My diagnosis in April was a shock if im honest. Optegra reassured me through out the assessments and finally the operation. It was weird lol but no pain and those involved were incredible. From the receptionist to the surgoen. Its now October and my journey iz compleat. Everyone of them deserves praise.
Just wish NHS Scotland had a similar system so my Uncle could get his operation without waiting years

Second cataract surgery
Having had to dash to York for my appointment at 8.30 because the Apperley Bridge clinic was experiencing equipment difficulties, the experience at York was far superior to AB( I’d had one cataract surgery done there). York was calm, quiet, very organised. The staff were all extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The experience in theatre was totally different from AP - there were checks and more checks of my name etc, which eye, which lens.
I had opted for Right to Sight but the treatment should not be different from NHS. I opted for RTS to get a quicker appointment - not a superior service.
The receptionist knew exactly how much I had to pay and, again, was friendly yet professional.
York - albeit just does cataract surgery- was 5 star whereas AB comes nowhere near. I have already recommended to a friend to opt for York when she has her surgery.
Additionally, I found Optegra not straightforward to do deal with- and had several conflicting pieces of information. Optegra needs to get its act together.

The speed of appointment the staff and the surgeon all excellent and pain free. The recovery and my eyesight is also excellent. My only complaint is that little to no notification of the waiting time during the time of the appointment and when you are actually seen

Cataract surgery
Staff made you feel comfortable. They were very friendly and if you had any questions they'd be good to explain. Told you what was being done each time they came to put the drops in. Had my left eye done 6 weeks after my right eye. Can see a lot better now, don't need glasses for distance just close up which is better than b4 No after drops to do. If anyone said they were thinking of having cataracts done I'd recommend them

Nervous Patient
As a very nervous patient I was so grateful today to get the support of Heather in the theatre. All were understanding and professional. The whole experience with my three visits I could not recommend Optegra, Colchester more. Staff and Service are second to none. I would have no problem in recommending them.

Been off sick since had done 15 rh january, left eye I had operated on has gone worse ,feel like I am just seeing out of one eye and distorted vision people say my eyes don't look right so anxiety and depression have set in ,but before that and got worse ,been back to them numerous times and they don't give a dam ,just saying your eyes ate fine ,please do not have it done
