Card restricted - no communication
I have been extremely disappointed with Asda Money.
My card was blocked on the very same day that I loaded a significant amount of money onto it, which has been incredibly frustrating. As a result, I've been left unable to access my own money.
I managed to speak to someone two days ago who told me the restrictions would be lifted, but my card is still not working. I've now been waiting two days for a response with no update at all.
What makes the situation even worse is how difficult it is to actually speak to a human. When you finally do get through, you're simply told that only the specialist team can deal with the issue. That team has a stated response time of one to two working days, but you're also told the issue could take up to two weeks to resolve.
It is completely unacceptable that customers can be locked out of their own money for such a long period of time with no clear communication or timescale. Customer service has been extremely poor throughout this experience, and I would not recommend Asda Money based on how this situation has been handled.

Exchange rates are awful
Exchange rates between currencies are appalling. Avoid.
I had 550 EUR , needed to switch to USD for an Africa trip, where the card couldn't actually be used, and when I exchanged back to EUR I had 50 EUR less. The interbank rate was virtually unchanged, all the loss to me was due to predatory fx rate design within this card service. No real costs were incurred by MasterCard as the exchange was never encashed but I've suffered huge fees.

Customer service is shocking…
Had my asda credit card for a year before I thought someone had got hold of my card details, asda quickly replaced the card, that was in February and I haven't been able to use the card since, I have been trying to sort it out for the last 2 months, kept being told someone would be in touch, reply time ranged from 3 minutes to 3 days, I have closed my account and gone with a different provider, asda money credit card is greatly let down by their customer service, I wouldn't recommend to anyone.
