My run in with Plastic Stone Records is a mixed bag. I have ordered from them a total of 2 times, the first being a positive experience, the second being one of annoyance and anger.

What drags people in to order off of Plastic Stone Records is the plethora of niche and unique vinyl you can purchase. As someone who is a massive fan of 80s Japanese City Pop, this was a huge plus for me. Paying $120 CAN for a brand new vinyl was worth it compared to paying upwards of $200 or more for a used record on eBay.

My first order with them I ordered Anri's /Timely/, an album I have adored for a long while now. As I was placing my order, I was notified that due to staffing shortages, orders would take a slightly longer time to fulfill. I was okay with this and completed my purchase. A month passes and I receive an email that they have blue prints of /Timely/ and more in stock. I quickly email their customer service to ask that since my order hasn't been shipped yet if I could receive a blue album instead of the default black, to which they obliged happily in a very quick manner. About 3 months later, my vinyl arrives at my house, well packed and in perfect condition. This was the confidence I needed to order from them again.

About 5 months later I notice through a promotional email that they have Tatsuro Yamashita's /For You/ for sale. This was huge for me since Tatsuro Yamashita refuses to put any of his music on to streaming platforms and I was unable to find any vinyl of his while I was in Japan in 2018. Much like last time, I pay the $120 CAN and continue with my life. A couple of months pass, I check up on my order and I hear no word on it, but I think nothing of it. Another couple of months pass, still no updates. Okay... This is getting weird now, but perhaps its just a back log of orders... 6 months go by and I have 0 idea what's going on with my order. The word Scam was the farthest thing from my mind since I had received a product from them before. So I decide to email the information help line for news on my order. I hear nothing back from them. By now a year has gone by and I've sent multiple messages to their help line regarding my order which all seemed to have fallen upon deaf ears. That was until a few days ago where I saw an Instagram ad post from them promoting a new vinyl now in stock. So I commented on it telling potential buyers to be aware of them since I've been waiting over a year for a vinyl now. All of a sudden I get an email from them reply, to the email I sent 6 months ago, stating they have just sent out my order.

The real kicker, however, is that they sent it through standard delivery and for the past month now, Canada Post has been on strike, so it is unknown as to when I will actually get my package, or if I ever will. I respond to them on the Instagram post (Which they responded to also) saying that its great that they have finally sent it after a year, but not choosing a different postal service and instead opting for the one on strike is poor standards, to which they respond "you paid for the 14 euro shipping, DHL or FedEx would cost 40 euros." My main issue here is that this is not my problem. If They had shipped my order within the past year, my package would have arrived in a timely manner. But the fact that they waited until Canada Post was on strike to ship and not change shipping providers after their F*** up is incredibly awful customer service, especially after a YEAR of radio silence.

I am aware that they cannot control the postal strike here in Canada. That is just unfortunate timing for everyone. But many other companies have managed to fulfil orders through the Christmas season while Canada Post is on strike. For them to place this issue on me with "You only paid for standard shipping" is honestly insulting. THEY had all the power in the world to not only send my package, which i paid for, within a reasonable time, but also communicate with me as to why it was taking so long. But instead, they chose to ignore me until i started to shame them publicly.

Do not get me wrong, the first product I received from them was extremely high quality and I couldn't be any happier with it. This is the only thing stopping it from getting a 1 star. But this second run in has left such a sour taste in my mouth I cannot whole heartedly recommend this company. Once this strike is over and I (hopefully) get my second vinyl, depending on the shape of its arrival will depend on my final verdict for this company, but i don't see it getting much higher than it is now, nor do i think I will ever be ordering from them again considering how they treat their customers now.

Ordered an vinyl, after one month and two kind mails no reaction from the seller. I am a patient buyer, but a total lack of communication is a `no go` for a seller! I even tried to call them, but the phone number doesn`t work...
After a paypal complaint the seller reacted instantly and I got a refund...

Have been trying to cancel my order. No reply to emails or chat messages. If they don't reply soon I’m going to have to go down the charge back route.

scam, like everyone else has said, i ordered a record and still months later nothing. I emailed them a few times and was told it was gonna be sent within a few days and that never happened and now they wont respond, feels like im black listed or something. Do not recommend

UPDATE: After 4 months of waiting and no word from them (3 months after they said they would send it "the next day"), and only 2 weeks after leaving a negative review I got the tracking. Seems a little convenient to me. Still wouldn't recommend since it seems like to actually get what you ordered you have to go online and actively shame them for their practices.

Scam. Bought a record from them months ago, and received confirmation, but record was never sent. Contacted support multiple times, no reply. Tried to contact them on Instagram, and they blocked me. Avoid!

Scam!!! Never buy there. Bought a vinyl months ago, only received a order confirmation. After writing the support weeks ago, I still haven’t heard anything from them. Very disappointing

I think that the problem with Video game soundtracks is, that they aim at an audience who is NOT aware that sometimes, Pre order for a vinyl can be long, very long ! They are Video games fans, not vinyls fans.

