Worst restaurant in the country…close them all down! Premier inn/beefeaters have to be the most depressing establishments to stay in.

I gave a review previously about Beefeater in Worksop (Notts) and I have dropped my star rating by one because the breakfast food today was not hot at all. I understand how difficult it must be to maintain the heat, but everything was just warm. I didn't enjoy my breakfast for that reason. Staff are ok, but I wish they would cheer up a bit. Donna was about the friendliest there this morning. I will continue to have meals there but the breakfasts need to be looked at.

We had a family meal for ten at the Crewe Farmhouse Beefeater today and it was great. Excellent, friendly staff and the service was great. Thanks

Just been to the Ladybridge for Sunday Lunch as ever we were to late in the afternoon and the roasts were sold out but we had a great beef pie
Normally this is our favourite restaurant for Fillet Steak We always get great service and it’s always a clean and reasonably quiet I’ve noticed Beefeater getting a few bad reviews but we can honestly say this is not our experience ever after going 20/30 times around the Midlands perhaps the Ladybridge is an exception but it’s still our favourite

Having been to The Malta Inn in Maidstone before, we knew the family would receive good service and a good meal… however, we had David as our waiter today, and he was amazing! He was attentive with the children, extremely welcoming and friendly with the adults, he had excellent knowledge of the food and drink menu, and turned a good family meal into a great and memorable meal…. Thank you David, you deserve recognition and a raise!!!

It was our first visit to the Beefeater, Thomas Wyatt in Maidstone, with my partner and our 3 children. She was very kind and compassionate with us all, she made us all feel very welcome.
She was very attentive to the children especially with our youngest child. Making them laugh and feel looked after and comfortable.
Thank you for being so lovely and taking the time to look after us and truly care. How you are makes a difference.

Beefeater Lowerstoft is without doubt the worst experience of customer service I have ever experienced.
We stayed at the Premier Inn and looked forward to the Beefeater experience! All meals were good except for my Mixed grill steak which was seposed be cooked medium.i couldnt even cut it with the supplied steak knife! I had to leave a whole steak!
As everyone else's dinner was good and the waitress service was excellent I even left a tip( The bill was adjusted for the steak)
The second night of our stay the waitress service was excellent but the kitchen staff had a problem reading the order and two of the starters turned up incorrect, one was corrected quickly, mine failed to turn up until everyone else had finished!I watched the kitchen staff showing no urgency on orders on a quiet evening compared to the night before.
It spoil a family break, I lost my appetite, and will not use this Beefeater again

Awful service on a Sunday night. Barely anybody in, loads of staff, but over 90 minutes to get one meal out. Most of the staff hiding wiping tables that hadn’t even been used

I had booked a table at Beefeater Lakeside, Doncaster, on 30th August, 2025 for four at 6:30pm and showed my confirmation email on arrival, yet we were asked to sit at the bar. When I questioned this, I was told there was no difference between bar seating and restaurant seating.

As a regular customer, I know this is not correct: the bar is self-service while the restaurant provides table service. When I pointed this out, I was further told that even if I sat in the restaurant, I was only entitled to self-service. This, combined with being told to find a table by myself, made it clear that service was being deliberately withheld.

Only after insisting was I seated at a table at the restaurant entrance, despite the restaurant being less than half full, and told it was the only option. I asked to sit in the raised area near the windows, where only five tables were occupied at the time, but was told staffing limited service there to five tables. Yet soon after, I witnessed new arrivals seated in that same section. This made me feel discriminated against and undervalued as a customer.

I ultimately left without dining, as I did not feel I should have to beg for a table I had already reserved.

My wife and visited today and both ordered a 'roast dinner along with a bottle of wine to share.
The wine was fine, no issues at all, but when the roast dinner came to the table it was cold...not a good start. I let the waitress know,(it wasn't her fault, but it needed to be highlighted) and she went back to the kitchen. It came back (the same meal on the same plate) 5 mins later. It had obviously been 'microwaved' and not replaced. Poor service in my opinion.
The second point I would highlight is that the 'roast beef' that was served on the plate was appalling. It was obviously the last small ends and was overcooked and an unbelievably small amount (Three small (less than 2-3cm diameter pieces) .The roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding was 'soggy' (presumably from the microwave) and the peas and carrots were tasteless. In truth the meal should never had been sent out by the kitchen. I made a complaint to the waitress and requested to see the manager...but 'he' was unavailable...however a lady, who was very understanding, attended and agreed that the whole experience was not acceptable. She said the meal would be free, and apologised, but the fact that only one of us had eaten and that the standard of meal was so poor seemed have passed the manager and kitchen staff completely by. The whole experience was in truth appalling, and the lack of the managers attendance is, in my opinion, significant ..I really don't think he even cared about it...disgraceful.

