My partner and I had the displeasure of meeting Gemma at the Red Lion Beefeater Blackpool on the 12/10/2025.

I normally go here every year when I go to Blackpool for the illuminations and have never previously booked and just gone straight in and their meals are always hot and the service is excellent. They had an offer of buy 1 get 1 free.

We got there at 7.45pm and a party of 4 ( The Rowlands) pushed in front of us and then the 'delightful' Gemma informed us that as we had no booking, they were not taking in any more customers that night without one.

We explained that we had walked from the Bispham tram stop, about a 20 minute walk in the cold and looking around there were loads of empty tables.

She said we're short staffed and there was nothing they could do for us. There was no mention of this on the doors or at the reception area.

So I went outside and booked a table on their app for 8.15pm and went back in and she told me that the waiting time was over an hour !!

So we gave up and I thought her attitude towards 2 Oap's was disgraceful & very unprofessional and she was getting very aggressive towards us, and in my opinion lacked any customer skills.

I then wrote a letter of complaint and as expected, they were full of 'bog standard' apologies and they would do some staff training etc.

The icing on the cake was the following day, when I had an email asking how my meal and experience was, which was quite laughable as we didn’t eat there !!

So Beefeater, not only did we used to eat here, but in other Beefeaters around the country on a frequent basis and guess what....we won't ever eat in a Beefeater again.

Awful experience and I would have given this Beefeater a zero rating if I could have had.

Went for a meal for 4 at about 5pm.
We went the week before and it was excellent service and the steak was delicious, wanted medium cooked, cooked to perfection.
We went again a week later. Shouldn't of bothered.
The steak was cold, over cooked .
One of the other meals was a burger with crispy onions and also payed extra for an egg with it.
The burger came out without an egg, so that took a while to come out, then we noticed there were no crispy onions on it. I looked over at the pass where they were cooking and I could see the chef laugh as he also forgot the crispy onions, so he took them out of the fridge and were given to us in a bowl and they were freezing cold. If you think this is acceptable !!!!! I don't.
We had 40% discount for our meals , should of been 60%.
We won't be going back there again.

We enjoyed a family meal at The Longbow at Llantrisant. The food was as expected but the service from Amando was excellent. He was very attentive and wonderfully polite. Thank you.

Poor rude service, filthy tables, broken and soiled furniture with over cooked tasteless food. Wellington Beefeater has hit an all time low. I spend thousands each year staying at Premier Inn"s delivering contracts around the country Premier Inn has slowly gone down hill and this has to be worst. No more, I have pulled out halfway through one stay, cancelled my next and cancelled the company contract to use premier inns.

Eight of us Visited Mill house Beefeater in Surrey yesterday and had the worst value for food ever, £20 for a roast and even though we purchased unlimited Potatoes and Yorkshire pud you had to ask for them and took 10 minutes to come, gravy was so thin I thought I was in the film OLIVER, The Meat was thinner than Twiggy, We only went their cos the TOBY was fully booked

Sunday lunch, booked for 1.30pm. They had run out of roast dinners. We ordered from the menu instead and the food came an hour later. It was sub standard. We all had different and all said the same. Pricey for reheated microwave stuff. Won't return.

I visited the Beefeater in Woolwich with my family and was completely embarrassed to have suggested it as a place for us to eat together. The entire experience was dreadful from start to finish.

The food was incredibly disappointing — poorly cooked, burnt in parts, and several items were missing from our order. These missing items only arrived when most of us had nearly finished eating. I had to send my entire meal back due to how overcooked and inedible it was. Although they replaced it, there really wasn’t any other option. By the time my new meal arrived, my family had already finished theirs. The replacement dish was slightly better but still nowhere near acceptable for the price.

The manager initially seemed friendly and apologetic, but things quickly went downhill. When it came time to pay, one of the waitresses became extremely rude and patronising when I gave honest feedback about the poor food and service. I asked to speak to the manager again after paying, and although he acknowledged the issues and took some responsibility, his response was disappointing. He mentioned that he had replaced my meal (which was the bare minimum) and that he had also given a free glass of wine — but oddly, this was given to one of the guests who wasn’t even eating, not to me, the person who had complained, and I don’t even drink alcohol!

To be fair, a few of the staff members were polite and looked genuinely embarrassed by what had happened, but that doesn’t make up for the terrible overall experience.

After today, I will never return to this Beefeater, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before booking a table here. The food quality, service, and management response were all well below standard. This visit completely ruined what should have been a nice family meal.

I call in to the beefeater in Halifax for my breakfast after the gym right opposite,not sure why you can't find the specific beefeater on here in question? The breakfast is always good for me and plentyful, I have my poached eggs and the rest continental. Always fresh juices, coffee and fruit and yogurt and sets me up for a few hours. I want to give a shout out to Sam the waitress and Jen who are always lovely and cheery, they both have a nice attitude towards customers and very attentive, they make the experience worth while even though it's just breakfast so if management do see these reviews they need to recognise good staff.

