Good and easy to use

Really impressed with this company. User friendly very helpful and a good product. Would thoroughly recommend.

Amazing service, easy to order and set up direct debit. If there’s any concerns the customer service team sort it out straight away. If your product that you have ordered isn’t going to be prepared in time they will either sort a replacement out for the same price or give you the option to wait. Definitely recommending this to my friends and family. It is so affordable

Amazing contact and support

I was told that they are unable to cancel it as they had sent a counter offer that expires in 24 hours and that I am unable to decline it and must wait for the time to elapse.

They sent the counter offer AFTER i had requested for it to be cancelled which is unacceptable.

Really poor experience with them and the customer service team.

Frozen my shopping cart which I really need to get asap for an event and now I have to wait 24 hours before they are supposedly able to unfreeze my cart.

Used them in the past and it was ok. Wanted to buy something using payl8r and I thought I’ll do it over 18 months. The interest was ok. Went through the application only to find out that the new offer has a total repayable nearly double the price of what Imm wanting to buy…no thanks

Charging me for stn I sent back cos it was faulty madness of a company ain’t a getting a penny out of me for stn I don’t own

Two loans, no payments missed, both paid in full yet declined on a new order

I would like to raise a concern regarding Payl8r’s handling of personal data and the inconsistency between its public-facing policies and its actual data retention practices.
During a recent attempt to apply for finance through Payl8r, I was asked to grant access to my bank account using open banking tools. The level of access required was highly intrusive, particularly at an early stage when no agreement had been finalised. Due to these concerns, I cancelled the application voluntarily and requested that my personal data be erased, in accordance with the UK GDPR.
However, Payl8r declined this request, stating that they are required to retain personal data for seven years, even for applications that were not completed or approved. They cited regulatory obligations under the FCA and the need to retain data for potential future complaints or audits.
What makes this especially concerning is that, in other communications and marketing material, Payl8r suggests that they do not retain or store customer data beyond what is strictly necessary for processing applications. This creates a significant inconsistency between what is stated publicly and what is practiced behind the scenes.
This means that even if you begin an application but never complete it—or even just attempt to purchase something via a retailer using Payl8r—your personal and financial data may be retained by the company for up to seven years, without any formal agreement being reached.
The public deserves clarity on what data is collected, how long it is kept, and under what legal basis. Data minimisation and transparency are core principles of the UK GDPR, and I did not feel these were upheld in my experience.
If you are considering using this service, be aware that the personal information you provide during the initial steps—however tentative—may be stored long-term, even if you change your mind and never become a customer.
I hope this review encourages greater transparency around data handling within the industry and prompts Payl8r to be more explicit about its long-term data practices.
