sad for my lost but graceful to have support

I’ve never had insurance for a pet before but every interaction with spot has been easy and friendly! I highly recommend this company and getting insurance. Once you need it it’s hard to understand why I’ve never gotten it before.

Easy to use claim submission and very helpful customer service.

I have had the worst experience with Spot Pet Insurance. I entered information for my cats into their online portal. When I logged in later to submit a claim, I noticed that not only was my information NOT there, but the names of two of my (recently) DECEASED cats were in the system! (both of whom were NEVER covered by pet insurance). When I reported this to them, they had very little interest or compassion. It took 5 calls and 2 months to have their tech department remove this perturbing information and have the correct information inputted. They told me I would have to wait to file a claim but assured me I had 180 days to do so. When the unexplained "glitch" was finally corrected in the system, and I submitted a claim, they rejected it outright. So in essence, they stalled on removing information in their system for 2.5 months, had me pay unnecessary insurance fees while they took their time, only to then reject the claim. Multiple calls, multiple emails, horrible robotic service. A waste of time, and money.

Well when I admitted the claim you paid it off and closed the file except it wasn’t over I had to go back to the vet and have another visit due to more complications for the same problem. Simple as that.

please do your research on what this company will and will not cover. there are better options out there. I wish I could go back in time and choose a different insurance company.

Very helpful and understandig

Very responsive to our claims and quite adequate reimbursement. The premiums keep going up each year without notification. Had 1 glitch where the form auto fills the date of onset which is incorrect and resulted in a refusal of my claim. This was appealed and I was reimbursed but the autofill issue remains. Overall good coverage.

Spot pet insurance can do better in terms of working closer with service providers (vet clinic, pet hospitals, etc.) to let them submit the claim documents related to diagnoses and treatment of the pets on behalf of the pet owners. So the providers get paid directly from the Spot insurance company, like others do.

Great price, reasonable coverage, and straightforward claims process. Though that process can be rather opaque.

Though I think the company should change from a reimbursement model to direct billing. This would be added benefit to your clients.
