I have never used a service like this to print a photobook, so was a bit nervous of the outcome, especially after reading a few bad reviews. However, I am truly delighted with the quality of my product! Leaving a thorough review for anyone like me wanting to give this a go!

Photobook Quality:
- Great quality material of the cover page - I chose linen with gold stamp text
- Photos came out in beautiful resolution and colour, on really thick pages that feel professional and long lasting
- Ability to print up to 140 pages, which is way more than other companies offer
- Heaps of options on how you want your book displayed (basically fully customisable)
- Website and book editor is super user friendly and quite fun to use. Work is saved every few minutes to your profile, meaning you can come back to edit whenever you like

Customer Service:
- I contacted their support email as the postal tracking number they provided wasn’t showing in the system for a few days after I was notified it had been shipped. I received an email back within 24 hours confirming the tracking number was correct/my order had been shipped, and to check in on the number in a few days as it can take time. This was all correct, and my order arrived a few days after that!
- Didn’t receive too many email updates, however you can view the progress of your order (printed, shipped etc.) through their website which is helpful

Shipping timeframes:
- Placed order on 12/08/2026, and received on 24/08/2026, so almost two week timeframe
- This is definitely longer than what they state online, however I had read many reviews on this so wasn’t too fussed

Cost:
- Honestly worth the $240 I spent considering the quality of the product. Cost more as I chose a couple of upgrades (premium lay flat, linen hardcover and 140 pages)
- Free shipping and discount codes utilised

A few tips/notes to anyone wanting to order a photobook with this company:
- Use high quality photos for the best outcome. I used a few iPhone images throughout, which came out a bit grainy compared to the high resolution camera shots
- Take your time when editing photos, especially for full page prints with no borders wanted. I rechecked my image positions many times to ensure no cropping or page crossovers as Photobook do not do this for you (this is stated in user reviews)
- Suggest ordering the Premium Layflat option for seamless quality of double page prints
- There are upgrade options at the end of the process (paper quality, cover stamping etc). I chose the standard Felix Schoeller E-Photo Lustre 190gsm (no extra cost), which came out great
- Note that shipping takes longer than what they advertise (in my case anyways), so expect longer timeframes
- Although advertised as Australian, seems they actually print in Malasia (probably why the shipping takes longer)

Do NOT trust the Guaranteed Delivery dates or expect a refund! Contradictory Customer Service.

I had a terrible experience relying on Photobook Australia’s delivery guarantee for a crucial gift. My order (PBO10672350) was a Mother's Day gift, and I paid extra for **Express Shipping** to ensure on-time delivery.

**The Failure to Deliver** I placed my order on **April 30, 2026**. The company's website advertised that the cut-off date for guaranteed Mother's Day delivery was May 1 as long as Express Shipping was paid for. Since my order was placed before this deadline, it should have qualified. Despite meeting their published requirements, the order **did not arrive on time** for Mother's Day, forcing me to purchase an alternative gift.

**Contradictory Explanations and Refund Refusal** When I contacted customer support for a refund, the company provided highly confusing and contradictory information.

1. First, they confirmed the May 1 deadline. 2. Then, a different agent claimed that while the order was placed before the May 1 cut-off for Express Shipping, it was processed under their **"standard Express Shipping service"** rather than the "guaranteed-delivery option". 3. They could not clearly explain why an order placed before the deadline was deliberately excluded from the guarantee it qualified for.

Invite everyone to have a look at the email - they are either blatant liars or simply incompetent. They don't even acknowledge the fault.

Per other reviews, there's nothing Australian about "Photobook Australia". The products are printed from Malaysia which is may well be why they aren't able to fulfill their own promises.

Save your time and money and go for a local Australian business instead

Hilarious!!! Contacted company by phone & email multiple times & nearing 3 weeks staff advising it’s been escalated & WAIT!!!
Completed project arrived a week ago!!!! Spent over $300 AUD with this company so very disappointing ….

My reason for giving this review is that it was reasonable to assume Photobook Australia would be Australian based. I now see my book is being shipped from Malaysia - therefore likely to take much longer to receive - even though I paid the premium postage. This needs to be much clearer on the website.

Disappointed and misled.

I chose this company after reading some good reviews before almost purchasing with another company. Everything I read at the time said the quality etc was great. I thought the process online was easy when making my book and can’t wait to see the final product HOWEVER THIS COMPANY IS NOT PRINTING PRODUCTS IN AUSTRALIA. I’m disappointed to say the least as nothing on the website specifically tells you this. I have screen shots of the shipping info and the apparent “location” of this company. My order is coming from Malaysia which again is not displayed anywhere on the website that manufacturing is done off site.

