Ich schließe mich den anderen an: Bis Cubase 5 war diese DAW noch brauchbar, dann wurde es immer schlimmer!
Seit Cubase 12 bekomme ich bei diesem Programm eine regelrechte Hasskappe!
Man installiert nicht mehr Cubase selber, sondern man braucht jetzt:
- das eLicenser Control Center
- den Steinberg Download Assistant
- den Steinberg Activation Manager
- den Steinberg built-in-ASIO-Driver
- den Steinberg Library Manager
- die Steinberg Media Bay

Einige dieser Programm installieren sich stillschweigend im Hintergrund, andere muss man manuell laden.
Als ich beim ersten mal erhebliche Probleme hatte, Cubase 12 auf unseren 5 PCs auf der Arbeit zu installieren, bin ich böse mit dem Support aneinander geraten.
Es war nicht vorgesehen, dass eine Person mehrere Lizenzen besitzt, an Schulen, Unis, Tonstudios, etc. hat scheinbar keiner gedacht..... Die Lizenzen sind nirgends eindeutig benannt, es ist ein einziger Krampf, via Try and Error auf gut Glück eine der freien Lizenzen für die Aktivierung auf der Festplatte zu erwischen. Der e-Licenser Dongle ist damit hinfällig.
Zwischendurch heisst es "Höchstzahl an Aktivierungen erreicht!", nachdem ich vier von 10 Lizenzen aktiviert habe.....
Der "Tipp" von Steinberg dazu lautete: "Sie können ja ein Downgrade auf Cubase 11 machen, wenn Cubase 12 nicht läuft!"................. WOW...!!!

Cubase legt übrigens auf JEDEM Laufwerk mehrere Steinberg-Ordner an, die teils leer sind und leer bleiben. Es ist Chaos pur!

Liegt nun ein Update für den Download Assistant vor, ohne dass man davon weiss, sperrt das Programm einfach seine Funktion mit der Behauptung, es würde keine Internetverbindung bestehen. Was diese Meldung tatsächlich bedeutet, erfährt man dann über Foren, wenn man danach sucht. Dieses Update wird aber nicht in der Anwendung angeschoben, man darf manuell neu installieren und wird natürlich direkt wieder abgemeldet. Der Login muss dann über den Browser gemacht werden........ WOW...!

Ich weiss wirklich nicht, wer sich dieses hirnverbrannten Schwachsinn überlegt hat. Als ob so viele Leute Cubase mit Crack benutzen möchten... Da gibt es wirklich etliche wesentlich bessere DAWs!
Cubase ist einfach nur unglaublich umständlich, von der Installation bis zum Bounce!
Und der Support ist nicht wirklich hilfreich, sondern nach meiner Erfahrung hochnäsig, arrogant, lustlos und verpeilt. Zugesagte Rückrufe erfolgen nicht, bzw. nur sehr selten.
Sehr schade! Das geht definitiv erheblich besser!

Aufgerund dieser Erfahrungen mit Cubase habe ich keinerlei Ambitionen, mich mit weiterer Software aus dem Hause Steinberg herum zu ärgern.
Privat nutze ich Cubase schon seit 2012 nicht mehr und setze mich inzwischen dafür ein, dass Steinberg Produkte auch auf der Arbeit abgeschafft werden.

Il pc che usavo è distrutto, ho cercato di installare Cubase sul nuovo.
La logica di attivazione dei loro prodotti è assurda, bisogna visitare non si sa quante pagine.
Il link contenuto nel CD risulta inesistente.
Le richieste di supporto (ticket) non vengono evase.
Ho speso molti soldi nei loro prodotti, sono proprietario di almeno 4 versioni dei loro software, non posso utilizzarne alcuno.
Questa azienda non è degna di ricevere i soldi dei consumatori, non acquisterò mai più un prodotto Steinberg.

Your products are good but your support is nowhere to be found and I always dread getting a new computer because then I need to be dragged through the nightmare of installing the Cubase I had for years, as there is always some unforseen issues - old code can't be used, eLincenser full of issues. I am done with Cubase even though the program is great, just because of the nightmare of trying to install it again on a new pc.

Der Steinberg Support ist wirklich klasse. Schnell, kompetent und was das wichtigste ist: Lösungsorientiert. Könnte man 6 Sterne vergeben ich würde es tun.

Die Software Cubase13 ist so schlecht zu bedienen, dass ich heut noch immer mit Cubase 8 arbeiten muss. Die Schaltflächen sind unübersichtlich. Das Design ist zum K*****. Für mich eine Rückentwicklung. Ich brauche nicht mehr Inovationen, ich brauche Übersichtlichkeit und mehr Handlichkeit

J'ai voulu mettre à niveau Dorico SE 5 et passer à Dorico elements 5 donc j'ai payé la mise à niveau. Elle a été soit disant téléchargée mais je ne la retrouve nulle part. Impossible de voir les produits sur mon compte (j'ai aussi cubase éléments 12).
Les numéros de téléphone ainsi que les mails sont inaccessible donc impossible d'avoir qui que ce soit.
Pour acheter pas de soucis vous êtes inondés de propositions par contre pour l'aide et le SAV là, c'est le néant.

