Maybe they will have direct billing in the future, but it was easy to upload/email the invoices and veterinary notes. Reimbursement was sent within a week.
The only thing I disliked was having to call poison control, which charges in USD. Since they don't do conversions, they only paid what it was in Canadian dollars.

Prompt and professional

I have zero complaints about Spot. In fact, I swear by them and strongly recommend. They process the claims really efficiently; one time, I submitted a quote for pre-approval on a Wednesday night and on Thursday morning I had the pre-approval letter. It’s very easy to get someone on the phone too and they’re all helpful and friendly.

I have an overall good experience submitting claims, however, while shopping for new pet insurance, the prices were quoted to me the same as when I originally signed up with spot. Now my insurance has nearly doubled and my insurance payment is nearly $500. It’s ridiculous.

In my experience in dealing with this company, they search for any possible loop holes that could present an opportunity to deny benefits. Even when presented eloquently with data and several documents from specialists in the field as well as confirmation from my family vet, they still denied claims much to everyone's surprise. Everything at this point would be pre-existing and thus pointless to switch, otherwise i would have a long time ago. In the future I will be more careful about who i choose to do business with.

So far our experience has been good. If you are from Ontario with a Quebec area code, you will be transferred to an Ontario rep. Unfortunately, they will not be able to help you and you will have to wait again on hold for help once they transfer you.

I only ever had one issue with a claim that was easily resolved and I didn't have to call in, I'm able to message them straight from my client portal. Super helpful and less time consuming!
