I reached out to Spectrum Life via WhatsApp today. The website I accessed it from promised support through WhatsApp which I thought was difficult as I cannot cope with phone calls due to a disability, yet when I reached out for text support, I asked for how I wanted support and they immediately pushed me to book a 30-minute call with a counsellor. I've chosen to reach out via this method because it's more accessible for me. They then claimed "it's not an ideal way to support you" even after I requested it as an alternative method due to a reasonable adjustment under the Equality Act. Very sad response from Spectrum Life.

My university has out sourced its counselling to Spectrum Life. Had a so called "initial intake appointment" today that lasted all of 15 minutes. I was told that I could only talk to the counselor about one issue for 5 sessions and I was pushed to specify that. The call handler was clearly looking for something that matched their drop down list of issues. I've had counselling in the past and there's no way this equates to the thorough, knowledgeable triage appointments that they included. I discovered at that end of the call that he had put down that i wanted strategies for coping with study pressures. That was NOT what i had specified. I asked to change that and he said he couldn't because "it's already gone through"!! Useless! Money is clearly the priority for this company.

Disappointed by the overall therapy experience Vs Spill.

No repeat sessions or a course of therapy. Very regimented q and a style and no time to explore into deeper topics.

Don't think it's good for the counsellors or the patients
