sure. And some days later, I received a call that the order notes hadn't gone through at manufacturing stage, but that the finishing team had picked it up and the wood finish I thought I was getting hadn't been applied. The woman on the phone from that team was incredibly difficult to talk to, and kept trying to argue that it was my fault over and over again. Now I didn't agree as from my perspective, the emails stated the products were the same, but didn't argue back or raise my voice at all even though the way she was speaking to me was upsetting. However regardless of fault, I really didn't need to deal with any unpleasantness or finger pointing and it wasn't productive at all. She didn't bring any resolution forward so I had to ask at this stage, what can be done to resolve this? To her credit, she said they would coat it with oil and that the fee would be waived this time, which was a satisfactory end to a horribly handled call.

The delivery time and tracking was great, BUT I received a dirty cling film wrapped piece of wood with zero other protection from the back of a van.

Of course on unwrapping I saw the extent of the damage, which wasn't just from the van.

There was a huge dent in one of the corners, so it was no longer square. There was a strange dark brown mark on the pale wood that wasn't the grain and stuck out horribly. The sides were really badly chipped all the way down, and the product didn't appear to be oiled after all that. These weren't minor issues, this was a majorly sub-par product that had been sent out. It didn't match the look or quality of the sample at all.

I couldn't use this product and frustratingly had to cancel the fitter. I contacted House of Worktops straight away and after a week they responded to me. A week later they had collected the product, and a further week after I had received a refund.

Overall this has been a complete waste of about a month of my time.

All I wanted was a small piece of wood that looked half decent, with properly finished square edges. I have now chosen a more local company for this - even though it costs slightly more - as it's not worth the stress.

Update: HoW called straight away after the issues and this review with what felt like a genuine apology and goodwill offer which I did appreciate. I didn’t take them up on this as it wasn’t particularly significant or relevant for me, and I didn’t want it to colour my review here as these issues shouldn’t have happened in the first place. However I see they're taking steps to address these types of complaints which is a refreshing approach to business and hope if improvements were made I may be able to shop with them again in the far future.

When I ordered I was given a date of 2nd September on the website and by a customer service agent, which was great as I have installers in ready to fit. I called up today as I hadn't heard any information about delivery they told me it will be delivered next Wednesday. Not sure what to do now they have let me down and caused lots of extra stress

We were looking for an oak breafast bar and this was the perfect size. Nice quality at a good price, delivered as advised by friendly couple. I opted for the extra oiling and edge rounding services. The former is yet to be tested, the latter is is quite a subtle, more just a blunting of the edge, but it's fine.

Ramya was very helpful - pity that unfortunately the company does not deliver "to the wild north", just outside Stirling.

Although we were sent some samples which were useful for the seeing the colour and finish, due to their size, they did not show the complete pattern on the worktop. A visit to there site was needed and with help from the friendly staff, we found the most suitable design.
The cutting service worked to my sketch and dimensions
for overall size, sink cut out, tap hole and upstands. All perfectly done.
Overall, an excellent service and product.

Information all the way. Great product

1. Easy to select and order
2. They didn't tell me that they only deliver to my area on Tuesdays on ordering-would be very useful to know this as they wouldn't deliver on the days I requested?
3. They don't give you time to check the worktops before leaving. One worktop had a number of faults, so we had to wait a week for a replacement which on unwrapping was warped, but we had to use it anyway.
*In summary, they could easily improve their service, especially by checking the quality prior to delivery!

Quick delivery, only 2 days from order! Great communication and just what we wanted.

Very easy ordering process, followed by helpful communication. And most importantly the worktops look stunning.
Will definitely use again.

From ordering to delivery went smoothly. Unfortunately we didn't check the upstands and when the fitter was here he noticed a small piece that was damaged. However he managed to worked around it. Very pleased, especially with the samples.

We haven't yet purchased our worktops just yet but the service so far has been great! I've been speaking with Ramya in particular as we're going to be ordering the walnut worktops for our office desks. Ramya was absolutely amazing with the information regarding custom cuttings, the prices, options etc. Extremely helpful and it's made us super excited to order from house of worktops!
