We wanted to move Mum down to Southampton to be near us and in the family home she was becoming isolated. It was the best thing she could have done! She loved it at Hampton Place, joined in social activities, sat out on her patio and “ put the world to rights” or read her book. Previously an avid reader mum had switched to magazines but the stimulation at Hampton place had her back swapping books and visiting the library. Relatives visited and we used the lovely guest suite for some of them. Maxine, the manager really goes “the extra mile” hosting quizzes and fun activities, providing extras and amazingly coming in under budget on the service charge every year Mum was here.
The flat itself is so well planned, easy to manage and low maintenance. Lastly it has to be said the the residents themselves are a really lovely bunch and so supportive of each other. It was always a pleasure to visit Mum at Hampton Place.

I moved in to Michael Court 12 months ago and it's the best move I have made! The house manager Fee is very helpful and friendly and all my neighbours are great and we all get along really well. I have been very warmly welcomed and would recommend to anyone contemplating this move.

A lovely three night stay at Cwrt Gloddaeth in Llandudno. Can’t fault it. Spacious accommodation and friendly and helpful house manager Helen, provided us a perfect base from which to explore one of our favourite seaside locations.

Sarah's proactive communication, attention to detail and dedication to resident satisfaction have been instrumental in ensuring that repair requests are raised promptly, appointments are coordinated effectively and completed works meet the expectations of homeowners.
Working closely with Sarah and the wider McCarthy Stone team has enabled excellent communication between all parties, creating a transparent and efficient process from initial instruction through to completion.
McCarthy Stone's willingness to engage with local contractors, listen to resident feedback and focus on service quality has helped create a strong foundation for long-term success. Together, we have delivered numerous improvements for residents and established a trusted service that homeowners can rely upon.

Valley Court

I moved into Valley Court with my husband in May this year and we have now settled in to this very warm and friendly community and I now say its our extended family. I have known this community for a number of years as my sister and her husband live here already. This help with our decision to make this our new forever home. It’s great, there is always someone to chat with, so you never feel alone. The house manager Lorraine is so approachable and nothing is too much for her to sort, arrange, point you in the right direction or just have a laugh with. I recently looked to visit family in Bristol, so Lorraine took me through everything I need to do to arrange a night stay in a Guest Suite. Lorraine also likes to work with the homeowners when holding events like parties or Fundraisers, and she is so enthusiastic about everything. This really makes Valley Court the best place to live. Lorraine, keep doing what you are doing as YOU make a difference.

I have been at Trinity Court for just a year now, it was one of the best moves I have made. People are very friendly and helpful. The House Manager Debbie has been very kind and has guided me through all the settling in procedures. So once again I am happy and contented so would advise people to think about moving in if required to do so.

Recently stayed in the guest suite at Jameson gate,

House manager nick has the property beautiful, the guest suite is clean fresh and tidy with all amenities, such a nice environment laughter is heard every morning, all the resident's are very friendly, will definitely be booking again.

I moved into Brooke Dene Court three years ago after the loss of my husband. I settled in right away from the start with the enormous amount of help from the House Manager Elaine. She is the reason it is a pleasure to live here, she is always ready to help anyone in need.

Really have to thank everyone at Holly Place in Cobham especially House Manager John who assisted my Mum recently after she had a fall .
Its very reassuring knowing my Mum lives in a caring and supportive community especially when I live and work some distance away .
John even stayed with my Mum after his hours of work had finished . Now thats dedication and very commendable .

McCarthy and Stone are a hugely professional organisation and wonderful to deal with. My experience with them has been nothing short of amazing. My parents have been working with McCarthy since Feb 26 to buy an apartment at Haydn Place. The sale transaction of their home was complex and McCarthy were engaged, patient, supportive and moreover, a huge part of a successful outcome for my parents. Nothing was ever too much trouble and it often felt like the commercials of the arrangement were second to the satisfaction and desires of my parents. A very special mention to Brooke Amos. For the most part of the journey she was the face of McCarthy and Stone. She represented my parents incredibly well (as if they were her own) and made sure in the end that all parties were satisfied. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her including making arrangements for meetings where I could join virtually from Australia and my brother could join during his workday, between meetings. I couldn’t be happier that my parents are part of the McCarthy and Stone community. For potential buyers and family members, don’t hesitate in looking at what they have on offer. You won’t regret the enquiry. Thanks again to Brooke and the whole McCarthy team.

