we visited the Colchester Stanway store on 24.10.2026 greeted as we wall in we told them what we was looking for they then left us to look around not putting us under pressure we then ordered the carpet and then arranged a same day visit
all the staff were fantastic and we have already recommend the store to our friends

The home visit person rang 20 minutes…
The home visit person rang 20 minutes before to let us know he was on his way. When he arrived took his shoes off before entering the house. Was very friendly and had lots of advice. Did not push an expensive flooring. Left a few books with flooring in for us to look at. When we decided he worked out a price with all the items needed and the costs price. Tapi then rang so we could book in a fitter in a time that suited us.

This weekend was a weekend of rain, flooding, traffic jams, aaaaaand carpet and wooden flooring shopping with 2 x small children. And for anyone who has small children, you can probably imagine how this could have gone.
However, in swoops David at Tapi carpets in Plymouth, like some kind of Saxony pile super hero.
- Colouring, juice and a free pair of hippo slippers for my 3 year old.
- Emergency tissue for me, after my 10 month old decided to inject his own brand of decoration on the showroom floor.
- Smiles and regular engagement with both children.
The price was right, but so were the prices in the other shops. The difference? David. The guy went above and beyond to make life that much easier, with 2 small children being dragged around carpeting boredom. Did it make life difficult for him? Not at all. Did it make life easier for us? You bet it did!!! The level of customer service this twill pile ninja showed was incredible.

Brilliant service
Jake and his colleague did a brilliant job fitting our flooring . They fitted the LVT perfectly . The quality of work they did was 100% . We couldn’t find a single dissatisfaction and are very happy with service.

Seamless fitting
The whole experience from picking my carpet, receiving a quote, booking my carpet fitting and installation was smooth and well communicated. Vic installed my carpet from the Fort Kinnaird branch and was a pleasure to deal with - I also really appreciated that he was happy to work around having a bed in the room where the carpet was being fitted. The carpet is super cosy and great quality; very happy customer!

Tapi has a big showroom with plenty of choice. Carl was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We thought the price was competitive and felt we were given the time and information to make the best choice. I would not hesitate to recommend this business.

Very nice salesman Ian came round and we discussed the flooring and details very helpful and friendly given quote very happy with, the only thing is if you forgot to mention or he forgot to mention a few things and you contact the store afterwards they tell you that it’s to do with the fitters but surely they communicate with the fitters, that’s the only reason I gave 4 stars otherwise very good
