Refuse to refund a terminally ill pensioner on pension…

A terminally ill pensioner on pension credit, with dyslexia and not good with technology, tried to top up his meter. Having called to find out why the code he was emailed didn't work, he was told he had mistakenly entered one digit wrong in the meter number.

So he topped up again. Unfortunately, the browser remembered the old meter number and he did the same thing - he realised when the second code also didn't work.

He's now £100 out of pocket, which he cannot afford to lose for heating his home in winter. Yes, it's his mistake but mistakes happen, especially with the long numbers involved for someone like him, and because Metro Prepaid says "purchases are irreversible" on their website, they get to pocket a vulnerable pensioners money. That's SHOCKING! They could easily cancel the codes and get the money refunded to him, but no - they couldn't care less and REFUSE to help because they get £100 out of it.

THEY ARE THIEVES and should be ashamed.

I had a great experience with Girshwin while registering my prepaid sub meter. He was extremely helpful, patient, and professional throughout the entire process. Girshwin explained everything clearly and made sure that the registration was completed smoothly without any confusion.

His customer service was excellent—friendly, efficient, and very supportive. It’s always reassuring to deal with someone who genuinely cares about helping customers and resolving things quickly.

Formal letter sent - no payment received

Extremely concerning experience with Metro Prepaid.

Under our agreement the company collects payments on my behalf and is required to remit those client funds within a set timeframe. The payment due this month has not been transferred and no explanation has been provided.

These are client funds collected on my behalf. Despite repeated requests, the payment remains outstanding and no proper statement of account has been supplied.

I have now issued a formal Letter Before Action and given a final deadline of 7 March 2026 for payment in cleared funds.

If the funds are not received by that date, I will commence proceedings in the County Court to recover the money, interest, and court fees.

Nearly 25% profit for metro for every £20.0 of elecricity bought. Complete SCAM.…

I have just tried to find out from Metro prepaid why my tenant's payments have not come through to my bank account. I have also learned that for every £20.00 my tenant pays - metro takes £3.50.00 that is nearly 25%. This is a complete scam and should be made illegal.

Metro recharge Token

My metro recharge token number was not updating my meter but when I rang the helpline number, Mathew took me through the steps and I was sorted in a blink of an eye, I am so grateful Mathew

V bad company

They are very bad its been more than 10 days stuck in problem and keep calling them now they put me on hold they got my money keep give excuses they are not here in the uk they base somewhere else so please don't try this company is dose not give me option otherwise I can give all the proof

Absolutely disgraceful 12% fee

Absolutely disgraceful to take nearly 12% on ALL transactions on top of an extortionate amount per KWh

Nowhere on their site does it state that they charge a 9.55% plus VAT on every transaction- don’t be fooled by the ‘0% fee’ under each payment method, this is to show you they’re being so nice and not charging you a payment fee on top of everything else.

If I had known my landlord had this electricity system in place I would not have taken on the flat. This is absolute daylight robbery.

Tenants- if you see these meters in a potential place DO NOT RENT IT
