I have now talked to 5 different people…

I have now talked to 5 different people trying to close out my Terminix account. they are the most expensive pest control option, their service tech kept spraying the pond with the fish in it and the garden my wife had built, and ultimately when I found a better deal I told them I wanted to cancel. they have now tried billing me for upcoming service and had 3 different people call me to try and convince me not to cancel, and now Im getting email bills. Im on the phone with them now and the rep is telling me hes got to send my to yet another agent in order to actually cancel this bullshit. Its predatory, and I hope all of you are Well warned that this is the way these guys operate.

We we contracted Terminex we had our doubts. We had a serious cockroach problem. He had eard from friends that pest control companies never succeed in eradicating roaches. Well Terminex did. They are extremely detailed. Removed all appliances sprayed behind them and out traps. It took months but we have a contract and they will come out every month, or more often, if necessary. We have no roaches at all now. Thank God for Terminex. Our techs name is Larry and we live in Columbia County Fl.

The technicians are great

The technicians arrived on time to insulate the attic. Tech 1395: Rob Mann and Tech 1710: Lorenzo Brandon did an excellent job with the attic. After the installation was completed they cleaned everything and it was as if they were never there! Great job guys. We appreciate you. Thank you.

I can’t say enough negative things…

I can’t say enough negative things about Terminix. My initial experience was absolutely horrible when the sales person came and sold products to me based on absolute lies. He sold me the same exact products that I already had and spaced them in exactly the same way . Yet, when he sold me the product, he said that I needed an updated version of what I already had and that I needed them spaced closer together to get rid of the termites based on some updated guideline. Yet, when the installer came, he gave me the identical product and installed them in exactly the same way, and in fact they installed less than what I already had . He also tried to sell me an encapsulation for my crawlspace, but he kept promising to send me forms that showed the cost of the service and all the financing. He never sent the forms and did not show up on the day. The installers came. I told the installers I have not signed any paperwork and they are not allowed to start any work until official paperwork has been signed. We waited several hours, but the sales person never came through with paperwork so I told the installers to leave and not come back . My second experience was when Terminex sales from a different office sold me the crawlspace encapsulation totaling nearly over $9000. I noticed that they did not cover the pillars during the encapsulation , but that was fixed at a later date. Since the day that the installation was finished, I have made attempts to pay this off with a Mastercard both with the sales person and through the Terminix portal personally. The way that it is being sent to the credit card company from Terminix results in this payment getting rejected by the credit card company . I have made numerous attempts to pay off this balance using 2 different credit cards, just a regular everyday Mastercards. I have used two different Master cards that have the open credit to charge this service. This has been verified with the credit card companies on more than one occasion.The issue is that the person who is paying for the Service with his credit card is different than the person living at the house . So, for whatever reason Terminix can’t seem to submit the request for payment correctly despite at least a dozen or more attempts. I too have submitted payment through their portal and it goes through but later gets declined because terminix software keeps submitting it with my information. This has never been a problem in any other scenario with these two credit cards when using other vendors . I have spent a month trying to get this paid off with 2 different Mastercards, but Terminix tells me it’s a software issue on their end. The Mastercard companies tell me that the way it is received on their end is triggering the decline. Yet Terminix can’t submit it the way the credit card company is requesting it to be received for proper payment. Also, I have been told by Terminix on multiple occasions that a supervisor will call me back, but that has never happened. Also, today I was told that I was being transferred to a supervisor on one occasion, but I just ended up getting sent to the regular automated phone number asking me what I was calling for. So, I have been given many false promises. I have lost all faith in Terminix and will never do business with them again. Today , I got a random person from the billing department trying to collect payment …who has obviously not read any of the notes on my attempts to remedy this situation by calling them endlessly. I am very close to calling an attorney. I have given Terminix two valid payment methods both which have the available credit to charge this service. I can’t help it if the Terminix software is not up to date enough to communicate with the credit card companies in a way for them to receive the payment. You would think for a “ billion dollar company” they would have it togethe, but I think this company is built on scam artists from the top down .I really feel sorry for people who have been in a situation like me and their credit cards are getting rejected even though there is ample available , and are being forced to use their scam financing department, which is what they are pushing for. Well… it’s not happening . They are gonna have to try and figure out how to submit the payment in a way that the credit card company will accept it because the open credit is there.

