I pay monthly for them to repair and service my boiler.
I had a gas safety check and it failed, including it needed cleaning and servicing which they apparently did a few months prior.
I contacted them to conduct the repair which they replied
"We don’t cover this type of situation because the faults have occurred due to a system condition and maintenance-related issue rather than sudden mechanical failures"
They are meant to maintain it and it's been condemned and unusable !
What's the point of a service that doesn't do the basic maintenance to prevent it failing? Or at least say when it's serviced it needs a clean.
None of the faults would have occured since the "service" as it's been unoccupied since.
You will reply "it's on the small print" but surely a basic clean is part of a service and would stop a lot of calls outs?
So I'm faced with paying someone else or getting a new boiler..

Thank you for your review. We do need to clarify a few points regarding the service provided.
Your plan with OpenFix is a homeowner plan and the visit carried out in April was an annual boiler service, not a Landlord Gas Safety inspection. Our Gas Safe registered engineer completed the required service and safety checks at the time and recorded their findings on the jobsheet that you can access from your customer portal.
You have confirmed that the property has subsequently been left unoccupied since April. The issues identified during the more recent Gas Safety inspection include deterioration and maintenance-related conditions such as corrosion, a perished seal and damage to the flue terminal. The fact that these have subsequently been identified does not mean that they were present or required remedial work when the boiler was serviced several months earlier.
An annual boiler service is also not a preventative maintenance contract under which every component is dismantled, cleaned or replaced to prevent any future deterioration or breakdown.
We appreciate that it is frustrating to now have work required on the boiler. However, our repair support covers sudden and unforeseen breakdowns of covered components. It does not cover general deterioration, maintenance requirements or faults arising from excluded system conditions.

Really impressed with quick setup for Complete Home Care cover. Great value and really like the two year lock in option, making it easier then looking for new quotes every 12 months - would definetely recommend so far!

First time with Openfix.
First time with Openfix and had to use them as I found a wasps nest in the loft and they were coming in bathroom. They had to be treated twice but it was no bother to Openfix so I'm really pleased with the service.
