Great site - user friendly and efficient

Terrible process, particularly trying to get assistance after the required selfie kept getting rejected. Very long wait times for a video chat with a tech - when i finally connected, she told me she couldn’t help - I’d have to go back to the automated assistance. When I went back, the announced wait time was about 15 minutes - but after 10 minutes of holding on, that estimate changed to 40! That’s when I bailed.

the Flood of email's that signing up for this site from the Treasury has been enormous
why the Treasury picked this vendor is beyond me.
my email has been flooded with ads and junk mail and ads leads me to understand the Treasury is not secure.

how to get out of this and secure my banking info?

I found it very easy to go through process and safe with many security checks involved. Dealing with govt offices makes it alot easier and it can be used in many addition circumstances.

VERY "USER FRIENDLY"! Did not take long and easy uploading required DL and face recognition. Smooth Process!

No waiting

This ID method assumes everybody is high tech phone savvy with a newer style phone. Many senior citizens, like myself, are not, and will be completely baffled about this high tech phone stuff.

I really want to say more about this, but the whole experience was just horrible. I don't want to put all my information out there at all, and then this thing wants me to give it all of my information. I don't like it.

The id.me website is not responsive in human time - parts run too quickly to catch.
The document uploading procedure is OK, but not great.

Be patient and persistent. Once in, the connection and ability to connect with your VA provider is great, and that applies to provider responses. The ability to attach docs worked very well. Even switching between my desktop and android was seamless .

It was easy enough to establish an account and to proceed filling in the necessary prrsonal information required.

We're with others who don't appreciate being forced to give biometric and sensitive data to a private company in order to access Treasury Direct (a company that made big donation to Trump inaugural). There is a petition against forcing people to use ID.me at change.org , and at least one lawsuit. Treasury Direct has a statement saying that ID.me is a separate, non-government entity over which it has no control, including how ID.me handles your sensitive data!! ID.me gives little info on how they are using/storing/protecting our sensitive information from data breaches and abuse! On top of all that, apparently ID.me keeps your sensitive data for 3 years after you close your account! Furthermore, if you choose not to sign up for ID.me, you could end up not having timely access to the 1099 you need for filing taxes. For us, this outrageous debacle means no more buying bonds/treasuries on Treasury Direct.

They collect hundreds of millions of dollars of tax dollars and put people on hold for an hour or more. They can tell you one thing and you find out that is not working that way. Another example of how government is the worst way to try and get something done. Maybe we need Nick Shirley on the job?

Awful. Don't use unless you absolutely have to. Set aside up to an hour to get set up.

ID.me was easy to use and once successful you can access your Social Security, Tbill and other apps easily.
I would recommend it for all.

Found the entire process very lengthy and time consuming. Do not plan on doing anything but waiting for an enormous amount of time to most likely not even be able to obtain what you needed verified to obtain.

First, I was on hold for three days with no answer.
Second, the instructions are too hard to follow.

1.5 hours waiting for assistance. Third time trying- I kept getting booted off the wait line for help. Very poor tech assistance once I got someone. I figured out the problem myself- horrible experience

Totally out of my realm when it comes to computers. Took me over an hr just to figure out things because it kept expiring before I could figure out the next step. Very stressful. Plus dont really think think this survey is going to help anybody because it is what it is in this computer world. I'll get one of my grandkids to help me next time
