They are a SCAM. New signs posted about pricing fees, not a single one stating event parking fee. Which is usually $20 in my area, and all the other parking lots have no problem putting that sign up.... Toon meer

METROPOLIS IS TERRIBLE!
Terrible parking. Overcharged me for 1 hour and 17 minutes of parking. Of course, you don’t know that until after you exit! This is a bit of a scam. Additionally, 2 vehicles ahead of us held up the line for almost 15 minutes because they had not registered to pay on entry and, of course, told the gate agent at exit that they could not pay. Right. The gate agent allowed them to exit without paying. Partially explains the exorbitant cost of parking with Metropolis…you’re paying for all the people who scam the system! I’m surprised that the city of Nashville allows Metropolis to operate.

They state “they have the right to change prices anytime “ total BS.The hell this company and its app. Don’t go in there. The place has no attendant but the operate says go talk to an attendant

Metropolis parking is a shady business
On 4/26/26 I used the parking lot in Charlotte and the restaurant I patronized provided 2.5 hour parking validation. I paid $4.49 difference using a credit card. Metropolis sent a $17.50 notice of non-payment with additional $38.32 notice fees. The two notice letters I got were different in appearance like there's no standardized form. The notices had a photo of my entry and exit from the parking lot and my plate number. When I called the number on just one of the notices 775-368-3301 the agent almost immediately waived the notice fee but that there's a non-adjustable processing fee so my total would now be $24. I immediately called 856-485-9703 which is the on the Commonwealth website that lists the restaurants that can validate parking. The agent said the validation from the restaurant didn't go through so I owed $24, the amount that was amended. When I mentioned I paid $4.49 upon exiting the lot because the validation went through, she said I'd need to submit proof of payment from the Metropolis website. In the meantime she texted me the website where I could find the proof of payment. I mentioned that Metropolis has a lot of complaints about scams and her tone changed dramatically; she couldn't get off the phone fast enough and quickly told me to download the receipt from their website that shows I paid $4.49 difference. I logged into Metropolis.io, easily found the receipt, and submitted it via text when another agent said my account has closed out.
It's creepy that as soon as I called Commonwealth Metropolis (856) 485-9703 the agent immediately knew who I was, had my full name, license plate number, home address, and amount owed from caller ID on their end. Metropolis is a nefarious business and seems to operate on sending notices, relying on some percentage of people who will make a payment with the language on the notice letter that unpaid parking will be referred to a debt collector.
If I could give less than one star
If I could give less than one star, I would. Metropolis is one of the most predatory parking apps I have EVER used. Charges for longer than you stayed, or even if you didn't stay at all. No way to contact other than a chat and they are not helpful in anyway or sense. It's highway robbery and there's no one to answer for it. Do not park here, even if it's your last resort.
If I could give 0 stars I would-They need to fix their billing issues-I want a refund
If I could give 0 stars I would. I have been double-charged and overcharged for 3 parking visits on Chicago Park District property. Yesterday at Foster Beach, I was charged $9.99 for 1 hr. Last month at the same parking lot I was charged $9.18 for 2.5 hours at Foster Beach and then 2 days later they charged me $4.06 for the same parking event for not having a license plate-which is not true-I have 1 on front and back of my car. Yesterday I was Charged$9.18 near the museum which was fine but $9.99 for 1 hour at Fister was way to much. I tried chatting online on my computer but they would not respond.
This organization processed a charge to…
This organization processed a charge to my account without prior authorization and subsequently declined my request for a refund. I advise exercising caution when engaging with their services.
This company don't deserve a start not…
This company don't deserve a star not even half cos they are scammers and stealing from us. There was a fireworks last night in Seattle at their parking called BLOCK 79 which is weekend. On the board it says weekends are $5 but cos of the fireworks this company were charging us $37 and with tax and service charge rounding it up to $45 for 24hours which is awful cos nobody was there to park for that long hours and we were there for only the fireworks 🎆. There is no option to choose for how many hours to spend which makes it pure stealing from the customers.
Broken app, criminal company
My wife frequents a high end salon that has always comped customers parking. This incompetent criminal company took over the parking garage and their app failed to work to capture the QR code to comp the parking. After signing up and giving this criminal company personal information. We will be avoiding using this companies lots and business will lose customers.
