Tempest Hosting Reviews 

I have been with Tempest Hosting for 3 months now running a high octane Rust server on their dedicated servers and our experience has been nothing but perfect. We have had ZERO issues so far and I heavily recommend that you choose tempest.

Downtime of over a DAY on dedicated machines in Dallas when some genius thought it would be a good idea to last minute move racks of servers to a new datacenter without any warning.

Whoever made this decision needs to seriously reevaluate their position. Ran by monkeys.

After sending a message saying Dallas server migration will begin in 1-3 hours then shut down the power to these servers after 15 mins. After initially having an ETA of 12 hours and missing that deadline they refuse to give an updated ETA to people in their discord who just want to know if they should go plan something else for their weekend but nothing as it coming up on 36 hours with still no ETA. When people point out the lack of transparency and just want an ETA they get Banned in the Tempest discord.

Fast setup times, we have had zero problems with the box which has run perfectly since it was setup. The custom overclocks and cooling works wonders and we see vastly reduced resource load that servers running on the same hardware with other providers. Can't recommend Tempest enough

For a little while I've been waiting for a London MicroCloud server to come back in stock as I feel that's all I potentially need for my current use case.

Recently I was contacted by 'Little Man / GrandDaddySmoke' in Tempest's Discord server, noticing I recently joined, who wanted to reach out to me and if I had any questions or had a service I was interested in then to ask (as well as offering a great discount). I explained that I'm looking for a London MicroCloud server and waiting for something to become available. He added me to his personal list of clients that are in the market for London blades.

The following day I was contacted again with a great offer on a dedicated server which I've decided to take while waiting for a blade to become available. Who knows, I may just end up deciding to stay with this server by the time a blade becomes available anyway.

The server was deployed within a few hours and ready to use. I did some brief network related tests such as average latency to a few IP addresses and some speed testing, all of which have been fantastic.

I ran into an issue the following day as I needed to reinstall Debian 11. Using the DCImanager to try and do this a few times unsuccessfully I then opened a ticket with technical support who responded quickly and after a few messages Dustin tried to reinstall Debian 11 as well, initially unsuccessfully, but figured out what was causing the problem and resolved it within a few hours.

I've since opened another ticket requesting an IPv6 address for the server as well as BGP sessions as I have my own ASN and prefixes, which I'm waiting on their network engineering department to do.

The (edge) firewall manager is an excellent feature enabling you to allow, block, rate limit or otherwise layer 7 filter certain traffic before it actually reaches the IP address of the server, something that you don't often see other competitors provide inclusive in the price of the server or even anywhere near as sophisticated.

IPMI console and KVM access is also provided at no extra cost, easily accessible from DCImanager. DCImanager makes it easy to install a supported operating system automatically if you don't want to get hands on.

It's early days but so far I'm impressed with Tempest and happily recommend them. Also thanks to Fixinator5000 / Zigi (in Discord) for the chats about Path/Tempest.

One of the reasons Tempest feels like a welcoming environment is their staff's participation within their community of clients. I've been able to learn a great deal about the Information Technology industry by associating with new people.

Furthermore I have a game server pushing 200 players on wipe because their services are well within underutilization; If I ever needed to move to a machine for that Rust server to grow further I'm confident it can be a fluid process because every shared service receives a unique IP in order for transitions to be made easily.

I have been using path/tempest services for over a year now and all I can say is that it performs very well. I currently have a 12900ks dedi that has a 5.4ghz all core overclock that I have been using for a number of months now that performs well for game servers.

The thing that sets tempest/path apart from other providers is the network really which has a lot of mitigation capacity and is perfect for game servers due to the strict filtering and anycast a2s cache. They are currently the largest provider with this sort of setup. On top of this all tempest servers come with a 10G port for no extra cost.

While I do not get blasted by large scale attacks it even is capable of filtering out small attacks without causing lag because it only allows game traffic.

Great staff, support, and service. Tickets are responded quickly to answer any questions almost instantly and any problems get fixed in no time. By far the best host I have used in terms of network and support. They also have a great and active community that I always have a great time talking to.

I would recommend Tempest to anyone looking for a hosting provider.

Ive got nothing bad to say about Tempest! Especially the customer Service is great that combined with the great uptime (my service has been up for 7 months without ineruption) and the top notch Protection makes me stay with Tempest!

Terrible experience they require ID without saying anything before purchase. Been 3 days no response from customer relations about refund.
