They charged me a lot of money to do my state return. Now I get a letter saying it was audited and I owe 24 more dollars. This is why I went to a professional. I'm supposed to go all the way back to their office to fix it. What are they going to fix.

I went to Walmart to have my taxes done by Jackson Hewitt. It cost me $75 February 17th. 2026 guess what they screwed up. I don't get my $75 back and I've been waiting 2 months now for my income tax return to find out they didn't even send the paperwork in. This is supposed to be a reputable company. I would not use these people ever again. I will go back to the person I was with before. At least they knew what they were doing. I would say the people who are doing the taxes in Jackson Hewitt businesses should go back to school because their service sucks very

If I could have zero stars I would choose that. Very unprofessional, too difficult to communicate with. They will not return calls. I paid for the tax service at the time and then they hit me refund for the amount and an additional fee for using my return to pay for the services despite the fact that I already paid. Now it’s a nightmare to even talk to anyone. I can not recommend them to anyone unless you want to be scammed and no communication

Sr. Tax Preparer Melina Martin was one of the most professional and well organized employees I’ve probably ever met in Fenton Mo. Thank you for your assistance and we look forward to seeing you next year. You deserve a raise lol.

We got a call said come in and sign your taxes, we’re open till 6p! Stopped in the next day, and we were told we need an appointment. To which we have never had to have an appointment. The one and only preparer was on the phone doing nothing, and she told us we needed an appointment! And they charged us double to prepare our taxes, than last year. Always had a professional experience with this office, but Jaunita retired and the service has went out the window. Next year, we will go elsewhere!

This was at the kiosk in Walmart at Trussville. It was the worst experience. The manager at the Parkway East and John Hawkins Parkway office is rude and a bully. Once I paid no one cared that I had concerns. If I worked for that company I would quit. The manager basically called me stupid and everything was my problem now because I signed and paid my money. Their client care agents don't care about clients they blame everything on local offices and the local office blames everything on corporate. I would not allow Jackson Hewitt to fill out my dog's income tax. The district manager will not return a call or either his people is not letting him know that he has unhappy customers. I am sending an email to Alabama attorney general and the BBB. Not sure if it will make a difference but I told them that I was going to let all of Alabama know how they treat people and maybe people would pick a better choice to have their taxes filled out next year.

This is the sixth year I have had my taxes done with Jackson Hewitt at Walmart on Route 9 in Old Bridge, NJ. and it won’t be the last. I have always been very satisfied with the preparers and the service. This year was no exception. Laverne Williams did an excellent job. She was very helpful, patient, and friendly. I will definitely return to Jackson Hewitt next year and I would be pleased to work with Ms. Williams again.

My first time doing my taxes I had people recommend me to Jackson Hewitt and from the start all they asked for was my son social security and my id they made a mistake on the paper work now I have to send proof my son is mine tried calling to see if they can help just for them to tell me I have to do that on my own when i payed them from the start to do my taxes If I would’ve known it was gonna be like this I would’ve jus tried doing them on my own online bu because their the professionals I went to them the ones that I went to look like straight tweakers and now I’m not gonna receive my state refund 23 hundred thrown away 🤦🏽‍♂️ PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THEM GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !

Bad tax place no good

When i noticed some information wasn't correct i called, text, and left a couple of other voicemail. Called the next day and was told a message was left for tax preparer and they would call me back. Still got no call back. Then spoke to Kim. She offered to review and fix taxes. Each time money was discussed the amount changed, even though the $149.00 was still advertised. I was told since I was a senior i should get that rate. $174.00. Reginald quoted somewhere around $221.00. When I went to finally complete my taxes it was $368.00. Much higher. I was told because it cost to prepare the documents? All I want is to see my tax copy corrected. Can't use this service again. It's much higher than advertised. Not good.

Thieves and scammers beware of this tax company

Don’t go here ! They will never tell you how much they will charge you until the end . I used to pay 145 with a different tax preparer . They charged us 815.00 to file I did all the work adding the numbers and organizing they scanned it and entered it in . Do not do not save your money and go somewhere else . Call the manager to complain about the crazy price . They said they can’t give a quote they don’t know what the charge will be until everything is done . But she also telling me the binder in front her and everything submitted fall under an advanced package .. and also if you have a kid to report that’s premium packages . I feel it’s a little ridiculous not to be upfront with people . And feeling like you don’t have an option to opt out before signing documents. I will be making a report to complaints department and at the very least requesting a huge discount .

Terrible been sitting over an hour now from my scheduled appointment. Ridiculous, I came 10 mins early still sitting here hour twenty later. They should stop making appointments

I was scheduled to get my taxes done thru Jackson Hewitt. My appointment was scheduled for 1:00. I waited an hour and nobody ever showed up. DONT ISE THESE PEOPLE TO GET YOUR TAXES DONE!!!

This place has the most incompetent employees I’ve ever come across across, it took the lady doing my return over three and a half hours, only to do it incorrectly with tons of mistakes and wrong ssn, then I had a new appointment and all she did was complain, and call around looking for help, please stay away from this place, I paid 140.00 for garbage work and it screwed up my taxes bad.

Not transparent and bad customer service. It was may more expensive that initially advertised and the person who did mine was rude and didn’t speak great English. I had an emergency where daughter got off the bus early and I had ri pick her up. The representative refused to let me go and made me feel stupid for having an emergency come up

They made a mistake on my tax return. It took them more than 3 years to do the paperwork to fix their mistake. ( I repeatedly asked for them to do the paperwork to fix it) When they finally did the paperwork, the state said it was past the deadline and they would not give me the refund. The manager had me fill out the paperwork to file a claim, so the company would pay the claim, due to it was their error. I submitted it back to her. That was over a year ago. They still have done nothing and the manager won't talk to me on the phone. I have tried calling their corporate line and am told, no one can help me, except for the 1 manager,. Who won't return my calls.😡

Never use this COMPANY. THEY DON'T care about the people they serve. I went to them for my 2024 Tax Return. The return the submitted got rejected and they never let me know about it. I only found out in 2026 when I filed my 2025 return. When I called them to tell them this they hung up on me and have since been giving me trouble. I WOULD NEVER use them again. They simply don't care about your taxes and don't respect their customers. Turbo Tax is a much better alternative. I had not trouble using Turbo Tax this year. I would highly recommend using Turbo Tax.

The tax preparer herself, lovely. No complaints regarding her BUT I had one W-2 form, nothing else to complicate my tax situation and they wanted to charge $636?!! Insane. They don’t even tell you anything prior to coming to your appointment. No cost estimate, not what you should bring… luckily I had what was needed but still. They get you there and then just hope you’ll say okay to the $636. No thank you!

First and foremost, you're too damn expensive. Agent was great. I will not ever pay what I paid this time. Wasn't that much last time. $195 ???? You're ripping people off. You suck
