From the start, Paul Edwards was particularly pleasant and easy to deal with.
He was friendly and approachable yet professional in his manner.
Whilst we came across a few hiccoughs during the process of obtaining Equity release( none of which were anything to do with Paul,the main reason being the type of insulation we had in our loft!) he continued to give us sound advice and we were able to successfully complete, albeit that it took a bit longer than originally planned.

Since 2017 Richard W at St Barts has organised our original mortgage and taken us through 2 mortgage renewals on both our main property and Buy-to-Let investment.

Whenever I've tested the water to check other rates available, Richard's offering has always been among the most competitive. Richard is support by Darren who ensures nothing is held up and things move along efficiently.

We contacted Richard at St Barts Finance because our previous mortgage company unfortunately ceased trading, and they passed our details across as part of the same group network. Our fixed rate was ending this month, and having just started my own business added some complexity to the remortgage application.

Richard handled the entire process for us from start to finish. He dealt with all the paperwork, liaised directly with lenders, and kept us fully updated throughout. Even though we ended up staying with the same lender (due to my recent self-employment status making other options trickier), he made sure we secured the best possible terms available under the circumstances, and the switch was completely straightforward with no delays.

I wouldn’t describe what Rachel provided as “customer service” — it was luxury, tailored support without the hefty price tag. It went far beyond what you typically receive elsewhere. We briefly worked with another broker who seemed to overcomplicate things in the name of being “extra careful,” and the contrast was night and day. Rachel was quick, precise, and knew exactly what was needed. It gave us immediate confidence that she understood the process inside out and had done her research — and it paid off. I put my trust in her, and she truly delivered.

It’s also worth noting that during our house-buying journey, we were worried that once the mortgage application was approved, communication would drop off. That couldn’t have been further from the truth. At every stage, Rachel checked in with us and consistently offered help whenever we needed it.