It's an extremly frustrating process to install and licence wave lab in an educational facility. You have to use download manager, then download activation manager. then e-licencer, then media bay, then finally, library manager. Then activate, then run code in terminal and hope for the best. The user experience here is poor, hard to find the correct instructions and getting support also difficult. If we didn't teach Wavelab I would avoid at all costs. Im writing this in the hope the feedback helps Steinberg improve

Good software but very difficult.
It s not easy to use and there is always somthing failing.

Assurdo come si siano comportati, un marchio che è sempre stato ad un altissimo livello, cadere così in basso è davvero osceno... ho sempre acquistato cubase, mai scaricato gratis come tanti, addirittura mi prendevano in giro per questo, ma io sempre voluto essere corretto nei vostri confronti, ed ho sempre pagato gli aggiornamenti... 600 euro il software, 300 euro ogni aggiornamento, ma l'ho sempre fatto con piacere, un paio di anni fa ho fatto l'aggiornamento a cubase 10 pro perché per le mie esigenze era sufficiente, ma a distanza di soli 2 anni quando vado ad aprire il software, noto che funzionava male, tutti i plugin installati non venivano letti, trovava solo gli originali steinberg, e altre cose funzionavano in maniera anomala... dopo vari tentativi scrissi all'assistenza, prima mi diedero alcuni consigli che peggiorarono ulteriormente la situazione, ad esempio prima mi leggeva la pennina di licenza steinberg mentre dopo i consigli dell'assistenza non leggeva più neanche quella... scrivo nuovamente e mi chiedono quale versione stessi utilizzando, al che mi rispondono che non era più supportata, arrivederci e grazie! Mollato così, senza alcun interesse, nemmeno a risolvere il problema da loro creato, ho scritto nuovamente per dire che avrebbero dovuto aiutarmi a risolvere il problema della licenza creato da loro stessi, ed inoltre per dire che avendo pagato interamente il software e avendo pagato tutti gli aggiornamenti, avrei comunque dovuto aver diritto al suo utilizzo completo (come confermato dall'associazione dei consumatori), magari senza più assistenza e senza dubbio senza le funzioni delle versioni successive, ma avrei comunque dovuto utilizzarlo... non hanno più risposto, spariti, scappati come conigli... deluso da loro, e deluso dal tentativo di usare altri software che non sono assolutamente all'altezza di cubase, decido di contattare l'associazione dei consumatori e spiegare il mio problema, mi hanno confermato che avendo pagato interamente un software e i suoi aggiornamenti, avrei dovuto avere completo accesso almeno a quella versione, ma poi ho deciso di non andare avanti in un eventuale ricorso, mi ero già preso troppa rabbia anche per tutti i progetti persi per colpa loro... a malincuore ho cambiato software, sono passato ad ableton per quanto lo trovi complicato, poco intuitivo, e decisamente riduttivo in quanto ad opzioni e funzionalità, ma ho dovuto accontentarmi, e purtroppo sto perdendo la voglia di fare musica perché trovo impossibile lavorare decentemente con altri software, solo logic e pro tools ne sarebbero all'altezza ma io volevo cubase... grazie steinberg per avermi preso in giro nonostante vi abbia dato i miei soldi, e grazie per aver distrutto una passione che avevo fin da bambino!

Steinberg produces high-quality music software, and their Cubase which I have been using for years, is among the best DAWs available.
However, their customer service is terrible, and most of the time you are left with no help whatsoever, which is a frustrating experience.

Ich habe im Rahmen eines Interface von Steinberg eine License für Software enthalten. Dazu möchte ich sagen ich bin kein PC Freak eher Musiker , weiß aber im Prinzip schon ganz gut wie man eine Software aufzieht und auf freischaltet, bisher . Bei Steinberg nicht . Ich habe selten ein solch komplizierten Mist gesehen wie hier . Sorry aber müsste ich die Software bezahlen zusätzlich würde ich definitiv woanders kaufen . Und bisher rede ich noch nur vom freischalten , ich freu mich schon auf den Gebrauch wenn der genauso Mist und kompliziert ist dann Bye Steinberg . Macht Software für Anwender und nicht für PC Freaks .Tut mir leid ,aber das liegt bei Note 6

Was für ein grauenhafter Support. Ich warte jetzt bald zwei Wochen auf eine Reaktion und kann mit Cubase nicht mehr produzieren, weil der Support mein Ticket nicht bearbeitet. Und ich muss völlig hilflos zusehen, da die Software mich direkt an den Support leitet mit dem Problem. Was ist nur aus dieser Firma geworden.

