Manager Marlon is truly exceptional. On only our second visit, he already remembered us as returning guests and even recalled that we love having napkins placed on the table — such a thoughtful detail that made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued.

Chef Jason was equally outstanding. We ordered the chicken and pork ribs, and both were absolutely delicious. Chicken can often turn out dry, but the chicken Chef Jason prepared was perfect — incredibly juicy, with a wonderfully bouncy texture. The pork ribs were excellent as always: tender, flavorful, and the meat fell right off the bone.

A fantastic dining experience all around. Thank you, Marlon and Jason, for your amazing service and cooking!

Went to the Balmoral Inn Beefeater near Rownhams, Southampton, on Saturday 14th, had a lovely meal with my family, the staff was very welcoming and you could see everyone was working hard to make sure the guests were having a nice time, well done and thank you x

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding our experience at the Mill House on the 14th, which I had pre-booked well in advance for a special 70th Birthday celebration.

We specifically requested a table for six in the conservatory area, as my husband prefers to sit there. Upon our arrival, we were indeed taken to a table in the conservatory, only to be told shortly after that we could not have that table as it had been reserved for a party of eight. This was extremely frustrating, especially since I had booked this table well in advance. We were on the verge of leaving when my son suggested we stay to avoid upsetting his Dad further, as finding another reservation at that moment would have been challenging.

The gentleman who communicated this to us, whom I was informed is the new manager, displayed a complete lack of customer service. He did not offer any apologies, complimentary drinks, or starters to make up for the inconvenience. As loyal customers who visit frequently, we found this behaviour entirely unacceptable.

To add to our frustration, I later checked the table that was supposedly reserved for eight people, and there were only six individuals seated there. When I pointed this out, the manager claimed that two people had left, which seemed implausible.

I hope you understand our disappointment and frustration. We value the Mill House and have always enjoyed our visits, but this experience has left a sour taste and will not return.

7 of us booked a table within 15 minutes of our arrival.

We greeted very promptly and courteously by a young man not in uniform.
The staff were very helpful, attentive & once they knew my wife had Young-Onset Dementia they could not be more helpful.
Although we were having such a great time, they kept us informed of how far our meals were & our food arrived very promptly as promised.

The team delivered what was promised on the menu & topped it with exceptional service.
The 2 hours we spent in their hospitality were memorable & gone so quickly while we had only a main course with plenty of conversation & laughter.
The team in the kitchen on the Friday evening 13/2 were exceptional in producing 7 meals amongst many many others of such quality & on time.
I could see only 3 of them as I thanked ‘em on our way out (around 20:00) & the restaurant was getting very busy.

Friday 13th Visited for a quick lunch. The food was great as always. Never had bad meal. The servers are the reason we keep coming back though. Charlotte is friendly and effiecient. Even when today the restaurant was very busy nothing was too much trouble and there was no waiting for service. Always a good experience.

I wasn't expecting much to be honest when my friend suggested a Beefeater in Salford as I hadn't been to one in an absolute age and didn't particularly like my experiences back then!
However we had the most wonderful waitress (Jackie) she couldn't have been more welcoming friendly and helpful, she's an absolute credit to beefeater as a company!
The food was equally as good which is the part that shocked me the most by how much they've changed, the food was really good we had a sirloin and ribeye stake
Which were both extremely good, well presented and hot!
We will definitely be going back and fingers crossed the experience will be as good as this one!
Definitely recommend it!

Went to the one in Nottingham tonight not impressed at all. Our waitress was miserable had dirty finger nails. Most of the meals were covered.in grwase or garlic butter very very poor meal sis t wven want to give it one star. My husband left most of his mixed grill chicken tasteless and dry, steak chewy as a old boot sausages a weird taste peas like bullets. My fish was dry and greasy sons girlfriend's chicken was dry and like a kids portion. My desert came the plate was filty asked if the plate was dirty the waitress with the dirty finger nails came back gave it a wipe with her hands and said it's just probably my finger marks absolutely disgusting knew we was not happy but did nothing. Went to pay and left me standing there while she said give me a minute but went to clear a table. Not a good experience at all £150 chucked down the drain. this place used to be really good. And the premier inn next door don't get me started on that

