Worst Customer Service and terrible features

They charged me for an email for a year and I asked for it not to be auto renewed. They asked me to delete the email and won't refund me. So I went ahead and did that.
Then I decided that I actually paid for a whole year I might as well use their emails, guess what, thier happiness office is asking me to pay again for a new annual subcription!
Their web design features are absolutely terrible - very unhappy to say the least

Look somewhere else

For anyone wanting to use Strikingly as a website- I STRONGLY encourage you to use another provider. You can not cancel a renewal. Your only options are to completely forfeit your PAID FOR services. Or cancel a day before and run the risk of forgetting to cancel it. As an added bonus - there is a no refund policy.

I’ve been trying to get this fixed since 10 this morning and STILL HAVE GOTTEN NOWHERE. I asked them to take off my credit card information and they told me they’d be glad to do so- but I will loose my website. How is this not fraudulent?! I’m so incredibly mad right now.

Awful customer service

Awful customer service. I paid for a year but set it back to free so it didn't auto-renew after a year. They cancelled the whole plan! There are 11 months left on the plan and they won't refund the money and won't give me the pro features either!!!

DO NOT USE THEM.

Did not allow to use remainder of subscription after cancellation

I have been using Strikingly for several years. Recently I decided to cancel the account.

After cancelling the service was terminated immediately even though I still had 24 days left in the 1 month subscription, for which I have paid.

During the cancellation process on the website it was not clearly mentioned that the service will be stopped not at the end of the subscription period but immediately after the cancellation. That means that if you want to cancel Strikingly and still use the 1 month subscription, for which you have paid, you have to remember to cancel your subscription on the very last day. If you forget to do so, your subscription will be automatically renewed for 1 more month. I am sure this is convenient for Strikingly but definitely not convenient for their customers. When using other subscription services (Amazon, Spotify, etc) usually after cancellation you can still use the service until the end of the subscription period.

I complained to customer service but they did not want to extend my subscription for the remaining 24 days for which I have paid and told me that I have to pay for a new subscription if I want to use the service.

There are other similar solutions on the market with better features than Strikingly for the same price and without the tricky customer policies which are unfavourable for the customer.

Strikingly is not competitive compared to alternatives.

UPDATE:
After sending customer service my reviews for Strikingly they finally granted me with free 1 month subscription to compensate for the 24 days that I was not able to use. Still I spend quite a lot of time messaging with customer services and they did not want to grant my request or considered it fair before sending them the reviews. For that I updated the review from 1 start to 2 stars.

Not a positive experience

Not a positive experience. I cancelled my membership more than three years ago, and also I did not wanted to renew the domains. Yet, the renewal of the domain was made without my consent. To find the automatic renewal button was a journey inside this platform. It was not possible without help from Costumer service. Money was taking out my paypal account year after year. When I reported it, they said they could not refund only give "credits" and that they have a "no-refund-policy". The costumer service was also quite inefficient helping solve this issue.

I had unpleasant experience during recruitment with this company. Applicant must go through self-guided training (no class, no speakers), it wasn't informed in advance, and they must pass day 1 assessment without a chance to be trained well regarding the service or else, terminated without any appeal chance!!! Applicant are pushed to understand the company's service on their own!!! BEWARE!!!

Worst company ever!!!

Worst company ever!!!
Don’t try to get a job or to create a website with them !
After I passed my interview I started my training Manila time hour and they didn’t provide me any info or help !
After one day of intense work they said to me I didn’t passed my first day (that because their website kept blocking and I was not able to work properly and try to finish my work ).
When I got my score I asked for an explanation and guess what????
Blocked !!!!
Maybe your hiring just Filipino or Indian people as in that group was not other people .
I think here is RACISM and as wel without telling me what I have done wrong is only your fault blocking….
Awful and worst company ever!
Usually when you pass your interview for a job on your training you learn things …I just been let alone and I’ve done everything possible and they just made joke of everything!

The company shut down my website…

The company shut down my website claiming I charged back a payment, when I simply lost my credit card and had to get a new one. I sent them their own receipt for payment, but they refused to accept that, so I asked what do I need to do to get my site back up and nothing. I've had other problems, the agents don't know their own software, go someplace else, bad situation.

We have been using strikingly for a…

We have been using strikingly for a long time. It is fairly easy to use. PROBLEM, A BIG PROBLEM, when they have issues (such as uploading images for a photographic client) it doesn't work right. This has happened over and over and over again. One time this happened a Happiness office (what they call their support team) helped us and was able to fix the problem and it was awesome!! Considering this has happened multiple times we were very happy they found a solution.

