An older staff member did a gait analysis for me and he was so knowledgeable and helpful. Couldn't recommend Northern Runner enough!

The overall experience and support from Northern Runner has benn outstanding.
No hesitation in recommending Northern Runner.

Arrived at 4:55pm (shop closes at 5:30pm) and told the gait analysis took 45 mins (website says 20 mins) so staff member unable to do it in full as ‘I really need to leave at 5:30pm because I’m so tired’. She said she could watch me run down the service corridor to the bins and back instead. She did offer me advice about the type of shoe I needed and sounded like she knew what she was talking about. Left at 5:15pm! Not a great experience all in all.

I recently ordered a pair of Altra shoes which were very quickly delivered.
Unfortunately they didn’t fit me so I went through the return process and I sent them back via Royal Mail signed for delivery.
Within an hour of Northern Runner receiving them I had a full refund which was amazing.
I’ll definitely be buying from them again.

Absolutely brilliant customer service - I bought some trainers in the Newcastle shop where they were really helpful. I realised they were a little too narrow when trying on at home and they allowed me to post them back (as I'm not local) and arranged for a new pair of shoes to be delivered to me. Such refreshing customer service and really positive experience - thank you Chris who arranged it all!

I ordered a pair of Topo's in a 9.5 unfortunately they were to tight and the particular one was discontinued, the transition from a 9.5 to another pair of Topo's in a 10 was flawless and made so by Chris and Michelle, highly recommended, can't speak highly enough of them.

After purchasing a pair of running shoes and quickly moving through the transaction I failed to realize I hadnt updated my account to the new address. After contact them they were able to assist to return shipment to them and then dispatched another pair to me before the return. Chris was particularly good in responding quickly to my emails and keeping me up to speed, thank you. After a gap of 4 years in not buying from you I will be back regularly

I ordered a OMM waist belt from their website. Not only was it a reasonable price, delivery was free and arrived in a couple of days. Super impressed and I will definitely be ordering from them again.

I bought a pair of Topo MTN racer 2’s from NR, but needed to return under warranty after about 8month as the glue bonding on the sole started failing.

There was a no quibble acceptance of the return, followed by a replacement pair being dispatched. As the same model was discontinued, the MTN racer 3’s were sent as a replacement at no extra cost.

I was stoked. Made up. I mean, I got a brand new pair of the latest model shoes that I love at no cost!

Fast forward a couple months, and the material started to split around the ankle.

Whilst being fully aware that they would not be covered under warranty and not expecting anything; I contacted customer services to provide genuine feedback on the premature failure, as well as give an honest review on the sizing which felt a tad smaller than the previous iteration of the model.

To my surprise, I was offered a credit against my original purchase of the MTN racer 2’s to use on the website on condition I returned the 3’s via freepost.

Could this get any better?!

Yes, is the easy answer.

I wanted to change to a different brand, given my now bad experience of the TOPO’s.

I settled on a pair of INOV8’s but my size was not in stock. I kept an eye out for about a week, and also struggled to find them elsewhere.

I contacted customer services and they were promptly ordered in especially for me!

I would absolutely continue to use NR, and would without hesitation recommend them to anyone.

I wear foot shaped zero drop trainers (Altra, Topo). Northern Runner have a good selection, with usually a few models in the sale. When I ordered online, the deliveries came quickly. Once I returned a pair. Staff applied the refund on the day they received the parcel.

Recently, while I was passing through Newcastle, I went into the shop. That way I could try a few models. Staff gave me handy advice. Thanks Chris.

I had been recommended by my podiatrist to try a couple of pairs of trainers following a foot fracture and tear of one of my foot tendons.

I purchased 3 different types of shoe from Northern Runner. However, each were not suitable for different reasons. I returned them in person to their store in Newcastle.

I was refunded immediately and in addition to this, the guy I spoke to (I forget his name) looked at my feet and within 10 seconds was able to tell me what size and type of shoe would be ideal.

I tried them on and he wasn’t wrong. The most comfortable fitting shoe I’ve ever had and I feel no pain when walking in them (unlike other footwear I own).

It surprised me the guy found a shoe first time as I have such high arches and wide feet. I usually search for hours to find a decent shoe.

The one I tried on was so good I’ve purchased an additional 2 pairs as Brooks don’t make them anymore.

A massive thanks to the guy in there. Great customer service. I’ll not buy my shoes from anywhere else now!

Excellent service overall, initially spoke to a very nice helpful chap on the phone who guided me on width sizing for a pair of hoka mach5. From here I was able to place an online order through the site, and received my trainers a couple of days later in excellent condition. Very recommendable.

I returned some Hokas that were too small and received a refund the next day. (Also well done to Royal Mail Standard Delivery!) My new order of a larger size (also from Northern Runner) arrived promptly and these fit perfectly. I am a huge Hoka fan since buying my first pair last August - instant relief from plantar fasciitis, after suffering for 18 months. Though I am female, I find men's Hokas better as there is more wriggle room for toes.

After a bad experience with original delivery from Royal Mail (not Northern Runner fault) Michele in Customer Service sorted for me same day. Very impressed & will shop here again in the future.

First experience with Northern Runner but was very impressed. I emailed with some questions and received a fast response ahead of buying some Hokas. Unfortunately they didn’t fit quite right so I returned them. I was surprised to receive confirmation of my refund the same day my return was delivered to them. No waiting around, wondering when it’ll get sorted. Excellent service

A wonderful company, my first port of call for trainers, always arrive in record time. Only once had to return a pair due to not being a good fit. Refund made immediately. Highly recommend.
