The worst and filthy hotel, we are staying in Millennium & Copthorne in Effingham

We are currently being quarantined in this hotel following the Govt rules/law - however the hotel staff/manager is treating us as if we are in luxury prison - Knowing that we have paid £ 2, 725 for 2 adults 1 child and 1 infant.
A £38/40 hotel charging us more than £150 a night is providing us the below services.

- The room quality is very filthy, that said,
- The carpet is very old
- Spider webs are hanging of the ceiling and in the windows
- Sofa cloth is very dirty/old
- Bathroom door lock is not working
- No privacy with the other room as there is door between them
- Radiator is dirty as you can think of
- Fire alarm is wrapped up in plastic on the ceiling
- Curtains are dusty
- No cleaning has been done, since last guest left. Found socks under the bed
- Old mattress on the bed

I cannot give even 1 star to this hotel -

Please do not stay in this hotel ever - Even if you have to quarantine then please contact CTM to change your hotel. Don't be impressed with its surrounded greenery as you won't spend night in the garden.

Food is average i.e Tesco local shops sandwiches and salads.

We did contact CTM on multiple occasions to change our hotel, but since they don't have family rooms available elsewhere - therefore we have no choice.
We have reported all this to the service manager - They are saying, its a feedback to improve our services. Don't they check and examine the hygenic level or Health and safety ? I guess not at all!!!

Avoid this hotel as much as you can.

Stayed for 1 night at the copthorne…

Stayed for 1 night at the copthorne slough (stop off for Legoland) and I couldn’t fault the hotel.
Brilliant location, free parking and free breakfast which was lovely. Staff were fantastic, and in the breakfast room couldn’t do enough for you.
It really was brilliant for the price.
Comfy bed and spacious room
Good job!

Awful service and attitude

Booked 7 rooms on line for August at Millennium Copthorne Effingham - visited hotel to look at facilities etc to be told all bookings cancelled to November - asked Manager to refund the upfront costs - she promised to do so and said no need to wait, she would email confirmation - after a week, no refund, 2 chaser emails ignored. Called this morning, promised a call back when manager is off the phone - 4 hours later no call, so chased again, manager is busy doing other things, cant say when he will call back - receptionist rude, couldn't careless.
Maybe I dodged a bullet not staying here, clearing no customer service, no apology for letting customers down, and as they have no need of my custom, wont give me my money back - Appalling.

I WAS THREATENED BY RECEPTION MANAGEMENT

I was staying here on 2nd June overnight to 3rd June and the 2 men who were here 2nd June when we stayed were very friendly, were helpful too. However come to Morning we had an encounter with a brown man glasses and a lot of hair gel called NAS. He stated he is the reception manager.
He was very rude, shouting at me and my sister and not understanding. We were told by hotel 2 men reception yesterday night that we are able to leave our cars for the period of time that we paid for. But he is completely rude shouting that he threatened us he will get our cars clamped if we do not move our cars. Having already paid for parking and then being told this is completely unprofessional from a 'manager'.
I asked him for a refund and then we will move our car but he refused saying it is my fault that i did not ask.
Not only that, having spoken to my brother, he said what do you think will happen to me just because you took my name? He said to my brother nothing will happen just because you are going to complain.

To be honest , this Manager, Nas thinks he is invincible! Having hofifying customer service skills and being a manager on top of that to me says Copthorne NEEDS TO CHANGE THEIR STAFF!
OR ATLEAST TRAIN THEM TO TALK TO THEIR GUESTS WITH RESPECT!!!
I did ask yesterday night and the 2 men helpful who said it was fine.

If this was the case, why were we not told yesterday by staff who were already here when we checked in yesterday? If we knew we had to leave then i would not have paid. Also why is it not clearly stating that we can only stay here for the reason of hotel?

I am very disappointed with Copthorne management if this is the case. Unprofessional and disoriented when it comes to staff communication.

I came here happy but now my day is ruined. I did not expect to come to Copthorne hotel in Birmingham just so i can be threatened by the receptipn manager.

I am NEVER coming back again and i hope none of you book with them!

The staff is generally nice and I'm a quite regular guest there. However, recently the door of my room got stacked as the locker did not work. The staff was again helpful and got it fixed but obviously it needed a half an hour to. I'm not blaming the staff working onsite, actually I'm thankful to them but not happy with the technical issues there.