I wish I could give zero stars

I wish I could give zero stars. Terminix promised thorough pest control and prompt service, but I ended up with the exact opposite. They scheduled multiple visits that never happened, left me scrambling when pests kept returning, and then insisted I still pay for “services rendered.” Every time I tried to get someone on the phone, I was bounced between call center reps with no real answers or accountability. They charge extra fees, make cancellation unbelievably difficult, and once you’re on their billing cycle, it feels like they’ll charge you forever even if you never get the service you signed up for. Seriously unprofessional and disappointing from start to finish.

called on feb 7 to cancel my service. This is for a month to month service. I did not pay for 2 months. I did not receive any treatment for 2 months that I paid. Terminex says I owe them for those 2 months when I never got any confirmation emails that they came and I never called them. I called feb 7 to cancel my service. Was told my service was cancelled. A few days later they tried to bill me, luckily I didn’t have the money in the bank for them to take. I called that day and again said I had cancelled my service. The person said yes I see here it’s cancelled I will remove ur method of payment. Now it’s Feb 13 th and they billed me again, this time the money being taken. I called and the guy said he put in for my refund, the supervisor approved it but the system won’t allow the refund. He said it was because I owed for 2 months. He admitted that it was many errors on their part that the account was cancelled and the card was removed but something about a delay is y the money was taken out. He admitted it should have never been taken out since it shows no card on file. He said it’s documented the day I called to cancel and the day I removed my debit card. But yet it was still taken out. And the system won’t refund it but it’s been applied to my past balance for services I never received. They took out $59. I want it back. Rather I owe or not They were not authorized to take it because I canceled my service and removed my card after they tried charging me after I cancelled my service. That’s 2 times they charged me AFTER I canceled my service. They took it without authorization because the guy even admitted he didn’t see my card because it was removed. So how did they take my money then after I cancelled?

A terrifying billing nightmare—you’re never actually done paying, and the pests are never gone.

I subscribed for months and was stood up multiple times—technicians often missed the scheduled time window. One tech was decent, but most were unprofessional. Even after nearly a year, I still have wasps, stinkbugs and silverfishes issues.

They advertise quarterly service, but nothing happens unless you schedule it yourself. I never received a full professional inspection of my home; they only came when I personally found pests and called.

One technician didn’t show up at all and falsely marked the visit as completed in their system.

I canceled before the quarter ended and confirmed with both customer service and finance team that I owed "nothing". Months later, I received a bill anyway, which they claimed was undisputable due to their "billing cycle". This feels misleading and never-ending. I would not recommend this service.

This is the most incompetent company…

This is the most incompetent company ever. I needed a one time visit, they gave me a price and said it included 2 visits. They charged me for the second visit. I disputed for a long time but finally paid twice since no one was willing to help. After I paid, I wrote a negative review about the experience I had. At that time, the manager agreed that it was their mistake and issued a refund for the second amount. After the refund they sent it to collections. Does that make sense? I called again and was told it would be escalated and resolved. It never did and I kept getting notices so I just ended up paying again, as I did not want my credit blemished over $168. I would never work with these incompetent scammers again.

Not trust worthy

I was misinformed when they presented what I would get and cost of my service. I talked to the company and was told my refund would be partly in the mail and the rest to my card. It has been a month and I haven't received anything. Dont know what treatment they gave me but it never worked. Stay away from terminex

I was very disappointed with the person I initially spoke to when I scheduled my appointment. I specially told him I DID NOT want a contract for service I want a one time service with no monthly fee I want to pay in full for a one time amount . He stated Terminix do not have a contract however an ‘agreement ‘ to pay a monthly amount is a BINDING CONTRACT so I was misled. It’s a blessing that I’m an intelligent woman that read the ‘fine’ print. Needless to say I cancelled the service !! Shame on you TERMINIX 😡

Business Complaint – Service and Billing Practices

I enrolled in a monthly pest control service with Terminix. Despite this, service was not provided automatically. I was repeatedly informed that a technician would only be dispatched if I called when pest activity was severe, which is inconsistent with a monthly service agreement.

