We have dealt with Regions Bank for…
We have dealt with Regions Bank for more than 15 years. Until about a year and a half ago, we had no problems or complaints. Since that time there have been numerous problems. We planned to move out of state and I requested a credit card limit increase from $5000.00 to $8000.00. Knowing we would have additional charges with the move. Having a FICO score of over 800, and always paying my card charges IN FULL each month and on time, I was shocked that my request was denied. From there everything went downhill. I had charges to setup new car insurance, house insurance, etc.. As soon as a bill came in on the card, I would promptly pay so the next bill would go through. Regions decided to "put a hold" on the funds I paid for 10 days, leaving me with no ability to pay for the car insurance. I talked with several representatives to request the hold be removed. But it was like talking to a wall. This was the first of many more problems. Last March I had a disputed charge on my credit card. The representative gave me the email address to use to send in the claimed dispute. I submitted that claim in an email 11 times, only to be told each time they didn't have it. (I sent a copy to other people and all received with no problem) The bank then gave me the mailing address so I could send in through regular mail. You guessed it, they didn't receive that either. They told me the 3rd option was to go to a branch office with the paperwork. The closest branch to our new location is an hour away. So,I did what they were hoping for. I gave up on getting the disputed amount back. Now, my latest problem is being able to claim my 50,000 reward points from my Regions Visa card. Even though the bank has my current address and all mail has come here for the last 15 months, their points system still shows my old address for redeeming the points. Last week I was on the phone with Regions Bank for well over an hour, being transfered from dept. to dept., put on hold over and over again. The last dept. said they would correct the problem, but it would take 3 business days. That was last week. As of today, 6 days later, still not fixed. Calling today, went through the same run around. Now, in 72 hours all will be corrected. So they say. I have come to the conclusion that if Regions has to part with any money, it's going to be pulling teeth for that to happen. I'm sure they hope it will be like the credit card dispute and I'll just give up on it. Not without a fight. The 50,000 points equal $500.00 rewards. When this is settled, I am SO GONE!! This was the last straw for me.
This bank held my money hostage
This bank held my money hostage. I moved to Washington in 2023. When I attempted to transfer my checking and money market accounts to a bank here they kept transferring me to different people with contradicting information. After a week of this I gave up and began a different process to get my money out of their bank. When I eventually emptied my accounts and tried to close them a representative transferred me to a moving company in Tennessee. Don’t put your money in this bank!
This bank is a JOKE
This bank is a JOKE. Customer service have no idea what they are doing very unprofessional. I talked to various employees and every single one gives me different information. They blocked my company account for 1 week without having access to my money. I had to put my company on Hold for 1 week because they locked my account, when I called customer service they said I needed to see my nearest branch. I was 2 hours away and the day I went the manager said she had no idea why they sent me there because they couldn’t help me their either that we had to summit a ticket and in 24-48 hours someone will get back to me. We summited the ticket and summited a complaint and no one ever reached out to me, EVER!! HORRIBLE company extremely unprofessional and don’t care about their customers.
Indianapolis Pendleton pike branch is a…Waste of time, teller in Florida committed fraud
Indianapolis Pendleton pike branch is a joke. The branch manager has passed the buck on a situation we have been dealing with for 2 weeks. Several excuses no solutions. He claims he was not aware of anything. Pleads ignorance. So he is stating the several tellers we have dealt with in person are lying to us. Money taken from our account for 2 weeks still nothing. We have filed the correct paperwork have copies of it and he is clueless. Never experienced this type of situation with previous branch manager. How long do I have to wait?
They will ruin your credit
They will ruin your credit! Even if you're sending payments on time, they will report false information to the Credit Bureaus! This is by far the worst Mortgage company i have ever dealt with!

I opened a checking account a week ago
I opened a checking account a week ago. I still don’t have access to mobile online banking. I’ve been given 2 different customer numbers to set it up which neither of them worked. I’m getting frustrated and thinking about staying with my credit union.
Regions is not your friendly neighborhood bank
If Regions Bank was in human form, you would not want to be friends or have anything to do with them. My beefs are too many to list here. But I have a few.
