A sticking point appears to be getting a selfie to match the photos on my DL and/or Passport. My DL photo and my Passport photo don't really closely match so i would not expect a selfie (using really weird software) would not match. Which then creates a verification problem. And yet facial recognition works very well when we travel. Why, why, why was this system created.

Complete dog water. Difficult to use. Not compatible with common devices & browsers and it doesn't tell you that until you're halfway through the process. This would be completely impossible to use if I didn't have a tablet in addition to my phone. Not everyone has multiple devices they can switch between, so I guess they're just out of luck. If they haven't properly thought through a simple log in process, why would I trust them to keep my data secure?

The site was easy to use the instructions were easy to follow.

Horrible software.
just as one example of the many problems I had, it wouldn't accept my cell phone number, but it would accept my landline number. But then it would only send a text to my landline which doesn't work.
Forget trying to change the phone number. They have no method to edit a phone number once it's entered.
The programers for this system should all be fired.

I'm not sure why I needed a "wallet" on ID.me if I am just trying to sign in to view my account. Process wasn't clear, at all.
Went all the way through to uploading my ID then it told me I needed to be on a different browser. Did that, muddled through for about 30 minutes to get back to the place I was. Thought I would need to resend my ID but it didn't ask for it again. Instead it went to facial ID. No lead in to what all would be involved. It was a surprise and not real clear why it was needed if you have my ID? What happened to the pictures of my ID that I loaded on a browser that the program wouldn't accept? Also, FYI - The facial thing in no way can be described as a "Video Selfie" There is no warning or option to opt out. All around a really crappy, unnecessarily confusing, and cumbersome process. It is made to be way more more difficult than is needed. 4 thumbs down, negative 5 stars, I do not recommend!

Don't use it. It's time consuming and not worth the security they provide. Complete waste of time.

It takes much more time to register than expected so plan accordingly. The site gives me the impression that the low bidder won the government contract, not necessarily the most competent. Clunky to use and some of the guidance is unhelpful. You have to give so much personal data that I fear that a private company could abuse it, and a data breach could be disastrous for subscribers and the government. I hope there is adequate, competent security oversight on the operations of this company.

I have no cell phone experience, so the process needed to be explicit. The instructions assumed the recipient had technical knowledge.

Absolutely shameful operation. They will inevitably get hacked and all the personal info will be exposed. Other similar providers have already been breached. The fact that the government uses them is unbelievable. It's only a matter of time.

Absolute nightmare to get into the platform. Downloaded everything and It would have been nice to know that the video was not going to be on my phone. They tried to do it on my PC which is not video or sound capable. I finally got it done on my phone but it took an hour just to wade through the process.

Once you read the instructions. Layer of security helps also.Able to sign in to medicare.

Be prepared for the sign up process to take longer than you would expect. The site does not tell you ahead of time which documents you will need.

Horrible process that took over an hour. The instructions were dreadful. I ended up having to get an AI to help me figure out how to change multiple phone settings to get the sign-up to work. The frustration caused me to use words that very seldom come out of my mouth. I am permanently annoyed about it.

I've read the reviews and yes it's difficult especially for some seniors; but, if you just take your time and follow the directions COMPLETELY you will have success. This software is to protect YOU!

Great site - user friendly and efficient

Terrible process, particularly trying to get assistance after the required selfie kept getting rejected. Very long wait times for a video chat with a tech - when i finally connected, she told me she couldn’t help - I’d have to go back to the automated assistance. When I went back, the announced wait time was about 15 minutes - but after 10 minutes of holding on, that estimate changed to 40! That’s when I bailed.

all the complaints are correct and have not been addressed by the company's that coned the US govt in to using this wide open ripe for abuse on this site
HOW to petition to be removed from this site
the Flood of email's that signing up for this site from the Treasury has been enormous
why the Treasury picked this vendor is beyond me.
my email has been flooded with ads and junk mail and ads leads me to understand the Treasury is not secure.

how to get out of this and secure my banking info?

I found it very easy to go through process and safe with many security checks involved. Dealing with govt offices makes it alot easier and it can be used in many addition circumstances.