I've used Cubase and wave Lab for years ,on Mac and PC . In fact my Cubase use goes back to the Atari days.
IMHO: Earlier versions of Cubase Studio on PC seemed quite stable if the PC was built with the recommended parts. Windows was always a PITA. You had excellent fast and helpful phone support in Canada in the 2000s with only a few A holes with attitude on the support line. I have found that the latest few upgrades ,from 11 through 14 pro had way to many bugs in them for release , at least on the mac version . Phone support in Canada disappeared. You removed many features that once made it easy to use the software as a stable audio tracking recording platform . Visually you have removed the, easy on the eyes 3D button look and transport . Many new features for EDM and sampling were added but at the expense of tracking off the floor audio with stability. If something works well I don't understand why one would remove it and add another feature. I am in full support of growth and improvements ,but why throw the baby out with the bathwater. If the coders want Cubase to be everything to everyone, it will become, and think it already has become, poor to moderate and unreliable at everything. Perhaps a solution would be to offer various skin and function choices in set up, for those with different utilization needs. Keep it less cluttered. Work on fixing all the bugs of a the current release before releasing a new buggy version . Many people rely on Cubase to put food on their tables. A crash or bug can cost them a day or more in revenue . Remove the well known paid agitators from the steinberg forums and police them to make sure there is respect and function. They are not good for your bottom line as they are like the wild wild west , and are not fooling anyone. They intimidate new users and offer no valuable advice. Great way to keep new customers.
Your reputation and brands reputation is falling quickly to the level of Avid's. You don't have the remaining large studios by the short hairs ,with millions invested in their hardware., like they do ,so I would be very careful. There are many new Daws appearing all the time .Many do EDM far better then you do . Many do film far better and many are catching up to your midi capabilities. all but Avid have better customer service. I would be worried, you could end up going the way of Cake Walk ,being sold to whom ever will buy the majority of your shares. You can still fix it . Start giving a damn. You truly are treading water these days

I am a Wavelab user for many years. After replacing my Graphic card my Wavelab license is becoming corrupt. I contacted Steinberg support by email with all the trouble details.
Now after one week still no any response of them other then a ticket number. Meanwhile I received a lot of advertisement emails about their product promotions but no any solution nor reaction about my problem. So be aware Support Steinberg sucks. !!!!

worst music software ever, is incredible how the interface is not intuitive at all, i can expect this interface from a 1997 software, is all so crappy and extremely hard to use, if was possible to put -5 stars i would put, bad reviews are all you deserve Steinberg

Was ist nur aus Steinberg geworden?! Es ist absolut beschämend, wie die einst so professionelle und tolle Firma Steinberg, in den Abgrund gerutscht ist. Seit über 20-Jahren habe ich die Musiksoftware genutzt und war begeistert. Aber die letzten Jahre ging es permanent abwärts. Aus heiterem Himmel funktionierte Wavelab Pro nicht mehr. Cubase funktioniert je nach Wetterlage. Downloads wurden abgebrochen, Aktivierungen ohne Fehler?! Fehlanzeige. Egal ob mit dem Mac-System oder einem Windows PC. Steinberg übertrifft momentan selbst Microsoft in Sachen Fehler. (Ich komme aus der IT und weiß, wie ein PC zu funktionieren hat)
Steinberg sollte den Mund nicht so voll nehmen, und Worte wie "weltweit führend" einfach weg lassen. Besser wäre es, die wesentlichen Dinge in den Griff zu bekommen. Dann würde ich gern wieder Produkte von Steinberg kaufen und nutzen. Aber Stand heute 12.2024 habe ich alles gelöscht, da ich gar nicht weiß, ob es überhaupt noch möglich ist, ein Projekt ohne Fehler beenden zu können. Zum Glück gibt es Pro Tools, wo die Plug-Ins wie Native Instruments, Izotope & Co. super funktionieren.

I have been waiting for a 14 days for Steinberg Media to provide support with activating a trial copy of Cubase 14 Pro DAW.
Their customer support must be the worst in the software music production business.
I have been here once before. The last time I named and shamed them on (then) Twitter and they replied within minutes! Is this the only way to get Steinberg's attention?
They produce great music software - Cubase, Dorico, Wavelab and Nuendo and are a leader in their field, but they have a reputation for atrocious customer support. Do they have no shame?
If you are looking to buy a DAW or switch from another provider, seriously consider looking elsewhere.

if I could give zero I would. Upgraded to 13 pro. started using it then suddenly saying no license found to upgrade. goto licenser and only 11 is on there and its got a block sign over it. when both 12 and 13 are listed on mysteinburg account. call customer service it says they're closed and it's durning business hours. chat never picks up. thank goodness I bought upgrade through Sweetwater and will. be getting full refund. I'M DONE WITH INCOMPETENT STEINBERG. Leave them now. Don't give them any more money cuz in January they're discontinuing licenses and customer that have given them all their money over the years will be force to by the entire product from scratch.

Just bought Cubase pro 14 upgrade and I was up and running in 5 minutters. Great customer experience and som great new features in the product as well. Absolutely worth the price of the upgrade