When service was requested, the technician appeared rushed and visibly frustrated, expressing annoyance that the visit had been scheduled. The quality of service was poor and did not meet reasonable expectations.

After several months, my wife contacted Terminix to cancel the service. No further service visits occurred after October. However, in January, I received a $114 bill that had been sent to collections, despite no services being rendered during the intervening months.

Upon contacting Terminix, I was informed that the cancellation was allegedly invalid because there were no internal notes documenting it. I was further told I was responsible for charges for months following the last service visit, even though no service was performed. Terminix stated that the local branch declined the dispute and demanded payment, offering no resolution.

Customer service representatives were unprofessional and dismissive, particularly when discussing cancellation. It was evident that representatives were following a retention script designed to resist cancellations rather than resolve customer concerns.

I am disputing the charges for services not provided and object to the account being sent to collections without proper verification. Terminix’s billing and cancellation practices appear misleading and unfair, placing the burden on the customer when internal documentation is incomplete.

Horrendous Pest control Company

This is by far the worst pest control company within Quebec. The poor service begins with their customer service in which you are treated horribly if you speak english. Following this the requirements for your issue are not properly passed on to the techs. We had a tech spray for roaches and bed bugs and left stains along the walls. The tech told us to take it up with his manager. When i called i was transfered and still never go a resolvement spanning accross 3 months. They provide poor service and its clear their techs are upset and hate their work. Customer service is poor/ inefficient and its a poorly managed company with clearly misguided views.

Terrible Company

We recently ended our contract with Terminix. We were going to paint the exterior of our house and when walking around with the painter, we noticed some termite damage. The damage was on the second story soffit over a small tiled garage roof extension. I got up there and realized it was quite extensive after digging around a bit (see photos). I saw a live termite then called Terminex, a company that we had been with for a while. They told us that they can't do anything unless we have a video of a live termite. I tried digging around but was unable to get a video. It's difficult to dig around holding a camera on a tile roof. They said that they would send someone out. After he got here he said that he wasn't going to get on the roof and they would send another person out that can stand on the roof. The next person came out and stuck a ladder against the second story roof and tried to take pictures. What he was doing looked pretty useless. We called the company back and they said they couldn't do anything. Mind you, we had paid our contracts for years (probably thousands of dollars) and this was not the service we expected. We immediately canceled the contract. I treated the area myself and patched it before painting but was furious at this company. Stay away from them, they are useless when you need them. Just so you know, we didn't start out with this company and the original company (which was very good) had been bought out by Terminix.

Do yourself a favor and choose anyone but Terminix

This company is horrible, despite the fact that the individual customer service representatives are polite and professional. Unfortunately, the way Terminix operates makes it an extremely frustrating company to deal with.

First, billing is a mess. If you call in, you are often offered a lower price than what appears on the invoice, which shows how inconsistent and inflated their pricing is. They constantly push autopay, additional services, or paying a full year upfront with “discounts” (for example, $200 off), which only highlights how much they overprice services to begin with. I do not want to prepay for services I haven’t yet received.

Second, the constant calls and letters are excessive. I receive repeated calls trying to upsell more services, and I’ve received letters stating my account is overdue and headed to collections before I’ve even received the monthly invoice. This is stressful and completely unacceptable.

The worst part, however, is how difficult they make it to cancel. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone just trying to terminate service, giving all my information, only to be told I had to be transferred again to another department. When you try to cancel, you are forced to listen to additional sales pitches and retention offers. It’s clear that customer service representatives are required to follow a scripted process before cancellation, which feels less like customer service and more like harassment of customers who are simply trying to end service.

On top of that, Terminix uses bait station retrieval as another delay tactic, claiming cancellation cannot be finalized until an appointment is scheduled to remove equipment. This adds another layer of inconvenience and creates unnecessary delays, during which billing can continue.

There are literally hundreds of pest control companies that do not operate this way. Do yourself a favor and choose anyone but Terminix.
