Katchun Uppal from the North service Rd branch in Oakville is so professional and does a great job.

DO NOT USE HR BLOCK!!! I CALLED AND ASKED ABOUT THEIR RATES, I WAS TOLD DEPENDING ON HOW COMPLEX YOUR RETURN IS, IT COULD BE $89-125 DOLLARS. I WAS NOT TOLD UNTIL MY RETURN WAS FINALIZED, THAT I FELL INTO THE PREMIUM RATE…$401.00! ALL MY TAX FORMS WERE ALREADY AUTOFILLED…THE REPRESENTATIVE DID NOTHING! BIGGEST RIP OFF EVER.

I wish i could rate H & R less than 1 star.
So disappointed with these so called "tax professionals".

My taxes were so easy, one T4 and then the sale of my principle residence, shared with my EX. THATS IT.
Not only was i told that after dropping off my taxes that they didn't have a QUALIFIED tax person to take care of those at that specific branch (sorry, WHAT?!?!?), they filed that i claimed all proceeds on the sale of my house with my ex. THEN when i brought it to their attention to be amended, i was told that i have to wait a WEEK before someone would be able to do it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I paid them over $200 for my taxes to be done then they mess them up and wont make it a priority to fix. SO DISAPPOINTED!! This is just unacceptable. AWFUL SERVICE.
I will never go back to H & R Block and i will make sure to spread the word how under qualified they are.

Side note, the young woman at reception was lovely. Not her fault at all, she was a pleasure to deal with. Too bad i cant say that about the actual experience with the so called "accountants" they hire.

I have been getting my taxes done with H&R block for over 12 years and was very happy. now they are giving out credit cards for cash back .The last i got this it costs me money to take out my own cash from the bank . i still have a dollor or to on that card i cant use beouse noting costs that little these days. so untill they bring back checks i will not use them again.

My husband and I booked this location because it is the halfway point between Kingston and Trenton for us. On Tuesday, just as I was about to leave Kingston for our appointment, I received a call saying the CRA system was down and our appointment had to be rescheduled to Friday. Frustrating, but we agreed and rearranged our schedules.
When we arrived Friday, we were then told they couldn’t download a form needed for my taxes. After waiting almost 24 hours with absolutely no update or follow-up, I finally managed to get ahold of Heather, who told me my taxes would be ready by 4:30 PM Saturday.
After waiting most of the day Saturday, we left Trenton and drove toward Napanee in very thick fog expecting to finally pick up my completed taxes. When we arrived, the office was CLOSED.
Apparently the store decided to close early and start new hours that same day, yet no one bothered to call us—even though they knew we were coming to pick up my taxes. Instead, we arrived to find Lisa there, who explained she had been called in on her day off just to close the store because Heather didn’t know how to close it.
To make matters worse, my taxes were still not completed, despite being told they would be ready. After multiple wasted trips, hours of waiting, and almost no communication, I finally grabbed my paperwork and left.
Between the rescheduling, lack of communication, wasted travel, and complete disregard for our time, this was one of the most unprofessional customer service experiences I have ever had.
This kind of service is completely unacceptable. I will never use this H&R Block location again, and I strongly suggest others look elsewhere

Quick and painless. Had my return done yesterday, Afsheen Amir was awesome. She was so knowledgeable.

It was great because I didn't understand anything and she explained in detail and got me paid same day! Her expertise were very amazing!

I’ve been a loyal customer of H&R Block for more than 10 years, but the customer service has declined dramatically in recent years. The team was unhelpful and unwilling to resolve even basic issues on my most recent visit. I came in with additional documents needed for my return only to have the staff unable to locate my file and asked if I was at the wrong location.

I escalated this matter by calling corporate customer support, but they offered no meaningful assistance or solutions either.

After such long-term loyalty, this experience has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. I will not be returning to H&R Block and I strongly recommend that others reconsider using H&R Block for their tax preparation. Needs look for providers that still prioritize, accurate service and genuine customer care. 

H & R Block now gives you a card instead of a check. Supposedly, I can withdraw all the funds. I wish I knew this prior to coming in…they told me this when everything was completed. Also not sure if there’s a service fee for each time I use the card. There also seems to be an increase in the services. Not happy with them this year.

Ceylon K. was knowledgeable, professional and efficient with filing my tax return and explain things in a wY i could understand.

Joyce, our US accountant was Amazing and went above and beyond! The 2 ladies at the front were also very helpful and pleasant. This was the office at 1754 Lonsdale, North Vancouver, BC.

Ashley is amazing. She filed my income tax for me. She was very thorough, accommodating and was able to answer all of my questions. If you can request a certain tax advisor at the Spryfield location, ask for Ashley

The most unhinged customer experience ever.

I booked an appointment for today. Upon arrival, I kid you not, this was the entire interaction, verbatim:

_Did you bring all your documents?
_Uhm, I think so? Could you help me double check it?
_Here (gives me a business card), email everything to us. If you have anything paper, put it here (gives me an envelope and a form).

And he walked away.

WHY would I pay $169 CAD for an in-person appointment, only to be told to email my documents and be done with it?

This makes absolutely no sense.

The software has a end pop up you CANNOT get past without accepting the unnecessary upgrade and paying more. If you choose not to upgrade it reroutes you over and over back to pay and netfile. This is a shifty and shady tactic, after using their services for over a decade I will NOT be back.

Meli Idrizi was very helpful, in optimizing my tax returns and providing me with the best possible discounts i was qualified for. More importantly she was really patient in answering my questions.

I had an excellent experience with Smita at H&R Block - 50 Peel Centre Drive. She provides outstanding customer service and is truly professional in every way. Smita is polite, knowledgeable, and very hardworking. She took the time to explain everything clearly.

I had a great representative named Natalie, she helped me two years in a row. She is very polite, knowledgeable and down to earth. If you chose GrantPark location, ask for Natalie and you won't be disappointed.

This just an alert if you are desiring the Instant Tax Refund offer that H&R Block offers. Their system doesnt permit a client to obtain the Instant Cash Back Refund if you are in a Consumer Proposal. Their system sees "insolvency" as a stumbling block even though its not a bankruptcy. You can be in good standing with your consumer proposal and owe no taxes and all refunds will come directly to you. But H&R Block still views you as a high risk . This of course is grossly unfair! Im hoping with this post that H&R Block Corporate Headquarters can update their policies in their website and to alert all branches to at least advise their current and future clients of this condition so that no one will have wasted time and energy thinking all is ok with the refund. Only to find out in the end its denied! Thank you

Terrific experience! Robin G. provides excellent, expedient services to our family members. He is very knowledgeable and was able to identify areas where we could apply for further tax credits. Robin is kind and patient.

They sent a t4 while missing numerous boxes that cost me thousands dollars in last year's return. They then tried to turn it on me. I called CRA and they advised that H&R Block was responsible for this. It will be a tax lawyer next. AVOID.