Absolutely no taste to Sunday lunch went ultimate and added large it came out like a kids portion never again

Had a table booked for 7pm, still not seated by 7.30pm. Customers were waiting for over an hour for food, we had to leave as we had to be somewhere at 9. Ridiculous, if you are short staffed, close the booking system, and dont take bookings you can't keep. On the hot pass there at least 12 plates of food for at least 25 minutes. We left. Not the first this one has let us down.

What an awful experience. Our family meal took over 2 1/2 hours to have a starter and a main course. We decided against having dessert since it was already 8:45 pm. Clearly, there are not enough staff for the number of tables booked. After two hours, when our main course finally arrived, we tried to engage with the on-duty manager, but he disputed the length of time we had waited. Then, while I was still speaking to him, he turned away and walked off.

Jason, our server, was so busy, he was literally, run off his feet; however, he was still polite, helpful and professional. Unlike his manager!!

If there is a delay or a long wait for food, the courteous and professional thing to do would be to inform the diners on arrival and let them decide if it's an acceptable time to wait. They definitely should NOT walk away while you are speaking to them! He behaved like a child, walking off in a huff. Totally unprofessional and completely unacceptable.

In these challenging times, restaurants are struggling, and the number of diners, especially regulars, is falling. The customer is spoilt for choice and can pick and choose where to eat.

On another point, the toilets are disgusting. Both the ladies' and gentlemen's need a deep clean and redecoration.

What should have been a pleasant evening out was anything but!!

Don't visit if mobility issues! Whilst staying at the premier inn next door to The Watermill Beefeater Basildon, I took my mum and dad to breakfast, when leaving it was raining, so I went out to the front to call the lift so my parents wouldn't get wet. The lift seemed locked, so I had to go and get someone from the restaurant to help.She looked at the lift and said it was broken after trying herself. in the meantime my mum fell backwards and banged her head as she fell. She was shaken and felt quite embarrassed, and then had to walk to the back of the restaurant and around to get down to the carpark. The waitress asked if I wanted to leave my details, I thought she was concerned until she said so it covers them! They should check and if the lift isn't working at least put a note to let people know. The reason I booked to stay and eat there is because it was accessible for my mum and dad who both have mobility issues, and use walking aids.

So my husband ordered a IPA at the broomside pub in Durham. The pint he was served was off and he took it back! He was offered something else and asked for a moretti and was served a Stella! The food came out my chicken salad was terrible the chicken was raw and cold my husbands steak pie was microwaved and mushy! The waitress that served the drinks had taken out food outside for a wonder even though he gave her the table number. I didn’t eat the chicken and he didn’t eat the pie so money down the drain we will not be visiting or recommending this pub again absolutely shocking food and shocking service

It was a busy evening and she regularly checked in on our table and even brought over a refil drink without us having to ask.

The one in lakeside, Doncaster is absolutely amazing, brilliant staff, customer service and fantastic foods. Just had to come online to leave a review cos I enjoyed myself with the family. 5 ⭐️ for you lot.

We visted Beafeater Filton Bristol today 25/8/25 for breakfast
The waitress names Derorah was brilliant. I ha e a mushroom allergy..She offered to have my brekkie cooked separately...although the restaurnt was very busy....She made sure I was ok and breakfast was on the way....nothing was too much trouble

We attended The Malta Inn at Allington locke for a family Sunday roast.
We were served by David who was very happy and helpful with information we required regarding allergens. Even performing a magic trick with his review card which entertained my nephew.

However (brilliant service aside) we have since found that there must of been an issue with the roast dinners as the two people in out group that ate the roast dinners are now having sickness and diarrhea. The gluten intolerant member of our group is having symptoms of a gluten reaction on top of this, even after were were assured that her beef roast was gluten free.
However, my nephew who had ribs is feeling perfectly fine. We are very disappointed as you can imagine.
Sorry Dave! You're service was definitely not reflection on this review as you were brilliant!
