I did Typaz basic to correct my bad habits
I did Typaz basic to correct my bad habits. The course was very basic and the range of exercises surprisingly limited. Course was completed within 2 weeks and minimal efforts but it only offered very small range of practice text. I’ve ended up achieving a good result but only because I bought another online course which was 5% of the price and offered me a lot more exercises. Staff was pleasant and I’m glad I’ve managed to complete the course but I will not be investing in further courses. Maybe good for those looking for secretarial qualifications but in hindsight it wasn’t a good value for money for me.

Great Experience
After speaking with the advisors at the centre I decided to enrol in the Medical Secretary course through Pitman Learning. They walk you through everything step by step and and offer encouragement and support. Many thanks to Lisa, Ruby and Olivia for helping me with my new career.

BEWARE they discriminate against certain people
Attended the Pitman centre in Edinburgh today to do the English exam for citizenship. I was turned away because I am unable to wear a mask for serious reasons.I have an exemption layard but the woman in charge, Moira, absolutely refused to budge and turned me away. I tried reasoning and offering to wait or do it at a later time or come to some kind of solution but she was not interested at all in trying to help in ANY way at all as if not being able to wear a mask were a choice. I called the police and I now have a case number and I will be taking this further. Since when has the UK be ome a country that discriminates against people who have serious problems ? This has caused me great inconvenience and expense as I have come from England for my exams as well as humiliation and anger. The other exam venue in Edinburgh had no suc h problem and respected my basic human rights. So if you are disabled in any way do not sign up with Pitman because you would find more sympathy in a prison I believe.

We are sorry to hear about your negative experience. On this occasion it was completely out of our control and we apologise for that.
As you may now know, the exam you are taking is controlled by ProMetric. We host exams on their behalf. They have a very strict policy regarding COVID safety measures and the mandating of face masks. Our staff had no choice but to follow the rules/Policy stipulated by ProMetric.
If we had of known of your exemption for wearing a mask in advance, we would have certainly arranged for you to sit your exam in an isolated/private room. Because we were not made aware in advance, and we had many other students in the Centre, we were unable to allow you to sit your exam on the day.
Once again, we are sorry for your inconvenience.
So many of us, as people and as businesses, have had to navigate through these COVID measures to the best of our ability, trying to observe different sets of rules and protocols.
Please get back in touch with us and we would be more than happy to re-book your exam in one of our Centres but in a private room this time, taking your exemption to wearing a mask into account.
We never discriminate against any person under any circumstance.

I started my course with Pitman- Dublin in May 2021. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The course was well taught and very easy and clear to follow. Pitman Training have been great
Pitman Training have been great. I have sat 2 x exams at their Centre in Manchester now, the process of booking is quick and simple, you always receive confirmation back in a speedy fashion. The staff are lovely and make you feel very welcome and it has a very calming atmosphere which is important the morning of an exam, it helps me to remain calm and focused. Thank you Pitman :)

Very poor service
I tried to contact your branch in swords but so far no response .I asked for refund money. Due to enforced closures due to COVID the students were left to their own devices ,cannot give you any specialised help or advise if you need something explained.
Due to the pandemic ,I got stuck with three children at home and I also continued the work to the full time. Health problems were later complications. Throughout this period there has been no great response from your Pitman's Swords branch also when I asked for at least a partial refund for a course which I did not complete , no one contacted me . Very poor service and no interest in student .€3.500 which I spent on the Legal Secretary courses is not value of money.

The strict lockdowns enforced by Government meant that we sadly had to close our Training Centres repeatedly. But we did still endeavour to support all of our students remotely through these lockdown periods, thanks to our online learning platform and our staff; learning coaches being on-hand to offer support and assistance.
It sounds like you have had some additional challenges to contend with and we hope that you are doing much better now.

I done my SELT B1 TEST and it says on the email that I'll get my test result after one day and it also stated that its a same day result but I didn't mind about that so I was waiting for ages to get my result and I got nothing I tried to phone them and the guy I was speaking too was very rude and all the email I sent I didn't get any reply not recommend taking a B1 SELT HERE such a waste of time

Here at Pitman Training we act as an exam venue for some of the these exams but your exam provider would issue the results. Your results don't actually come through to Pitman Training as they come directly to you from your SELT exam provider.

Definitely wouldn’t use Pitman training Guildford again. I booked my AAT exam which was cancelled due to lockdown. I contacted them to rearrange and I was give a date. I then turned up on the rearranged date to find the center was closed. I rang the number on the website to get through to a very rude person telling me I was wrong even though I had an email to prove it. She then said she would ring me back. 30minutes of waiting outside of the centre later, I received a phone call from another lady telling me they had contacted me by email to cancel which I have no record of? I asked for my money back and gave her my bank details for a refund which I did not get. I complained to pitman training and they forwarded my email to the franchise owner in guildford. I received my money back but no apology. Customer service could definitely be improved.

We are sorry to hear that you had a negative experience back in January. We do understand that you visited the Guildford Centre on a day that they were forced to close due to lockdown. We endeavoured to send emails to everybody who had booked exams with us notifying everybody about the exam cancellations due to enforced closures due to COVID. In these emails we offered everybody a rescheduled exam or a full refund. It seems that you did not receive this email.
As soon as you replied to us with your bank details, we processed a full refund. We do understand that it would've been upsetting to make an unnecessary journey during the lockdown period. Again, we are sorry about the confusion and your inconvenience.
We would welcome you back in the future if we can support you in any way, whether with an exam booking or whether studying/upskilling for a new career. Good luck with everything.

You’ve flagged it up my reviews? Thank you for that ! Hopefully you can’t flag up the court judgement. Anyway I’m still waiting the documents testifying that HCPS training Watford paid in full the AAT level 3 course at the date of my enrolment 01/10/2019. The email sent to me by Claire Casey it’s just you’re usual bla bla bla . I haven’t received any material means the books that you provide with the course and the online access to AAT learning. What I had is an Excel 2013 not part of AAT that has a normal pitman validation test at the end. If you want I can send you the validation test that I should’ve done. After all you are saying that I’ve started AAT but just last week was ready for me the online course. At the same time you can’t provide any documents that the AAT was paid in my name in 2019/10/01.

I did 5 AAT Bookkeeping Exams in the Pitman Training Centre in Glasgow. The exams were easy to book and the staff always friendly and efficient when I arrived. This really helped to calm my nerves. Thank you!

I recommend pitman training
I recommend pitman training. I've completed a medical secretary diploma which enabled me to gain employment in my local hospital. I am now continuing my training with an accounts diploma as I would like to be able to apply for financial positions as they arise in the hospital. I find the fact that you learn at your own pace and set your own timetable hugely advantageous, I had small children when I first started my course and would not have been able to study full-time. And now I'm working full time but can study when it suits me. It fitted in around my life, which I found extremely beneficial.
