MacDonald & Son Butchers Reviews

I sent a Scottish box & a couple of other things to my mum she is delighted with everything in fact she had tears of joy when she saw the things she would have eaten when she was a child in Scotland. Expertly packed a first class job thank you so much

I ordered 8 different types of meat pies. Every one was too salty. Quick delivery from DPD local, although all the ice packs had melted. Such a shame about the salt content. I won't be ordering more.

I have to agree with Karen Robinson, cooking instructions should be included with your order: for ovens, for airfryers, from chilled, from frozen.

2nd box I've had from them, always great quality, well packed and timely delivered. My only criticism, add some cooking instructions. Even a fairly seasoned cook like me, has no idea what to do with Beef Olives........and this time I have steak pies, that looked they've been precooked, so how long do I cook them for??

I placed my first order with mcdonald and sons. Amazing meat and the produce was excellent. Packaged extremely well. Delivery was quick and got to be safely.
Bobby the owner is fantastic very nice bloke.

Great products-best Scotch pies ever. And Lorne sausage. Unobtainable in Oxfordshire

Great, prompt delivery, despite me being on the other side of the country, and absolutely fantastic pies. My first order will certainly not be my last.

Quick delivery ,great packaging ,and all products very good

Great service and product. Delivery was great. 100% value. Really enjoyed everything in the package.

Excellent pies, breakfast and meat packs. Friendly helpful delivery driver aswell.

Great service the steak pies were the best we have ever had will definitely be placing another order.

A really great experience from ordering to quality of produce. I will start with only moan and that is nothing to do with McDonald and sons. The courier service dpd is diabolical I am hoping it’s more to do with the inept driver rather than the courier company. The food was top quality of particular note was the larne sausage and tatie scones. We have ordered our second box already and so look forward to its arrival.

All excellent quality well packed and enjoyed by both of us

This company just seems incapable of packing meat properly so that it arrives at the right temperature. I have had packages from other butchers which have taken longer to arrive but the ice packs are still frozen and the meat cold. Not so here, I have complained direct, had replacement orders but, while some are still acceptably cold, I have never had an order that truly fulfilled health criteria. I will not order again having just fed my dogs best sirloin steak yet again. Maybe some properly insulated, sealed bags would help. Lovely man on the phone but his packing department leaves a lot to be desired. Would have been 1 star if not for the telephone manner. Sorry.

Ohh the Lorne sausage are amazing. i will always go back for more.

amazing guys.

Excellent food fast delivery well packaged.
