Rubbish - most items are faulty. I thought I would try Simon Charles, but after spending over £1,000 and most of the stuff ended up in the bin, I will NOT be back. I will stick to buying from Supreme Auctions
Bought a lot which was pictures of boxes of item coffee machines, monitors, air fryers etc. everything single item ripped apart bar one lamp. Wires cut on both air fryer, One box contained 2 plastic sides of coffee machine that’s it. Emailed to complain, nothing can be done as per terms and conditions, you could literally be buying empty boxes and nothing you can do about it to which they didn’t disagree with ,There was plugs cut off motors ripped out. Basically it cost me money to take their rubbish to the tip which conveniently is around the corner. No customer service what’s so ever. If I could add photos to the review to show how bad it is I would. Staff couldn’t care less unfortunately will not be using again and will encourage family and friends to do the same. Might aswell set your money on fire.
All these types of auctions are operated by dishonest people who try and get as much as they can for damaged items and retail returns. Whether it’s this mob, john pye or any of the others. The difference with Simon Charles is, unlike John Pye ..SIMON CHARLES KNOWINGLY SELL COUNTERFEIT ITEMS..! Fake designer trainers, fake perfume, fake jackets. These are imported from vendors in turkey, China etc and placed on the site with the quote “due to the nature of how we aquire goods, Simon Charles cannot guarantee authenticity” ..they KNOW the items are fake but think for some reason that this disclaimer covers them lol IT IS ILLEGAL TO SELL COUNTERFEIT PRODUCTS UNLESS PERMISSION HAS BEEN GRANTED BY THE BRAND OWNER. I’m quite sure the haven’t had the green light from Louis Vuitton !! I informed them that I wished to return all the fake items and they tried the ‘sold as seen’ and disclaimer bull, im a retailer though so I knew they obviously didn’t have a leg to stand on. Eventually after speaking to the manager and him realising that I was well versed in trading standards, they reluctantly refunded the £640 that I paid for the 3 pairs of fake trainers. BEWARE.
Shocking. Avoid! Bid and paid for several iPads. This company sent me a box of sky boxes instead. I sent evidence of their wrongdoing and completely blanked me. Now having to take legal action.
Do not bother with this company. The fees are so high as well as postage being expensive. They don't even sell items that are complete.
No a good service with this Auction house! They normally would send you an email about collection or text I received nothing went up 72 hours after buying the item as I had no correspondence and they have reposted the item and sold it again and refused a refund! Be VERY careful buying off this site. There are a lot of more reliable and honest auction houses around the Manchester area! I won’t be buying here again and I’ve spent a lot of money previously here
Charges have risen steeply, as have delivery costs. Purchased an item for £5 which grew to £16.67, with auction charges & delivery. I now know the item to be a faulty customer return to Amazon. Needless to say, it doesn't work. Be warned that many of the items for sale are damaged or broken retailer returns. Ironically, the item I bought can be purchased brand new on eBay for £15!
I wasn't impressed. Took ages for the stuff I bought to arrive. I bid on the same product several times just to insure that I got at least one at a decent price. I won the item and when I went to pay for it the said the order was cancelled! Apparently I had to pay the invoice within an hour! That's freaking ridiculous what are people supposed to do when they are at work!? not to mention that I was seriously ill that week with covid! Honestly I just think they wanted to relist the items because I got them too cheaply.
Thankfully, I did not see the reviews before using the service. My experience has been great and way better than I expected. Note that It is an "auction".
The bad reviews are over the top. It seems users fail to read the product description and dive head-first into bids.
Read the item description and ask for an evaluation if you are unsatisfied.
I do not have any experience with returns.
I purchased something from Simon Charles at a considerable price with reassurances that it was complete after reading the description. I was shocked to receive the item today with multiple missing parts as well as the item looking COMPLETELY different to the pictures. I am so disappointed as I have used Simon Charles for years now and spent thousands of pounds and now feel that I can not trust them any further and will now be using any different auction service as none can be as terrible as Simon Charles.