1) We sent them a pre written payoff (refi bill consolidation so I didn't write the check) for a loan we had. The check happened to be .75 short out of ~nine thousand dollars. Not only did they not apply the payoff to the account because it was seventy-five cents short, they made no notification, they just let the check float around. A month later, "what happened to that payment.." called regions they had no excuse but they did wave the seventy-five cents, with no apology.
2) They re-arrange debit timeframes, so that if the account is low they can cause two transactions to decline (and charge thirty-eight bucks each) instead of one. They now, in the fine print state they can rearrange debits however they want, as to maximize their penalty income.
So now I come to the end of my regions relationship. I ask for a cashiers check for the balance of my closing account, so I can deposit in a better bank.
As one last F-you, they write a regular check, (now they get to keep my money for one last day) instead of a cashiers check which is equivalent to cash. So, even though it is my cash money, I can't get to it for another twenty-four hours. They also (as a policy matter) refused to verify the check they wrote literally fifteen minutes earlier. They stated (to the new bank teller calling to verify) they don't verify their checks over the phone - bank to bank
Every single employee I have dealt with in person is great, polite, & easy to work with. However the Regions culture is that of screw the client, we will take every single penny in every creative way that we can. They have lost multiple class action lawsuits because they are so dishonest, unscrupulous, and disingenuous.
If you have a relationship with regions for more than a couple of years, I guarantee they will screw you over some kind of way in a attempt to get their hands on as much of your money as they can.
I know banks are obviously in this business for the money, but regions has no moral compass when it comes to customer appreciation, They don't even pretend to care about their customers.
Nicole Pezo is AMAZING
Nicole Pezo is what made my visit amazing! I have very little knowledge of my business financial options. Because of her kind spirit and great knowledge of her business, I left feeling that I had accomplished something. She equipped me with tools that in 3 years of business I had not received! All because she cares!!❤️
Bye bye
I have been a loyal Regions customer for 20 years. A restaurant recently charged me several times for the same check. It was screamingly obvious that it was not an authentic charge — the exact same amount was run through twice in rapid succession, and later another three times in rapid succession. I disputed the charge to Regions. Only two business days later, I already received a letter saying that as I could not prove that I did NOT make the charges (how was I supposed to do that?) their “investigation” was closed, and my money would not be restored to my account.
So, basically, my Regions debit card is now useless, as it’s clear they will not restore (or even really investigate) fraudulent charges. I will be closing the 4 accounts my family holds there.
Do not choose Regions Bank as your…
Do not choose Regions Bank as your financial institution. Several different apps encounter problems when selecting Regions Bank or find that Regions Bank is not even a recognized option. Additionally, if you have your account open for 179 days and not at least 180 days, Regions Bank will withhold at least $25.00 per account without disclosing the information beforehand; they give no warning of this $25 fee for each account. It is not mentioned by their representatives, in the email confirming your account closure, or even in the letter with your cashier's check. Your cashier's check will just be $25 short, or if you have one account with less than a $25 balance, you won't receive a check at all, and you'll have to call to find out. When you do call, after being kept on hold for 15 minutes, they will inform you there is nothing that can be done, so you're just out $25 per account for not waiting a day longer to close your account. Terrible service! Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy giving away money to a bank with dubious practices.

I would not recommend this bank our account was hit with charges for 7 months we were told was insurance premiums but when we found out we dont have a premium we disputed the charges and they said there was nothing they can do because it was past 60 days. But when you dont find out until after 7 months there was not 1 . They are scammers run from this bank do not use them.
Screeching witch
I was offended by a screeching loud-mouth manager at the Rosenberg branch, who I was told her name was Homa when I asked. Why would a manager be conducting herself in that manner while a customer or customers are in this branch. If she has anything to say to any of her employees, she can be discreet. She yelled on the floor and belittled her staff, omg. The staff just shook their heads of what I saw as if they are used to it. I cannot believe Regions has her as a manager. Are you that desperate? I may have to find a different branch or a different bank altogether for my money.