Plus, i think this company is handle by one or two people max and it could be quite hard to handle a business like that with Factory hiccups for the LP or editors being late etc etc .
I have bought more than 15 vinyls on their website.
ZERO problems !

When i called them ? they answered, same with Emails ( sometimes you must send a few because they are crawling under lots of others mails )

One order have been late for more than a year and guess what ? I've received it, and PLUS with a little gift LP for the gesture.

YES, Plastic Stone Records is a fine Online Record Store !

This site is a scam. Don't be fooled.
I've order 3 vinyls 6 month ago.
One was a pre order supposed to be delivered in the current month.
No news from them.
A few months later, the vinyl was still in pre order with the estimated shipped date barely changing (even if the date was past)
I've send many email to understand or fix the issue.
They promised me the order will be send in the following week every time.
I never received anything.

Ordered a record, waited allmost 2 months for shipping, nothing, no responds from emails etc.
Will never buy again

I am waiting an order of more than a year. I have tried to contact with them on several occasions. I have phoned them, written emails, contacted by chat and there has been no way to get an answer. Scam company.

Pre-ordered a vinyl, was meant to ship March. I had to contact 12+ times to follow up with them as they did not contact me after the order was placed. When I finally got it, it was not the vinyl I ordered. I asked for a refund and got no response. Order #9124 if anyone from Plastic Stone sees this.

Update: they tried to flag this review and take it down. Do not give them your money

I'd recommend to everyone else with this type of experience to report them to Shopify as they are breaking the terms of service. This is the only way to prevent them scamming in the future.

Everything's fine! I recently received my order. I was aware that it was a pre-order and that release dates can be postponed. Shipping was fast after final availability and the record was well packed.

First my order wasn’t shipped in months, then I canceled my order cause I bought it somewhere else. I didn’t get my money back, instead it got send anyway. Now they are not providing me with a return shipping label and I’m stuck with an order of about 140€ that I don’t need or want anymore. On the phone they promise solutions but nothing happens. Mails don’t get answered at all.

Ordered a vinyl that was marked as in-stock on the 6th of July. Their website says 99% of in stock items ship within 24 hours and mines did not, which isn't a big deal, I just figured they'd ship it within the week so that's just business. The product has not moved and there's been no updates 4 weeks later. I sent them a message on the 16th asking for a refund as I'm no longer interested. The messages have been ignored and I've gotten no response. At this point I just want my refund for an item I have not received. Will try to escalate this further because it just feels disrespectful to make such a claim as "we ship 99% of orders within 24h" knowing that the evidence is clearly speaking to the contrary from the reviews. We're not all the one percent who's order not only don't ship within the timeframe but don't ship for weeks and sometimes months.

One of the worst buying experiences I’ve had in my life. Ordere a preorder vinyl last year which was supposed the be shipped this year in February. Never got any update, tried to contact them several times through email, chatbot call etc. but no answer at all. Then I opened a conflict through PayPal in mai and got a reply immediately that the vinyl will be shipped the exact week, but never got it. Opened a new conflict and got the money back. This shops customer service is absolutely garbage and the contacts and replies are absolutely scam. I would never ever buy there again nor recommend anyone from buying.

The customer journey is a shame ... I ordered 3 vinyls in december 2023, and i had to fight to get part of my order. I had to send multiple mails (without any answer) and discuss with their chatbot (finally reached customer service). I got a refund 6 mounths later ! what a pitiful service ... avoid bying from them and check correct shops like black screen records

SCAM. They will not reply to any correspondence until you file a complaint against them. Then, they will contact you immediately, offering excuses and lying about how records are shipping any second now. Spoiler alert: You're never going to see those records. I had dozens of attempts to contact them through official channels go unanswered for FIVE WHOLE months, but when I left negative comments on their Facebook, warning they were scammers, I was blocked within 10 minutes despite it being the middle of the night in their country. Avoid this company like the plague, I guarantee every single positive review on here was posted by them.

The order there is a complete odyssey. I ordered 5 vinyls im December '23 for an birthday in February '24.
It's a hardship to receive any person from customer service. When your lucky enough they might be online when chatting, but the chance is rare..after asking so many times one vinyl was canceled, the others should have been sent with a dpd-tracking number in February
But the courier lost the package, I never received it so, but the company never opened a case at the delivery company. There are insurance, that would have take hold on. But nothing. I tried many times with chat or email. I reached them one time, they told me to send it again, I asked for a refund, never heard of them and I had to pay the money because the never opened the case at dpd. This company seems like a big scam
This is not how to do business.

Wide selection of quite rare records. Great packaging. I received parcel packed in double cardboard and waterproof wrap.

Maybe they had a bad reputation in the past, but I ordered 11-4 ( A record that was sold out everywhere in the world) and received it 19-4. So it only took like 6 work days.

I don't think the low rating is fair... I would recommand them.
