Stayed at the Woodhall Spa in the guest suite. The room was spotless and plenty of space. Keith was so helpful and everyone was very friendly. I always enjoy my stays there.

Clean comfortable room
My sister and I stayed in the guest room in Freeman's House in Keepers Close in Canterbury where we visited our brother. The twin room was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable and we had clean towels and toiletries available. We also had a kettle in the room, and everything necessary to make tea or coffee. We were also provided with biscuits. There was also a small refrigerator which we didn't use. The shower was also easy to manage. It was very convenient for us to be able to visit our brother and be near him during our stay.

Cross Penny Court
My father lived at Cross Penny Court for two very happy years. The staff are always welcoming and responsive, and we are so grateful for the thoughtfulness and warmth shown to our family.
A special mention must go to the senior manager, Wendy Dark, whose personal approach makes such a difference. She takes a genuine interest in getting to know residents and their families, and is always approachable and ready to help resolve any questions or concerns. Her care and positive attitude is reassuring and greatly appreciated.
It is wonderful to know that your relative can enjoy independent living while having a friendly, caring team nearby and a welcoming community around them.

My father lived at Hilltree Court
My father lived at Hilltree Court, Giffnock for 11 years. In his ladt few years he integrated fully into the facilties including lunch,film afternoons, fish evenings, coffee mornings, quizzes, entertainment afternoons and more. As he became more frail in the last couple of years the staff went over and above to support him. He had nothing but praise for Claire and her team. Nothing was too much trouble. He spent the last 2 weeks of his life back in his flat surrounded by the care and love of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. I am indebted to them

I needed care after a fall
I needed care after a fall. Merton Place sent two care workers.
Alice was very efficient and thorough. She was a pleasant and helpful worker. I felt very safe in her care and can recommend her whole heartedly.
Katie came more often. She is a bubbly, caring worker. Nothing is too much trouble for Katie. She was like a breath of fresh air every time she arrived. Anyone who employs her will be very lucky indeed.

Not a company I Would Trust
When my Dad brought his apartment I asked if he had to go into care how easy would it be to sell the apartment. We were told nearly all apartments go up in price. And we have a specialist resale department to make this easy. Two years later having reduced the price by £100k it still has not sold. The Mccarthy and Stone resale department don’t bother to contact us unless I contact them. Mccarthy and stone are building new developments in the area despite many apartments that are in their developments remaining on their resale site unsold. Buyer beware what their salespeople tell you.
I have edited this after the response. Apart from booking viewings the last one was when exactly ? Also when we do have viewings you never manage to obtain any feedback! Also any contact re market conditions is when I phone you, when did you last contact me to discuss things ????

We're sorry to learn of your disappointment with your experience. However, we would like to clarify a few points raised in your review.
Whilst many McCarthy & Stone apartments increase in value, as with all properties, values can rise or fall depending on a range of factors, including market conditions, location and buyer demand. For this reason, we do not guarantee future resale values or timescales for selling a property.
We were also concerned to read your comments regarding contact from our Resales team.
Throughout the marketing period, our records show regular communication regarding viewings, market conditions, pricing reviews, marketing activity and potential sales opportunities. The team has continued to actively market the apartment and support the sale process throughout.
We fully understand how frustrating it can be when a property remains unsold for an extended period, particularly where circumstances have changed and ongoing costs continue to accrue.
As with leasehold properties across the wider market, service charge liability remains with the property owner regardless of occupancy, helping to ensure that services, maintenance, insurance and building safety standards continue to be provided for all homeowners. If costs were borne only by occupied apartments, those residents would end up subsidising those vacant apartments, which would be unfair.
We recognise that this has been a difficult experience for you and your family. As you know, we have already been in correspondence with you directly regarding these concerns and remain committed to supporting you through the ongoing sales process.

Like all managing agents, we have also experienced significant increases in areas such as utilities, insurance and staffing costs in recent years.

I’m very happy residing in my apartment at Market House .The staff are excellent and always available if needed. Plenty of social activities available for those who wish to join in. There is also a Bistro on site for lunches .

Marina Court - Newquay
Our father lived at Marina Court in Newquay for 8 years and had a happy time there. He enjoyed using the shared lounge area for the first few years he lived there and I think the sense of community he found there was really beneficial to him. Due to ill health in his last few years at the flat he couldn’t get out a lot but the lovely warden Abi would often check in on dad when we weren’t able to, which was a comfort for us and him. The flat was a good size and nicely finished. As a family we are really glad he had the opportunity to live there

McMillan coffee morning at Merchants Gate
Our McMillan coffee morning here at Merchants Gate on the 24th September was not only a huge success financially, raising a wopping £365, but socially too.
Apart from the usual chat and laughter our wonderful house manager, Kate Hodder, had us playing "Play Your Cards Right" which had us all totally engaged.

The guest suite was immaculate
We stayed for one night at the McCarthy and Stone retirement development, Morgan Court, in Petworth West Sussex. The guest suite was immaculate! Even with a little fridge with fresh milk. Penny, the house manager, was very friendly and helpful, taking time to show us around several resale apartments, while we were there to see friends. All in all, a home from home.

My mum is a resident at Century Court…
My mum is a resident at Century Court West Bridgford and is very happy there. From moving in she felt straight at home. Gina the House Manager is amazing. She is dedicated to her job, helpful, kind, caring and so approachable. She is always happy and smiling taking time to talk to the residents which is so important. Any problems that mum has experienced have been quickly solved by Gina. She organises a variety of activities which the residents can choose to take part in if they wish.
The building is kept clean and tidy and the communal lounge is so comfortable and welcoming.
The garden area is lovely and peaceful with outdoor furniture provided. This is a perfect place for mum in her retirement.

Ref - House Manager Doreen Vernon at Bluebell Court, Tettenhall, Wolverhampton.
Doreen goes above & beyond her remit in helping, advising, & resolving any concerns the residents have.
She diligently addressed our car parking payment issue - helping & double checking all historical paperwork towards a successful resolution. This took some time to do.
She is always a welcome face, giving time for everyone, & she attentively addresses any issues regarding the building , the grounds and/or arising concerns from the residents.