When I went home, I spoke with a friend of mine who banks with Regions as well and he told me he has been in the branch and has witnessed it himself. My friend does not like going to this branch because of this screeching woman yet will visit only out of necessity.
Very disappointed in Regions
Very disappointed in Regions. We have been customers for years. We having been trying to get our deposit back that we were charged for a car rental at the end of July. The deposit was refundable. We have gotten the runaround. We submitted everything to Regions to dispute this charge and get our refund back. Their response was why do you think you should get a refund? Seriously it was a refundable deposit. We have emails from them the car company stating they owe us the refund. But have not received anything. You would think your bank has your back...wrong. About done with Regions.
This bank will not refund money when…
This bank will not refund money when you are hacked. They hold your checks longer than most establishments. The hours are short. Never helpful when you have issues. Direct deposits are later than other banks. This bank needs to step into this century.
Just became a customer this week…
Update: My account is now inactive randomly due to a branch level hold. The hold in question you ask? Apparently the bill I provided for resident/identity verification is not on my account. I’ve been using the account for almost a month now without any issue. Things are getting even more sus.
Just became a customer this week because of an offer I received in the mail. Now I’m pretty sure that offer will not be honored since there’s no record of it on my account, even after following the steps on the offer. However, it’s my experience with the policies that has made me write this review. I opened my account online but went into a branch to make the opening deposit. The branch bankers were actually very sweet but apparently I did not make the correct qualifying deposit amount (It’s $50 for the account I open, I gave the banker $40). I received a debit card instantly and deposited an additional $1150 into the account via instant transfer. 1 day later the account is still not active due to a $10 difference and the only way I found this out was by calling. Apparently instant transfers are not instant and subject to 3-5 day holds. My online banking is misleading because my available balance is $1185, but really it’s just $40 and that’s not available either because the account isn’t even active. I’m curious how multiple deposit transactions can be made but withdrawal transactions aren’t active. I’ve never had this experience with any bank and will be returning all my funds to my credit union asap.
Horrible bank
Always changing policies and the fine print. My money is never avaible and always tied up in something about 24 hour waits and processing.
Watch out if you deposit checks into your account
It is interesting that after using the Regions bank for more than 2 years, my checks deposited into my account are still put on a 10 day's hold. Also the employees do not know how to read their rules. Met an African American Female cashier in Brookhaven branch GA and she was so clueless. I know I am leaving the bank in 2 weeks after my check clears. Good luck you all.
They are horrible. Last bank to pay back TARP money.
They are horrible! Last bank to pay back the TARP money. That says it all!
Regions Bank Put My Life at Risk - Despicable Treatment of an Elderly Woman in Need
I am a disabled woman living in New York, and I’m absolutely horrified by the treatment I received from Regions Bank. I’ve been a loyal customer for over years, but when I needed them the most, they turned their back on me in the most heartless way imaginable.
Recently, I was diagnosed with a life-threatening condition that required immediate surgery. The doctor bills piled up, and I desperately needed to transfer funds from my Regions account to cover the expenses. Imagine my shock and terror when I found out that Regions had locked my account, frozen my assets, and blocked my access to Zelle, leaving me completely helpless at a time when my life was literally hanging in the balance.
I tried to resolve the issue over the phone, explaining my dire situation. I begged them to help me transfer the funds so I could pay for my surgery. Their response? Cold, indifferent, and downright cruel. They refused to close my account or release my funds unless I traveled to their nearest branch—in Florida! I live in New York! How is an elderly woman, struggling with health issues, supposed to make such a long journey just to fix a problem that they created?
Their so-called customer service showed zero compassion, zero understanding, and zero humanity. They told me that there was nothing they could do unless I showed up in person, as if my health and life didn’t matter to them at all. I was left feeling utterly abandoned by a bank that I had trusted for two decades.
Regions Bank, how dare you treat your customers like this? How dare you put my life at risk because of your bureaucratic nonsense? I hope others see this review and think twice before banking with you. No one should have to go through the nightmare I experienced. You almost cost me my life.
Shame on you, Regions Bank. Shame on you.
