Had solar installed with smart Energy. Max and Matty were great explaining what they were doing and advice on getting an ev charger in the future. Made sure everything was left tidy. Would highly recommend!

Jason and Mackenzie and the Electricians ( I didn't catch their names) were polite and friendly. They were punctual and efficient and did a very professional job. The Solar Panels look great. The Electricians went out of their way to try and sort out my internet when they didn't have to. The Solar Panels will reduce my bills dramatically and it'll help the Environment.

A pleasant surprise to deal with a company that is honest enough to say what they can or cannot do. Very friendly and patient in responding to our countless concerns and re-quotation requests. Very competitive and highly recommended.

Got a quote from them, had a call in which they asked for a follow up.
I was going on holiday, so I warned them I'd have to defer a call and would get in touch afterwards.
Upon returning from my holiday, I tried to reach out to them by email, by WhatsApp, by responding "follow up" on the quote in their website portal, and by trying to start a new quote, and I received nothing substantial.
The WhatsApp AI scheduled a call for me the same day, but I never had a call. When I complained about this to the AI, it said it will put me in touch with a member of the team, which hasn't happened either.
I still haven't had a response to my email or from my second inquiry. I haven't had a response from following up on the quote portal when I tried the "chat with us" button or when I tried the "book a free home survey".

If this is their pre sales service, I expect very poor after sales support from them.

We previously gave a great review to this company, however, one year on with have some issues which we want putting right. Firstly, where the downstairs window was plastered/insulated the banging has caused the windows to come away from the sills, and as a consequence we have a leak! Secondly, after contacting Ofgem, it has been noted that not enough insulation points were put on our windows. We have tried to communicate with Smart Energy, sending photos of the faults, but there has been no communication to date. We feel this is a shame as originally the work was done to an excellent standard, but one year on a few flaws have arisen, and it would appear that no-one wishes to come and fix them.

I had an Air Source Heat Pump, Solar Panels, and Battery, installed by Smart Energy Homes in July 2026. Right from my first indicial contact with the company I was impressed. Energy Saving Advisor, Ms Phoebe Bassett kept me informed at every stage of the installation. She was friedly, professional, pacient, and supportive throughout and beyond the installation process, and showed a maturity way beyond her years.

I was extremely impressed by the installation engineers. Heating Engineers Jay, Charlie, and Ieaun, and Electricians Liam, and Diane. They showed an exemplary work ethic while working in very difficult circumstances due to the heat. In the bathroom alone the temperature exceeded 35 degrees, and heaven only knows what the temperature was in the loft space. The Solar Panel Engineers, Jay and Jayson had to suffer in the full heat of the day, on my south facing roof. Other than to take on water, I don't think I saw any of them them take a break.

All works were carried out to a very high standard, and I was put to the minimum inconvenience and disruption. All the above mentioned have renewed my faith in the younger generation and are exemplary ambassadors for Smart Energy Homes. At the end of the day I have a City and Guilds Craft Certificate in plumbing, and was a regular and reserve soldier for 30 years. One of my last appointments was a Squadron Sergeant Major, responsible for the Training, Welfare, and Discipline of 150 personnel, therefore I am not an easy man to impress.

Avoid at all costs!! Heat pump Survey!!
This company is so unprofessional that it’s a joke,
They came out and did a survey, took all my details, I was able to have the £9000 government grant as I have oil boiler