Tonight I been to Beefeater Paignton White Rock. The food is good as well as waitress Chloe M. She has very good service mind, very polite and look after every table in her area well

We go to the Beefeater in Swanley most Saturdays and always have a 5* experience. Tia & Leah are always so friendly and helpful and food is hot. There is always plenty of food out and they work tirelessly keeping the restaurant clean

Fantastic staff a really nice place to eat good taste food

I used to frequent Beefeater alot but once I moved to Mullion in Cornwall found nearest too far so was excited to hear my brother had booked us into Belgrave, Torquay Beefeater on a recent family get together and it did not disappoint. Our server Daisy-Mae was brilliant. She was really helpful with suggestions around my complicated eating abilities (due to recent op) and was friendly.
The food that arrived was cooked to perfection and delicious.

Visited the West Darby one, for the first time today, booking ahead with a promise of 25% discount on my first meal.

Good selection of ales on tap and I was seated to my table. I ordered the Sunday Roast, and was asked if I wanted extras like Cauliflower cheese?? Really? That’s not part of the meal? I declined as Beefeater meals are amongst the most expensive in the area already,

I had ordered the roast beef, which sadly was gristly as the fat had not rendered down. A sign that it’s cooked quickly and not roasted over time.

Carrots were undercooked and solid.

Cabbage ok but a little tasteless and dry.

Roast potatoes were flavoursome and crunchy. Probably the vast thing on the plate.

Yorkshire pudding was a good size but very eggy tasting.

In all the meal was ok, but not worth the price.

Finally I got the bill and asked for my 25% discount for my first order. It was a no…apparently you have to wait 48 hours for the request to be processed.

So the discount is a con. Especially, if like me, who was sadly disappointed with the meal, and will not be returning to a Beefeater to redeem any time soon.

Having had lunch with same friends of ours we had 3salmon and 1mixed grill;that was nice ,but when we ordered dessert 3guest ordered different ice creams sundae and I ordered bread and butter pudding with ice cream ,unfortunately there was 5 small hard pieces of bread with same orange sauce without any flavour the only orange was a slice on top ;in other words it was the worse bread and butter pudding I ever had ,and I know wat I am on about I am a chef not a manage that seat Behind a desk and make menus without tasting food.
Will use you again but I wont choose dessert!!!!

Went to the Foxburrow Lowestoft for a steak dinner. We hadn't been for a while because it was bad last time. A family member told us it had improved so we booked. The waitress was very polite and helpful, that's the only good thing about it. We ordered fillet steaks because last time we had chewy and grisly rump. Unfortunately the fillets were just as bad. In addition the table in the bar and restaurant were very sticky and there was what I think was a squashed chip on the floor near our table. All in all a crap experience. I wanted to complain at the time but my wife didn't want me to upset the waitress. That was your last chance Foxburrow, never again. Perhaps you should employ some cleaners to go over all the tables and have a good old clean.

This is my personal experience of beefeater at the Malta inn in Maidstone.
The service was great and was looked after by a chap called David . We couldn’t fault him , but unfortunately the fish & chips were just dripping in cooking oil , they were also placed on top of the chips so they were dripping in oil too . So hopefully someone from beefeater sees this and allow the fish to drip dry or maybe dried on something.

We had a big group booking celebrating a 80 birthday. Our waitresses Sharon and Kiara were totally brilliant.
Got us all organised and orders taken will no fuss. Service was personalised and great.

We’ve been coming here (Crewe branch) multiple times, and every visit is an absolute blast! Piter has served us on so many occasions, and he’s hands down the best – super friendly, knows his stuff, and always brings the fun vibe to the table. The service is top-notch, spot-on recommendations for food that never disappoints and the atmosphere makes you want to stay all night.

First time I have ever been here for their so-called unlimited breakfast, what a joke, firstly we waited at least 5 mins before the waiter if he even qualifies to be called that, came and showed us to our seats. He was a miserable straight away and hands us a menu and just walks off, another 5 mins passes before he comes back, we order and wait 10 mins for the food to arrive. So far 20 mins to get seated, order and receive our food.

My wife had the continental, which was just pancakes as there was nothing else there, my son and I had an English breakfast, it was alright not great but okay, I had to go and find the waiter and asked for another breakfast to be told the kitchen was closed. I said" So the unlimited breakfast is not unlimited ? " His reply was, "it is subject to availability" this is written in the tiny writing at the bottom of the menu, next he says" you could have ordered extra on your breakfast" I said "you never told us that". The entire time, he had a couldn't care less attitude. We paid £10.99 for each breakfast and £8.99 for 8 pancakes that the cook took out of a Sainsbury's packet. I feel totally ripped off.