My visit to Beaumaris court was to view possible options for my elderly mother, our first introduction to retirement living. We were very impressed by the site and facilities on offer.

Natasha, the manager, was wonderful. She put my mind at ease and answered all of my questions, taking the time to reassure me and my mother on anything that came to mind.

The resales department were also very helpful. A massive thank you to all involved for your time and dedication. Peter

The plant pots flanking the entrance doors to Wayfarer Place in Alresford have been moved on the instructions of the regional Operations Director. One of them is now ten yards away. Why has this happened? Have they caused a problem ? (No). Have there been complaints from or inconvenience to residents, visitors or tradespeople? (No. The residents voted unanimously that they should be left where they are at the last residents meeting). Have the gardeners complained about the time and money they expend on them? (No. The pots have been there since 2019 when the development was built and are maintained and supported by the residents who fundraise for them and change the display several times a year). Has the new layout improved the look of the entrance? (No, it looks silly). Has the new location improved residents experience of living at Wayfarer Place? (No, the residents are increasingly demoralised at how their wishes are ignored or contradicted by senior management control freakery).

The pots add colour and life to the development and are frequently commented on favourably by visitors, residents and staff as they use the entrance doors. Local management have been supportive of the residents’ efforts to the extent of financial support out of their own pockets.

Ideal Electrical Solutions (UK) Ltd recently carried out works across several McCarthy & Stone developments, replacing smoke alarms within all the individual properties.

The works went very smoothly, and it was a pleasure working with the house managers and homeowners throughout.

A special mention to Imelda at Braidburn Court, Kim at Stewart Terrace and Katrina, the Estates Manager at Lyle Court. All were extremely helpful, approachable and accommodating, making it easy for our engineers to coordinate access and complete the installations with minimal disruption to residents.

A really positive experience working across all three developments, and we look forward to working together again in the future.

We lived at Broadfield Court in Manchester for nearly ten years before our move to Scotland. The experience was always positive. The Estate Manager Debbie Christopher ran the place very well indeed and was a credit to the company. Recently Marina and Katie were more involved and were both always kind and helpful. Kindness was a good word for all the staff even sometimes too when under pressure. Well done all from a thankful former resident. Richard & Carole

My wife and I have lived at Hampson Court, Hazel Grove (Retirement Living) since the development was opened in 2020. It has proved to be the right choice for us, Hampson Court consists of 41 apartments and is a lovely community with a great bunch of people. We have a fabulous caring House Manager, a small but delightful Guest Suite that is well appointed. The apartment has all modern comforts and is safe and secure which is important as we age. We have read many comments on various social media expressing various comments positive and negative but we can only speak as we find. Sadly, in my view, management take too much notice of on line reviews and perhaps a better measure of customer satisfaction for large business is a concise short confidential questionnaire for each homeowner to complete, seal and return via each House manager which could be used to gauge customer satisfaction as well as perhaps subjects such as staff (local and regional) performance.
Following on from McCarthy Stone reply to my review I would add that of the 41 apartments here, only around 40% of homeowners are computer users so using web based comments to accurately base opinions is totally misleading. Survey people properly to obtain accurate opinions.

My wife & myself are moving to a McCarthy Stone retirement Apartment, They have been Wonderful & very helpful. We must mention a lady who has dealt with us from day one, Brooke Amos, Nothing has been too much trouble, helping fill in forms etc, Even calling into us at home if neccesary, she has made this moving process, so much stress free. Thank you McCathy Stone, & a very Special thanks to Brooke.

Here at Jameson Gate in Edinburgh, we are a very happy and friendly community.
Our local facilities are excellent....there is a supermarket next door, a bus stop a few meters away, a promenade a short walk away and lots of independent shops all along Portobello High street.
Internally our building is bright and modern, having recently had a fresh makeover, with a guiding hand from our wonderful House Manager Nick.....who spends much appreciated time, researching ways to make the building look its best.
It is a lovely area to live in and retire to.

Visited a family member at Hilltree Court and had a lovely experience. The development was beautiful, clean and welcoming, and the atmosphere was really pleasant. Everything was well looked after, and the staff were lovely. Would definitely recommend!

Hilltree Court Giffnock is something else. I’ve never seen my mum look so happy, she’s made new friends to have coffee with, and moving her in and going through the process was made so easy! Highly recommend

Whoever designed these flats was too young and inexperienced. There are areas where it would be more "Old People User Friendly"
The front doors are too heavy. I know they are Fire Doors but they can be more light weight.
The washing machines are too complicated, also the heating.
