I only used this service because I was Obligated by our wise IRS department. They wouldn't accept my state issued ID. I was on a trip when this curve ball was thrown and it delayed the filing of my Fed tax return causing new issues with IRS.

It has made it easy for me to sign in to my accounts. Never had issues with signing in ever again

ID me, makes it extremely convenient to be able to get done when I need to get done in regards to my military background and a number of other things. A++

The site asks for more private information than necessary, plus it's a pain in the you know what to gather ID and upload, plus take selfies. If you say you don't want your information shared, you can't get in. WTH? So you must agree to share, leaving you to feel like your privacy is completely breached. Treasury Direct was one of the best sites I ever used, now I'm not feeling trustful at all. But you're forced to sign up if you want to access your Treasury Direct account. This is a privately owned company backed by the top CEOS and making $ off it. I'm not even convinced it's legal. Read some of the other reviews. Big brother is watching you.

Slow, interrupted, hard to hear. Video calls to Google Meet timed out over and over again. Was a complete and unnecessary hassle from beginning to end. Instructions were incomplete so that you had to worry about a time out while going to collect items you were told you would not need.

It is a website that does not work very well. And continues to ask very highly personal information. In an unsecure way, even though I was willing to complete it, all, the system itself didn't even work. So I still have not been able to accomplish my goals. Because the government isn' wants more information, then I have to ask and are able to provide, in fact, it's not even our government.This website is owned by someone overseas, so the people that are verifying us for legal purposes are not even legal to do so.Here in united states.

Feel violated. Is this a DOGE thing?

I had to upload the front and back of my driver's license and upload a selfie. I was forced to sign up for an id.me account. Otherwise, I couldn't access my Treasury Direct account. Now, I have to trust this company to keep my information secure.

Logging in was difficult and took multiple attempts. The take photo button opened the camera, but did not work correctly. The screen would go blank would not process the photo taken. Then, I had to log in and try again. It never worked so I eventually took photos before logging in (again) and then uploaded them.

I do not trust ID.me. The experience of setting up my ID.me service was not too complicated, but it requested personal information that I should not be required to release to a private for-profit corporation. I question is why the Treasury dept is requiring that I do this and why they are using a PRIVATE company to do this. This company is unacceptably aligned with the Trump administration that has allowed other private companies (such as Elon Musk's companies) to access and link vast amounts of private information. The Treasury Dept have invaded my privacy by requiring me to use this company's poorly secured data servers.

Difficult, cumbersome and confusing. Why is this the new government standard. Anyone without a computer background and lots of patience will be totally lost, especially senior citizens.
