I use SD for my yearly boiler maintenance and occasional fixes. They usually have somebody available in a few days, the engineers arrive on time, and they always get the job done.

Update to previous review:

I have amended this from 2.5 stars to 4 which now feels like a fair reflection. Following my review, I received a follow up call from Shaun the MD. He was concerned about my feedback and was genuinely interested in understanding what could have made my experience better. He listened to each point I raised and discussed some ways it could be improved next time round. In my opinion, if more companies actually took the time to reach out to customers, it goes a long to building trust which in turn provides repeat business and positive word of mouth. I also wanted to re- emphasise my previous feedback wasn’t in relation to the work that was carried out and I think it’s important to make that clear as there was no issue with the work while the guys were here or the quality of the work. Taking the time to contact me has gone a long way and would help me consider now using this company in the future.

Genuinely confused with these reviews, which is disappointing as that’s why I selected this company in the first place

I’ll start with the few positives:

My first appointment was booked in for first thing next day, great as the work was pretty urgent
The actual jobs completed by the onsite plumbers was good, no complaints about the actual standard (though only complete today so time will tell tell!)

Other than that….

They only provide the initial job 45 mins to 1 hours which means 9 times out of 10 you have to wait on a follow up appointment. Mines was offered until a further 5 days and was asked to ‘avoid’ using my bathroom over that period….

The first boy who came up who identified the leak said someone could possibly come up later that day, on the Saturday or his words worst case Monday…..having to wait till Wed with limited bathroom facilities was less than ideal.

For the initial house call and the subsequent work I was quoted over £900. I had a leak on the joining pipe between the sink and toilet and also the seal needed replaced on the shower. It was quoted between 4-5 hours or work.

The men arrived at 8.05 and left at 11.10. Some things quoted didn’t need to happen therefore I queried why the quote was the same when it took significantly less time and effort. I sent this from my work email as it’s a work day, and got a passive aggressive response stating as I worked in finance I should understand the nature of quotes etc. I was also told it has entered the 4th hour. Mental gymnastics if you ask me as for the sake of 5 mins. The good will gesture of taking £75 off was applied. Would avoid using this company again, and had I known both the wait to get the work done, and also the cost I would have went elsewhere. I didn’t have time on side due to the impact to my neighbours but hopefully others can read this as a tale of caution before booking.

SD plumbing staff were prompt always on time. Did a great job from start to finish, The fitter Craig was so helpful and thorough and kept the mess to a minimal clearing up at the end of every day. Jobs don't always go to plan through no fault of the fitter or the household but when any issues did arise, Dan and his team were right on it, no fuss and resolved the issue. i Highly recommend them.

Fantastic service. New shower fitted within days of calling and received helpful advice about the best and cheapest option with clear quote. Very helpful, polite and tidy young man fitted the shower and took away rubbish. Would definitely use again!

I recently had a new combi boiler fitted, with the old hot and cold water tanks completely removed, and I couldn't be happier with the service from start to finish.

The plumbers were professional, friendly, and extremely hardworking. They carried out the installation to a very high standard, kept everything clean and tidy throughout, and left the house spotless when the job was completed.

What impressed me most was the value for money. After speaking to friends and neighbours who have had similar work done elsewhere, I found the price to be significantly better while still receiving first-class workmanship and service.

The whole job was completed efficiently, with excellent attention to detail, and nothing was too much trouble. It's refreshing to find tradespeople who genuinely care about their customers and take real pride in their work.

I would highly recommend this company to anyone considering a new boiler installation or plumbing work. Great service, excellent value, and a fantastic team of guys.

I called SD and got an early appointment Lee came, found the leak and sorted it in short order .

After getting my bathroom totally installed decided to get my kitchen and flooring fitted by SD plumbing in hall and living room absolutely delighted with result Craig was super professional polite and friendly can’t state how beautiful the place is definitely recommend 100 percent will be getting guys in to do all my internal doors also !

Jake came to service my boiler and check my radiators today and I was very impressed by his excellent service. Jake is professional and very knowledgeable about everything, as well as being friendly and cheerful. Nothing was too much trouble for him and I was grateful for his expertise and advice concerning other work that is required. I would not hesitate to recommend Jake and SD Plumbing and Heating - I have used them in the past and I will certainly be using them in the future.

Our first time using SD plumbing and they were excellent. Unlike other companies they respond back to you immediately and give you options of appointment times. Which in our case was 2 days later. The plumber was on time and was quick to diagnose and fix our issue. Very happy with the price too. Highly recommend!

I needed a boiler service for a new flat and chose SD Plumbing and Heating due to their good reviews and testimonials online.

The entire experience with them was good — the enquiry process was quick and efficient, and I got an appointment a couple days later at a time I chose.

Jake arrived bang on time and quickly got to work. He explained the couple of issues he found, did what he could there to mitigate/improve one and what would be involved to fix the other. Overall very clear advice and clearly not trying to upsell unnecessary work, even when I misinterpreted him and asked about it.

I'll definitely be using again!

Really great service. Turned up promptly (after keeping in touch by text so we knew he was on his way), identified and fixed the problem very quickly and skilfully and put everything back together perfectly when finished. A big relief to have the problem fixed.

We used SD Plumbing for the first time, this week.
They were straightforward to deal with over the phone, offering a quick appointment slot.

All confirmed by email and Douglas attended 20 minutes early, on the day.
Both issues in the bathroom (flush and sink drain) were efficiently dealt with in under half an hour.

We would recommend SD and will use them again when we upgrade our kitchen.

The price was affordable and transparent from the start, I couldn’t recommend them enough! As a new homeowner, this is the first time I’ve used SD. I was given an estimate of 2 hours for diagnosis/repair for a radiator leak, boiler repair+service, and a clogged shower. Lee got it all done within 45 minutes. He was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He automatically took time to describe the problem, how it’s fixed, and what I can do to stop it happening again. He was also happy to answer my (many) questions. Well worth the money.

Not easy to find a plumber for smaller jobs so I was really happy to find these guys. Joe was friendly and professional, arrived 5 minutes early and fitted a new shower quickly and with no fuss or mess. Would recommend 😊

Douglas arrived to undertake the work & did a really excellent job. He took the time to do the job properly, took no shortcuts & made sure that the system had no airlocks before departing (the system had to be drained down).