This happened again 2 days ago- all of the images we tried to upload did not go through. No way to track them. No way to find which images from our collection where not upload and which ones were. The solution before, A great Support person was able to remove our image from that section, we sent her all of the images as she instructed us, and then she was able to reload 100% of the images for us!!!!

We have so far spoken to 4 different reps and all they do is forward us to their Development Team who tells us the problem but does not offer a solution to help. WE ARE SO UNHAPPY WITH THEIR SUPPORT. They can fix little issues but when it comes to bigger, more time consuming issues THEY SUCK!! CONSIDERING WE HAVE A VERY PISSED OFF CLIENT RIGHT NOW AND HAVE LOST AT LEAST 30 - 40 HOURS OF TIME...

We DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL. FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THEY REALLY DON'T CARE.
They have SCREWED US FOR THE LAST TIME!!!

Avoid: Over priced service with overzealous billing

Strikingly worked as a basic site builder but I cannot compare it with other similar services. However, it is very limited, even if you pay.
Once my company moved to a bigger more professional service and we cancelled they kept our account live, billed us again this year. After we complained they at first told us they hadn't received our cancellation. We cancelled again within the 14 day trial period offered by Strikingly. They then said they couldn't refund the money, only give us a credit for other services. We pushed back and they said they would "speak to a billing officer" who "generously" offered to give us part our money back as "as a one-time courtesy". They deliberately lowered the amount they say they billed us from $96 to $84 and took a $1 billing fee. Again we've pushed back and the issue has yet to be resolved as of this writing.
Verdict: There are better services, certainly if you pay and avoid this one.

They'll bill you even after you cancel your service.

Not only is their service extremely limited, their billing practices are criminal. After talking with a rep online last year to cancel the account, my card on file was charged $200 for a renewal fee. I don't even have a site built with Strikenly because of its poor tools -- which are, apparently, just as poor as their morality. STEER CLEAR.

Landing Page work lost

I wanted to build a landing page using Strikingly. I started working with it (with the free version and plan to switch to the pro version once I plan to publish the page), the interface is quite easy to use and I was happy with the results I obtained.
My issue happened today when I opened the editor to continue my work to see that the version of landing page I get is an older one (few days back) and all my last days work has vanished (knowing that this work has been auto-saved and checked out just yesterday). When I contacted the customer service, they said that they can't do much and that the page had to be published to be recovered. It seemed like they don't care about the causes of the issue (which is definetly a huge one !). I lost tens of hours of work and it could have been worst.
I'm switching to another platform and if you are serious about your work, I would definitely not recommand using Strikingly.

Do NOT start a paid subscription

As a long term (now former) customer who was fine with Strikingly when they started, it saddens me to now leave a negative review.

Do NOT start a subscription with Strikingly. Once you do they will not relinquish your payment details. They have a no refund policy that is established in bad faith, as you can see from other reviews below. Their customer support staff are fine - they're only doing what their bosses have imposed, but they're working off underlying business practices that are not customer-centric, and they will fight tooth and nail to keep your money.

There are also far better website builders out there now. Strikingly is not particularly well integrated with contemporary platforms such as Zapier, so it's just not worth the pain.

Extremement déçus

Cela fait 3 ans que nous avons un site Strikingly et nous sommes très mécontents de leur façon malhonnête de procéder (qui pourrait s'apparenter à une arnaque). Chaque année au moment du paiement, ils n'arrivent etrangement pas à prelever la somme due (alors que tout est enregistré). Ils désactivent le site et demandent 80$ pour le restituer. Pour éviter que cela ne se reproduise en novembre 2020, nous les avons contacté avant le prelevement, nous avons une reponse favorable ("pas d'inquietude") et rebelotte, le site a disparu et ils exigent de nouveau 80$ pour remettre le site en route. Qui a subit cette arnaque également?

Avoid

I wanted to change to a free plan but option not clickable. FAQ says it is only possible if no pro features are used. Not clear what they are so deleted one site then the other. Free plan still not an option. FAQ then says it is only possible for the company to change a pro plan. So wrote to support to just get the account deleted as there is not point having a free plan with not sites and after mocking about for way too long because it was deliberately designed to make me do so.
Sites were beautiful. Payment options were not suitable for business as they do not keep basic invoice legalities. Customer support is this modern "fill the major gaps with good feelings" approach that always turn out to be useless.