Copthorne Tara - Kensington

Fastest Booking ever, Fantastic Staff, Superb Services in hand, Everything Hovered, Clean, and Organised.
- Securities: Polite & Friendly Securities (Ahmed in particular).
- Cleaners: They are doing a great job with full ppe as companys high standard, they clean the room whenever you need it even in a very short notice, they hoover the carpet, clean the tables, tv, wash & change the bed sheets and make the bed look as new like noone slept in there before, change and wash all towels, clean the bathroom, empty the bins and leave you extra bin bags on the bottom of the bins as a back up when you need them, they never touch your personal stuff & never steal or lie which is great.
- Receptionists: Full of knowledge about anything you ask them and super friendly and always keen to help. When the post arrives they always inform you by dialing the room number and always have all the parcels / envelopes ready for you when you need them.
- Managers: (Andrei Ticau - F.O.M in particular) Super Friendly, Professional, Helpful, and understands the needs of the customers and makes them always feel happy, welcoming and safe while on duty doing other things as they come and go. He is a very Valuable Asset to the Company as he knows how to make the customers stay there in longer run.
- Markella Votsi (D.S): The best person to talk to about the hotels within their company as she gathers all the information needed and hands it over to you in best way possible and knows how to keep the customers stay longer in their hotels. She is always keen to help anyone, any time. Oh yah and she knocks down the price for you if you stay in their hotels longer and informs the hotel management teams of the new arrivals and instructs her staff to make the room & card ready for you. The whole staff of the hotel checks and asks if your are ok or need anything from them which is fantastic.
Room: Has a nice big Comfy Double Bed, all nice and clean as you need it. There is a good size TV with plenty of TV Channels & Radio Stations. There is a small fridge under the TV which is always Clean and Quiet. There is Plenty of Storage for your clothes, lots of hangers and a nice big wardrobe. There is an Iron & Iron Board inside the wardrobe if you need them for your clothes. There is a small water kettle and lots of sugar, coffee, tea bags and 2 nice and goid size cups if & when you need to make a coffee or tea in your peaceful time. There is a Hair Dryer too, which is great when you need it (however i never used it as some of my hair is gone on a long holiday; i know you are laughing but its true). The Heaters are great when you need them in cold or hot weather as they have both functionalities Hot & Cold with 3 Speed Settings. The window can be arranged to open to a safe distance (always done within their health and safety limits to protect the customers and their staff at the same time & bogus claimers too ;) ) there is lots of lighting in the room to choose as your preference with touch buttons near by your bed or near by the entrance door which is great and lots of plugs for your laptops or mobiles or tablets to charge them when you need too. There are 2 tables and 2 chairs to suit your needs when you need to eat something at your own time. You have plenty of toilet rolls and tissues and lots of hair shampoo & conditioner inside the bathroom which is fabulous when you are tired and smelly of work. You also have 2 small and 2 big glasses for water or drinks. You have 1 small bin in the Bathroom and one in the Room under the Coffee Table, and the shower is hot and powerful when you need to use it, there is a sink with hot and cold water and a toilet nice and clean when you need it. There is also a telephone and a hardened steel safe underneath it which is fantastic to use them when you need to. The room is big, and very quiet and it has a heat alarm installed too, so in case of fire you are notified immediately with everyone else at the same time to prepare for the evacuation and to go to hotels assembly point which is located just outside the hotel. Overall i am a very happy customer and will always recommend Copthorne Tara Hotel and their staff to anyone who wants a peaceful and stress free stay and sleep and i will always come back to them when i need to as i know i will have a pleasent and joyful time while staying there. Now its Covid Time and due to government restrictions and tough measures to all businesses the restaurant and the gym are not open however there will be plenty of time for it to use their whole services they have for their customers. There is always a car space for you available when you need it for your car ot van at an extra cost. I will score this hotel 10/10 and will be more than happy to stay there at any time, day or night. I hope you enjoyed reading the most honest review ever as i am my self. Have a good Time and Enjoy the Stay at Copthorne Tara Hotel - Kensington.

Copthorne Hotel, Slough

Having planned a trip to Legoland we booked Copthorne hotel slough for 2 nights.

We were immediately very disappointed. At check-in the receptionist was very miserable, did not offer any information about facilities, times or directions to room.

Entering our room we noticed pubic hairs in the bath tub, mold around the bath, broken toilet roll holder, latch on bathroom door stuck so it would only stay closed when locked, no extractor fan, heating system did not get warm, despite increasing the temperature on the thermostat.

The bar staff were also very miserable, the food was not up to scratch - bloomer bread was not bloomer and was hard/stale. Chips were hard inside. Not enough cutlery provided for all our diners, dirty condiments.

Really was not impressed with this hotel.

The housekeeping/cleaners were very polite and friendly as were the staff in the Chinese restaurant.

I would not recommend this hotel nor would I stay here again.

A lot of front and no substance

This hotel is HORRIBLE. DO NOT STAY HERE. I would rather stay in a hostel.

At a conference in the Millennium hotel in Kensington and I was told by the barman i must vacate the table 15mins after finishing a coffee. I was on a business call and asked for 2 minutes. The barman placed two poor people down at the table and left them there! Complete horrible for all involved.

The toilets are also disgusting and the staff barely speak any English - meaning they are completely unhelpful. Supervisor no where to be seen.

I “unexpectedly” needed a Hotel room on…

I “unexpectedly” needed a Hotel room on Friday December 27th.

Let’s, cut to the chase:-
I look at what I pay, I look at what I get.
1. Arrival, perfect reception staff. Check in could not have been smoother, easier, more helpful.
2. Ok..... I did go straight to the bar! A few snacks, a few bloody Mary’s. Two nice helpful young lads in there, good fun, polite... great.
3. My brother turns up. More drinks, more food, great fun evening.
4. Eventually (eventually) go to my room. Room was perfect, immaculate, clean, top class. Bathroom etc, similarly, tip top, fabulous.?

A perfect class stay. Not a single complaint. Too be frank I’d struggle to even “invent a complaint”

Of anything else to say. Great value for money, perfectly happy.

Best regards to the whole team for a great job. As a customer? Totally delighted.?
