I live in the EU and had to renew my British passport which was nearing expiry. After my initial contact I had a dedicated correspondent, who appeared pleasant and helpful. Whether It was a person or AI I don't know, but it felt very much like a friend, giving advice and making useful suggestions. There were no short cuts. Each time I sent a query or some information, it was acknowledged at the beginning of the following day. One step at a time. When I had trouble with the size of my photo I received helpful suggestions on how best to resend it according to various possible configurations. The tone was always encouraging, never accusatory, and the communication always ended with an informal pat on the back. The whole experience was reassuring and rapid. It took about 4 weeks, including Easter.

My last UK passport was issued in 1985 - so I had to apply for a passport from scratch. There were a number of issues with my birth certificate and the spelling of my mother's name. These complications were difficult for me to resolve. But with the consistent, kind and patient correspondence, Saretha guided me through the maze and I now have my passport. I don't think I could have done this without her help, thanks a million.