A couple of days past and I received my quotation/proposal, reading through it all the information that I had provided was incorrect, the important figures ie how much oil I used per year etc had been inflated by 200% and then the energy saving I would get looked fantastic?
The covering letter stated that all I would need to pay an additional £190 to have the heat pump installed, the proposal, it stated that I needed to pay an additional £692.50?
I queried this with the company and they admitted a mistake had been made and that they would honour the £190 quote.
I had specifically stated with the engineer during the survey that I wanted the new water tank to be fitted in the same location my current one is, I was told that there would be a built in allowance to cover pipe work and that would cover fitting the tank where I wanted it fitted.
Again checking to make sure the information for the new tank locates on the survey I found it wasn’t? I contacted Smart Energy Homes to question this issue and was advised that the tank would be fitted in my garage where they will remove my oil boiler from its easier for them? I told them that I want the tank to be fitted where my original tank was located, or I wasn’t going to proceed, I was assured not to worry and the tank would be fitted where I wanted it to be fitted?
Due to all the issues I had already faced with Smart Energy Homes I was less than impressed, I said to the rep on the phone that I really had no confidence in the company and that I would leave it for now, I was then told that everything would be fine, done exactly as I wanted it and that the saving figures would be the same and the rep then went on to try and explain his way out of the incorrect figures, at this point I said, how about you knock the £190 of and just do it for the grant amount as to me it would be obvious they would have put in a high price as the government is paying, the rep said he would go back to his boss and ask.
I while later I had a tx message, not a phone call to say they would not reduce the price by £190, I replied to the tx message with a thumbs up and left it at that.
Now comes the really unbelievable string of events!!
I started to receive phone calls, the first one asked me if I had now decided to go ahead, I said I had not but if they wanted to knock the £190 off then I would proceed, again they stated they were not prepared to reduce the price, which is fair enough so i said I would leave it and get some more quotes.
I then got a few more calls over the next couple of weeks and they all went the same way, asking me if I had decided to proceed, I said no, at the time I had not got around to getting any more quotes so I said the same thing, knock the £190 and I will proceed, I had the same answer of no, so I said please don’t phone anymore, if I were to change my mind I will contact you, I am disabled and had been busy with hospital and Drs appointments so hadn’t gotten around to getting any more quotes and I had had quite enough of Smart Energy Homes harassing me.
Great so I thought that was the end of that, but I should have known!!
A bout a week went past with out any calls and then a few days ago I got a call from Smart Energy Homes, this time it was from Andrew Caldwell the Principal Commercial Manager.
They had now called in the big guns to close the deal.
The conversation went the same was as before, I explained all the issues I had had and that I had no faith in his company, Mr Caldwell then went on to explain away all the issues, he was a lot more knowledgeable than previous reps I had spoken to, he wrapped up the quite lengthy conversation by stating “ am I right that you won’t proceed unless we knock the £190 off the bill” at this point I actually thought he was going to do it?
Mr Caldwell then went on to explain that it’s a company policy to “never” reduce there prices “ever” he stated that it would not even matter if the final bill had been £15 they would not discount the job, I was quite taken aback by the confidence/glee in his voice when he said this,
We continued to talk and said theY must have so much business that they don’t need mine yet your reps keep phoning me, now I have the Manager on the phone, I couldn’t understand why I was being harassed all the time.
At this point I gave up, and told him ok £190 but I wanted it in writing to state that the water tank would be in the same place as the original one.
Mr Caldwell then became excited, he said “ right Gavin let’s get this done” sales man’s talk 🤮, he then went on to say for me to give him a couple of days and he would send me confirmation,
Yesterday I received an email, stating that I now need to pay £1581.31 to move the water tank, this company is an absolute “JOKE”
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

I had a varied experience with Smart Energy Homes. As I understand they use different contractors to provide different services. I have nothing but praise for the plumbing team and heating engineers, they did an outstanding job on every level.
I have had major issues with the insulation team and after several revisits still failed a satisfactory job. As a consequence they butchered my living room carpet, which has been cut too short to reach the walls and marked beyond repair.
It has taken 12 months for Smart Energy to address the problem and have offered to stick brand new skirting board to my 200 year old listed building to hide the issue. I have requested and got quotes for a new carpet but sadly the offer of skirting is the best they will do.
Sadly I do not have £1500 to replace my carpet so have no alternative other than live with it or pursue legally.
Please be mindful that if you live in an old or heritage building, this company will not be empathetic and will simply treat it as a new build.
To sum up Smart Energy, poor customer service, dishonest and a money making machine.

Highly disappointed!