We visited the Beefeater Redditch. A waitress called Corrine served us and made the whole experience wounderful. Polite professional and went the extra mile. Fantastic service

Had cause to pay Bentley Green Beefeater a visit on Thursday 29/1/2026 for lunch and unfortunately was on the whole very disappointed The pub itself could do with a lick of paint and a bit of a upgrade generally but was hoping our forth coming meal might make up for it’s previously stated shortcomings In short the answer was NO Meal it self was average ,very average Meagre portions and a derisory £5 charge for an additional bowl of warm chips We voiced our concern and was met with a stern “ don’t blame me “ type of answer It got worse when we had the bill and was bemused to see drinks we had not ordered and this £5 pound charge for luck warm chips However on our insistence this was remedied and all turned out well in the end The reason why I found it necessary to put my experience on this site is just to others check your bill carefully at Bentley Green Shall we come back I don’t think so

Beefeater Ware
Have not been to the beefeater for absolutely years for dinner. We went out last night and ordered 2 mains and 2 drinks , the half rack of rib and chicken combo and ordered lasagna.When it came out they were small portions. The chicken used to be a chicken breast and now it’s a slice of grilled chicken breast. The ribs ( well you don’t get much meat on ribs ) were smaller. A handful of chips and 2 pieces of chopped up sweetcorn ( not actually sure if this was just for garnish as it was so small).
The lasagna was like a kids portion… it was about the size of half a slice of bread swimming in tomato sauce. Small bowl of salad and 2 baguette size slices of garlic bread.
Disappointing. The food isn’t cheap in there and not worth what you get.
Service is t great either.. I ordered a refillable soft drink, when I asked for a refill had to wait ages and asked 2 members of staff where it was.. Time it arrived I had finished my dinner.
Overall the food tasted good but for £60 odd amount just didn’t feel worth it.

Ordered an amazing dish of steak and chips. Quick and polite service. Would highly recommend!

Having bypassed the eureka one to go to the Woolpack at Hothfield.is well worth the extra few minutes drive .

The food was delicious, but the service experience was disappointing. We were told there were no tables available, even though 70-80% of the restaurant was empty. We had to wait nearly an hour to be seated, and when we asked why, the staff explained they were short-handed. We are understanding people, but we would have appreciated honesty from the start. Even with fewer waiters, we could have been seated to have a drink or two while waiting to order food. Honesty goes a long way.

Beefeater - Liberty Bell Romford

Staff were lovely , just not enough of them for the amount of people dining. Service was incredibly slow because of this waiting just under an hour for the meal. This is the 2nd time dining here but the exact same problem. Please hire more staff ❤️ I love your food but hate the wait

Waited 45 mins to be served.

Served a lip stick covered glass which was sent back.

Main steak meal when presented was sent back as cold so another 50 minutes to wait which by that time everyone else had finished their meals and they had to sit and wait with empty plates.

Staff were polite but experience was poor disjointined and expensive for what is classified as a night out or family meal.

We received one dessert FOC

TBH looking back I should have asked for the mains and drinks on the house for such poor hygiene and quality. I know they can do better or I hope they can.

We ate at The Foxburrow, Lowestoft on Boxing Day, it was probably the worst meal we’ve had there.it was dreadful, we eat there regularly and have been going on Boxing Day for the last 20+ years. We don’t think we are going to book this year and we haven’t been going no where near as much as usual. It’s such a shame because it’s a nice restaurant and the staff are so nice. But the food has gone down hill.

We have eaten at the Beefeater many times, and I used to enjoy the mixed grill. It used to be so large that on some occasions I even took the portion of chicken home as it was too filling. Not any more, the piece of chicken was half the size, the gammon had a thick layer of fat round the outside edge, the sausages were undercooked and the steak was so tough it was inedible. On the plus side, the chips, eggs and peas were O.K. We also had nachos as a starter and that was much smaller than it used to be. Not only was the mixed grill very disappointing but they have put the price up to over £22. I spoke to the duty manager as we left and he said "yes we have had some poor quality steaks recently, I will pass the message on".