Steer clear, read the reviews and dont waste your money - they sell broken rubbish and overcharge you for posting, buying fees and will send a bag of broken items
SHAME ON THEM FRAUDESTER
ALL BROKEN STUFF
IT IS NOT AUCTION IT IS A JOKE
THROW UR MONEY INTO BIN
RATHER THAN GIVING THESE SCAMMER
I gave up using Them years ago. All they sell IS catalogue customer returns. How they are still in business I'll never know. AVOID AT ALL COST.
They deliberately hide damages and imperfections
Once you bought it, they wont accept return
Also you pay 'premium member' fee £19.99 to have opportunity to buy junk. Not mention £200 deposit, if you keen to risk buying more expensive junk!
AVOID. THEIR FEEDBACK TELLS YOU ALL. YOU HAVE MORE CHANCES TO WIN EUROMILLION RATHER THAN BUYING YOUR MONEY WORTH ITEM
It's an auction house. You take your chances. I'd never buy a screen that isn't shown working but I wish I lived near Manchester for those furniture auctions. I'd be a rich man
Awful experience. I bid for and won a marble table. Picked up two boxes from the Stanley Depot. Handed to me off the side of a jetty in the rain so placed in the car and drove home where I immediately opened to find I have two boxes of legs… no table top! Contacted the Auctioneer… response … tough!! 170 wasted! I have since aroused the interest of a law firm. If you have had a similar experience and YOUR ITEM WAS MATERIALLY DIFFERENT TO WHAT WAS DESCRIBED IN THE CATALOGUE please drop me an email.
Don't believe description its all lie. Laptop saying its have 256gb ssd 8 gb ram i5 7200u, arrived with a burnt motherboard and no components. galaxy Buds+ cant connect both at the same time Or you listen right and no left or you listen left no right... And I iphone 7. icloud locked, stolen!
On the basis that the company states these are untested product returns, I have ordered three items which have all been faulty and accepted my fate. So, in my opinion, the odds are against receiving a usable item and I give up.
Something else to consider is that the items are sent dirty if they have been used. Again, you might expect this, but might not have considered it, and I'm just drawing your attention to it.
One of my items was an Amazon return. Amazon sell customer returns through their Warehouse section if they possibly can, so if they end up with this company (my opinion) is that they won't work.
So, I've stuck to the facts and you must make your choice, but my advice - based solely on my experience - is to set your expectations very low of a bargain, or don't bother.
I absolutely had to balance out the terrible reviews on here. I had never used auctions before and was terrified to read the reviews AFTER I'd bid for £730 worth of things (this included all the fees and postage. I comforted myself knowing that I had read that these were customer returns and have the common sense to know they were returned for a reason. I had gone through the pictures really carefully, zooming in and having the sense to check their new value online for comparison. They were all pics of the exact item (no catalogue images) and tended to show any areas of damage. I personally would never buy something that was just a generic image and I see this is what a lot of people have taken issue with. Additionally, I ONLY bought things that I knew I could fix. For example, I bought numerous, beautiful, high end lamps knowing that, so long as they weren't smashed (and i could see they weren't from the images) that the worse that could happen if they didn't work is I'd need to change a switch or wire.
Honestly, if you have basic skills with a screwdriver, WD40 and, at most, a soldering iron, you will have no problems. That being said, I had brought with the expectation of receiving items that didn't work. We’ll, so far I have received nearly all of my orders and they are AMAZING! most are perfect and I cannot, for the life of me, figure why they were returned. One lamp has no shade (which I knew) but the lamp itself is so much more beautiful than i could imagine and i would have chosen my own shade anyway. I bought a GHD hairdryer worth £130 for about £6. it squealed when turned on...i put a bit of WD40 on it....fixed. A brand new GHD hairdryer for pennies just for having some common sense. bargain!! I wouldn't say it has been completely smooth sailing with a misundertsanding at one point but I will say that I have mailed and called with questions and every time I have been seen to right away. I have spent £730 on items worth over 2.5k. I had to kit out an entire apartment in one go and this has made the difference between function and beauty AND saved so much money! I am very happy. Please don't be put off. If you're willing to put your thinking cap on and be THOROUGH you'll be happy! I’ll put some pictures up of my items when I have time to take them all back out again.
If I could give 0 stars I would . You can’t inspect the goods and they are broken and do not work . It is an auctioning goods that are completely defected . Avoid