The only reason I went with this company was the fact it was “Australian owned” when realistically I should have realised it was too good to be true.

Hopefully the quality of our photo book remains the same but I’m not holding hope and I’m also not relying on the fact that I paid for express shipping for it to arrive within the given time frame because I didn’t realise it was coming from Malaysia !!

PhotobookAustralia.com.au —definitely is an option to use to capture memories. The website I find easy to navigate & the customer service is accessible.

However there are hidden customs/delivery cost if you are ordering in Australia—b/c it is mailed out from Malaysia.

Secondly, the colour resolution are satisfactory. The Colour-Up may not be your best option if you want more natural tones.

Over the last month I have been working on a Photobook through Photobook Australia and have spent a couple of weeks putting it together through their website. This week Photobook Australia reported an issue with their website and all the work I had put into my current photobook over the last few weeks has been lost including the saved history of this book. I am really disappointed and frustrated as they have not been able to retrieve any of the book which was nearly ready for printing. This is weeks of work lost by Photobook Australia. There appears to be no options with Photobook to do backup versions of the photobook to prevent the lose of a it such as has recently happened. I am a great believer in backups and am surprised that Photobook does not have this facility which means you run the risk of losing all the work you put into producing a photobook with them. I have 20 more books to produce of my 6 month trip overseas which I am now looking at doing through another company.

I have used photobook shop 3 times now, at first I found it confusing but after my initial order I finally worked it out and I am very happy with the finished product. The lay flat books are truly lay flat with great thick paper. I have also purchased fridge magnets which are great.

I ordered a photobook one week ago and paid for express shipping. I assumed my order was coming from Australia as the website is called 'Photobook Australia,' and would therefore arrive several days before Christmas. I have now learned that the item is coming from Malaysia and will not arrive until almost a week after christmas. If I had have known this, I would not have spent the amount of money that I have on this photobook for my mother's Christmas present. I feel this is very misleading and now I'm disappointed my mum won't get her Christmas present on time.

Great quality book, using no upgraded features. Very prompt turnaround. Have used 3 times and plan on more!

Photobook Australia are scammers.
The claim 'Free Shipping for orders over $45' is on their Google Listing, on their Home Page, even on the page of their clunky app.
I paid hundreds of dollars for my order and was astonished to find a $45 shipping charge had suddenly been added. Their weaselly response to my complaint point to hidden terms and conditions that exclude all kinds of orders from the Free Shipping claim that they use as their primary draw-card.
I will hope that the next supplier I choose for any photo books will be honest about their charges.
Apart from that, their application is incredibly clunky and their ordering process is challenging.
Any other supplier would have to be better than this one.

Ordered a Photobook of a holiday recently and am overall pleased with the quality of the photos. I would suggest enabling users to shuffle pages when creating on a desktop.

Book arrived badly damaged after poor packing by photobook, all items jammed into small bag no protection for book. When I told them they said sorry it can happen in transit. Offered me $20 to use in their shop as good will..Disgusted, really expensive book a gift now useless. Dont use this company.

The quality of the pages were pretty good however the time from receiving the notification to when it was sent out was too long.

I ordered 2 x 8” x 6” Small Landscape Perfect Bind Deluxe Hardcover Photobooks (Order #10444851 & #10445334) and unfortunately I’m really disappointed.

The photo quality is poor — images appear grainy, yellow, and dull, despite me uploading high-resolution originals. The books themselves feel cheaply made and don’t match the “deluxe” description at all.

To make matters worse, the contact email they provide is invalid, so there’s no easy way to get in touch for support or resolution.

I expected much better quality and service, especially for the price.

Great support via a phone call as I couldn't find my original book to order more copies.

Buying a prepaid voucher is a complete ripoff as there is no way to extend the voucher time limit. So 12 weeks and your money is gone. I spent over $120 for NOTHING. No recourse. No service provided.

I used Photobook Australia to create a photobook of memories throughout the past two decades, for a hens gift for a friend. Photobook Australia's website is very easy to use, very user friendly. The delivery of the book was as advertised, and I was so happy with the finished result. It was a very high quality item, and I chose the paper/book type without all the glossy finishings. My friend cried upon seeing the gift. Highly recommend!

Just received my fourth photo book with them and great quality as usual. I particularly like the layflat which are lovely thick paper and are truly layflat.
