I found myself unemployed after 7.5 years due to a company restructure. It felt like a somewhat amicable breakup, but the thought of job hunting after such a long time was as appealing as getting back into the dating game after a split.

Enter Placement, a service my husband signed me up for to help me revamp my resume, polish my interview skills, and, most importantly, help reorient me as a kick ass professional.

I had multiple coaching sessions with Matylda (she’s great) and worked with her to define my strengths, craft my elevator pitch, review my outdated resume, and tackle tough potential interview questions.

I also used the interview preparation modules before a few rounds of interviews at my new employer. I felt confident, prepared, clear, and supported.

The job search function was not as user friendly as I would have wanted, but overall I am very impressed with the service and have recommended it to several contacts.

If you’re on the fence, jump in! It is absolutely worth it.

November 2021 ... I have been a client of Placement.com for four months. I find the seminars, coaching staff, and overall program content most helpful. I use to send 60 resumes out only to receive one reply. However, now that I have my process is more refined, I receive invitations for telephone interviews one in 40 resumes I send out. I'm writing this 5-star review for James Conti, my career coach and mentor, who assisted me in landing two job offers in machine learning after a slew of meaningful interview calls from the competitive Bay Area and market.

Stuckness is something that happens all the time. For the first time, a situation arose in which I recognized the value of hiring a career coach. It took some time to overcome my fear of seeking help because it made me feel foolish that I had no reason to be concerned and that I would eventually figure it out on my own.

James Conti has an uncanny ability to connect with his clients on a personal level before unleashing their full potential. Seeking a second opinion helped me rediscover my identity and reclaim my self-worth.

James and I worked together on four occasions this year. Their organization and customer focus were excellent. Placement is great! I worked with a coach on job search strategy, interview prep, and negotiations. The job search strategy session was helpful in deciding which roles and companies align with my values and career aspirations. My goal to level up in the next role became clear and I now go into interviews with a framework that squashes imposter syndrome. Will continue to use Placement as my career coach!

Not what I was expecting! My coach did not even take the time to review my resume prior to our meeting. Lack of preparation in a coaching session like this leads to disappointment. She tried to convince me she knew what she was talking about but it was evident she did not. I don't think I will use her again. I left feeling down and disappointed. Not the feeling I was expecting at the end of our session. I don't mind honesty but when it comes from a place of unpreparedness it feels devaluating.

I found the resources and coaching invaluable during my job search. Placement and my coach helped me see that interviewing is a skill I can train like any other. The support I received helped me land a job that I am thrilled about.

I signed up for Placement Pro because I was looking for outstanding professional help. I had recently experience a layoff from a boutique consulting firm and, as part of my severance, had received some assistance from another job transition company. This other company's coaching and support felt a bit too "boilerplate" to address my particular questions.

I started working with Mark Gasche in June 2021 and learned a lot right at the outset. Mark listened to my questions and concerns closely, asked a number of clarifying follow-up questions, and provided honest, reflective feedback based on his experience and depth of expertise in career counseling. He encouraged me to look for opportunities in industry-specific management consulting, and helped me tighten up my answers to interview FAQs. When I began to consider how I would negotiate forthcoming offers, Mark responded very quickly to my Chat messages and walked me through a number of ways to respond to the job titles and compensation levels of the offers.

Eventually I received two offers from highly respected consulting firms and, thanks to some careful negotiation, I was able to get an upgraded job title and an additional $40,000+ to my base salary. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome! I am so, so, so thankful to Mark and the broader Placement team for all their help in getting me to my next role.

After applying for dozens of jobs, my coach at Placement helped me land a dream job in a very short time. The guides were undoubtedly helpful, but mostly, my coach's extra tips were tailored to my situation. My career change dream is now a reality.

I had the chance to work with James and he was more that I had expected to receive from a coach. He is very versed in his field, understands unique situations, and most importantly goes above and beyond. I had been searching for a job for 6 months, 1st round interviewed at 200+ roles and made it to the final round for 60. Maybe ten of those, I was excited for but did not get an offer. After those 6 months, I broke down and bought a membership to Placement.com. My career coach and the placement platform really helped me to zero in on where I was presenting myself poorly and I improved my interview technique. Within 5 weeks, I was able to get a role at a company that I was very excited for.