I had a solar system installed by Smart Energy Homes Ltd in 2023 - the system has been great and performed well. I had misplaced the supporting paperwork required to register for SEG; I contacted the company to ask copies of the documents and I was thoroughly impressed by the professionalism and efficiency of the staff member who dealt with my enquiry. I was kept very well informed via email and the documents were sourced the following day. Excellent work and a pleasure to deal with.

I recently had solar and battery work completed by Smart Energy Homes and wanted to recognise some of the excellent people involved.
Matt and Max, the electricians, were absolutely brilliant. They were polite, professional, and clearly very knowledgeable. They ended up returning on three separate occasions to make sure everything was completed properly and never once seemed inconvenienced. Their attention to detail and commitment to getting the job right was outstanding, and they are a real credit to the company.
I'd also like to thank Liam and Paige in customer services. Communication throughout the process was excellent, they were always available to answer questions, and they kept me informed at every stage. Their support made the whole experience much smoother.
The only disappointing aspect of the installation was the scaffolding contractor. Unfortunately, the level of professionalism and customer service from them fell well below the standards demonstrated by the Smart Energy Homes team. Thankfully, the excellent work of Matt, Max, Liam, and Paige more than made up for this.
Overall, I'm very happy with the finished installation and would recommend Smart Energy Homes based on the quality of their electrical team and customer service staff.

Having recently used this company to lag our loft, here’s my honest opinion based upon our experience.

I’ll start with the negative points.

1) The lagging job was accomplished on the third attempt. Smart Energy Homes made two previous appointments and simply did not turn up. No call. No message. No show. Not a good first impression.

2) They are not cheap. Over £1300 to lag a relatively small loft.

The reviews are what made us gravitate in their direction though, not bargain basement prices.

Having put the negatives to bed, I can say that when they eventually turned up, these guys did a superb job. Very professional, very efficient and proficient. They even identified a couple of electrical problems for us. They kept the mess to a minimum, covered the floor area between the front door and the loft hatch, and vacuumed up afterwards. They kept us informed throughout the process, often inviting me up to have look at the progress.

You could, undoubtedly, find a cheaper outfit to lag your loft. One that will actually turn up for appointments or explain why they haven’t. But if you want to pay a bit more for a professional job that you can be confident will be done to a high standard, these are your guys.

From my first interaction with the business things were well explained and options well thought through.
We live in an unconventional property built in 1906 which has had several extensions making the job to move the hot water cylinder from the 2nd to ground floor , install new pipework and radiators and a new heat pump far from easy.
Throughout, the two lead plumbers, the install team , the energy advisor and technical support have been courteous, reliable and tidy, explaining every detail to us as they went along and programming the work so we could use the house has been first class.
The price was realistic and represented good value for money for all the work done.

AVOID THIS COMPANY,
They left My job half finished.
And with a lot of dodgy work that needs to be rectified

Heat pump has been intalled in a really bad place, totaly blocking acess around the house,
Heating system was leaking. Took them 6 months to turn up and fix.
Electric system hasn't been put back as it was, and now has a short somewhere, they say it's up to me to fix.

I' have had to start a complaint process with trust Mark,
I now have to get my own contractors in to finish the job and put things right

We need a new boiler fitted as old back boiler needed to upgrade. Got few quotes. David Reynolds came from Smart Energy Homes. Give us decent quote with can do attitude. Stayed in touch though out the process. Give us such a great service! Also team over the telephone. Would definitely use them again. Thank You.

Smart Energy installed an air source heat pump, solar panels, loft insulation and ventilation works. The whole works were completed very efficiently and professionally and the office was easy to get hold of if we needed to.
The installers were polite and professional throughout and cleaned up after themselves.
Everything went very smoothly and the system is working well. We've had some good sunny days to test the solar panels which have been brilliant.
Overall a great experience.

Shane and Micheal installed the iwi system in our home. They were polite and professional and clean in there work. I feel with the worked carried out. We shall feel the benefit next winter. Thank you