Parked by MCA Denver which gave a 2hr…
Parked by MCA Denver which gave a 2hr coupon. I parked at Metropolis for 2.12 hrs. I was charged full amount because I was over 2 hrs so the coupon doesn't work?! I thought I would be paying whatever over 2 hrs. Their live customer service has zero common sense, blames MCA Denver. Deceptive policies, this company should be investigated by how many one stars they receive on Google maps.
DO NOT park in Metropolis lots unless you like being ripped off
Clippership Public Parking in East Boston (run by Metropolis.io) charged me --- $380 --- for one overnight stay. They also tacked on an extra service fee, despite the website for this location clearly stating that "Rates include service fees".
Conveniently, they don't tell you in their signage, on their website, or app, that they will charge you the full day rate for any amount of time. Park for 30 minutes? You'll pay the maximum for that time period.
I've been stuck in an email thread with Metropolis customer support for almost a week now. According to their rep, Clippership charged me for FIVE full 6-hour periods in a 20-hour timeframe, which they think is perfectly OK.
Seriously, park anywhere else.
Incorrect charging at XNA airport…
Incorrect charging at XNA airport acknowledged by lot attendant. Contacted Metropolis to fix it, they said I'd have to drive back to the airport (1 hr each way) to manually do it. Furthermore, their ops supervisor was smug and dismissive of their opportunities. Even suggested their charging process was as straight-forward and clear as Amazon's. HA!
I parked in the Sun Lot
I parked in the Sun Lot on E. Cromwell St in Baltimore for the Sail250 celebration. This lot is essentially an abanndoned lot where the Baltimore Sun building was. You only have the option of 1,3 or 24 hour parking. The parking jumps exponentially from 3 to 24 hours. Why not an option for 6, 9 or 12 hours. No one is goinf to park in that lot for 24 hours. The attendant (not attendants) disappeared 4 hours later after letting people park in no parking areas that block other cars and no traffic direction so exiting became a free for all that was dangerous. Customer service is non existent. DO NOT USE METROPOLIS. TOTAL RIPOFF.
Shady, Unscrupulous Business
In January I was in Cincinnati for a work event. I parked in the garage that was close to the event. I saw no obvious signs of any sort denoting rules on parking and paying. I parked and when I was walking out of the garage I noticed that the gate never came down. To me this registered as completely unsecure so I went back to my car and left the lot. My car was in there less than 5 minutes. Further, when I departed, the gate was still up so I just drove out, having not seen any obvious indication of how to pay, and also considering the fact that I wasn't in the garage for any period of time warranting a charge. And now I have received a note to pay a $2 parking ticket and a $54.50 fine. Emails to support have gone unanswered, and now I'm getting texts from a collections agency on behalf of Metropolis. I am completely willing to pay a $2 fee (even though I wasn't parked for any period of time) but a $54.50 fee is absolutely ridiculous.
This company is predatory
This company is predatory. Had to scan a UR code, create an account etc to pay to park in a public garage I’m not going to frequent again. Ofc it didn’t work, had to keep trying and then finally call the number posted to get out of the garage. Then they began sending me texts requesting my payment within 48 hours or the price would triple. I paid as intended, but there is no reason the fee should triple if an individual doesn’t pay immediately. Very unpleasant experience and a giant hassle
Horrible service
Horrible service, won’t let you create account and pay so you just have to get the fine. Staff don’t care at all and have no desire to help the customers. Absolute shit show.
Very deceptive and Crooked- apparently they learned nothing from the $7 million fine from TN Attorney General
Very deceptive, they sent me an official looking $65 "fine" letter saying we parked without paying. We did pay (in advance, actually) and they won't accept the credit statement showing the charge. Very hard to work with, submitted a complaint to the KY Attorney General. They recently were fined $7 million by the TN AG for this same business practice. They are demanding all kinds of paperwork for a $15 parking charge. They are threatening to tow or boot our car.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We purchased a prepaid parking ticket for the Opry carpark. We showed the physical parking attendant who validated our ticket, opened the boom gate and directed us to park in a specific spot. Then we got a fine notice to the rental car company claiming we parked without a ticket. They took money from our credit card without authorization and we are now arguing to get it back. We bought a $20USD ticket and they took $111USD for the fine. We've provided the prepaid ticket as evidence and now they claim we have to take it up with the rental company. Do not use this business. We have lodged a complaint with the Tennessee Attorney General Consumer Protection site.
