I warned them I would review for their blank and gross negligence - Lynchburg Virginia branch - can’t speak for the others. I never signed a contract with them and they have me in collections for $40 when I had proof I called them - paid $139 over the phone and got confirmation we were DONE. I had one mouse and it ended up costing lhundreds. Put me in collection over 40$ wi h no contract when I paid them for doing what? I don’t know if they came out because I never got a text after the 2nd time. Absurd - learn how to do business!!!
Terminix is a scam
Terminix is a scam. Never use them. I wish I had read the reviews before deciding to go with them. Their inspectors are glorified salesmen and their techs are lazy. Neither my tech or inspector even brought their own ladder. I provided the tech with a ladder and they just threw a few glue traps around the entrance to the attic and couple in the basement. Over three hundred dollars for that!!! The inspector never even went into the attic. He told me that they would strategically place traps but they did hardly anything, then they left mouse poop all over the floor in my house. For my second of the two initial visits, the tech didn't ever set an appointment. I got a notification 30 minutes before that the he was coming and had to leave work. He caught 3 mice in the basement and that was it. I cancelled my service and still hear the critters running around in my attic because I wasn't about to pay 60 a month for them to come to my house and do nothing. I requested a refund and a call from the branch manager but never got one. I've called three times to request a call back but they never call back and they also haven't notified me that they denied my request for refund, which they are supposed to do. I only found that out by calling back and talking to one of the customer service associates.
Terminix missed several appts
Terminix missed several appts. They billed us for a visit they never made. Technicians are nice but the company does not answer inquires and made it impossible to cancel service. We switched to Green Pest. They are fantastic!!
Missed multiple Appointments
Had an appointment set up for Dec. 8 th 2025 between 8-10 am for our annual Multi Point Home Inspection. No one showed up. Later that day received a text stating that I had an Appointment on Dec. 12 th between 8-10 am. No one showed up. Called Terminix and was told that a Cedric Johnson would be out on Dec. 15 th between 8-10 am. No one showed up. On hold as I type this awaiting an answer as to what is going on and why I am being jerked around like this.
Unreliability
The employees are polite. My problem with Terminx involves scheduling. Though I have not been a long term customer I have repeatedly had technicians not show up on the day or at the time that I expected them.

If I could give zero stars I would. They charged me 6 months after I sold my parents home in Florida even though I called and cancelled the service. These people are dirtbags and cannot be trusted. If you want your money stolen, use these guys.

for about 15-20 minutes.
When we need an invoice to get reimbursed from our insurance policy, they wouldn't lift a finger to create the type of invoice the insurance required.

Signed Up for a $1,800 Contract Without My Consent — And It Only Got Worse
Don't ever use this company! What should have been straightforward turned into a confusing, exhausting mess that I’m still trying to sort out.
I reached out to Terminix for one issue, expecting clarity and support, not a surprise $1,800 contract I never agreed to. No one mentioned it, no one asked, and yet there it was on my account as if my consent didn’t matter at all.
What makes it almost surreal is that they also enrolled me in mosquito control—in November, in New Jersey, when even the mosquitoes have packed up and gone home. Then came the moment I walked outside and saw they had sprayed my organic garden with chemicals. No warning, no conversation, no chance for me to protect the space I’ve nurtured. And despite all of that, they still didn’t treat the actual problem I called for.
They promised to return in two weeks for a follow-up. Instead, they pushed it out an entire month, leaving the original issue untouched. Every attempt to get answers or even a sliver of accountability has only drained more of my time. I’ve spent more than five hours on the phone begging them to fix their mistake—cancel the contract I never signed, refund the money they never should have taken, and make things right.
I wish the worst part was the hassle. But the truth is, the real blow is knowing I still need to hire someone else to actually solve the problem they ignored.
If I could give zero stars, I would. This was careless, dishonest, and deeply frustrating from start to finish.
Terrible service.
Terrible service. We have a warranty and they are supposed to inspect every year. Not once in ten years have they showed up when they were supposed to the first time first time. Today is no exception this is there second attempt service window 1 to 3pm. Had to call them at 230pm. They said they would call the tech and he would text me with an eta. 318 pm no text. If we could move to another company we would but that would be thousands of dollars because the new company will have to remediate the whole house before they would give us a warranty. We know that as the company, cooper, told us that they said they cannot assume the risk of another companies work, which is understandable.
Incomplete Service/ Payment Still Expected
We agreed to a 3 month Exclusion Service for rodents that cost over $1200. The service was NEVER completed. The technician Chris refused to get up on a ladder to complete part of the service his own Manager Juan had identified as necessary. We contacted Juan numerous times to get the service completed, he acknowledged that someone needed to come back. But when the time came to schedule someone Juan never responded to text messages or phone calls. So, the service was never completed.
We disputed the payment for the service with our credit card company and they agreed with us that we should not pay and they refunded our money.
Then TERMINEX sent an email saying we still owed the money and are sending us to a collection agency!!!
DO NOT USE TERMINEX! They do not complete their contracts and still expect payment.

My family had an absolutely terrible experience with Terminix, and I want to warn other consumers — especially seniors — to be extremely careful.
A Terminix representative came to my father’s home to sign him up for a drainage system. My father, who is a senior citizen, handed the rep his bank card because the rep said he was setting up automatic payments directly to Terminix. What the rep actually did was sign my dad up for a GreenSky loan — something my father did NOT know, did NOT agree to, and did NOT understand he was being enrolled in. There was never any clear disclosure that a third-party loan was being opened in his name.
My father didn’t even know the loan existed until letters started arriving in the mail weeks later.
Because of this deception, my dad felt he had no choice but to pay on an account he did not authorize. For over a year, GreenSky drafted money from his bank account — and many months they drafted twice (the regular payment and a late fee), even though the loan itself was set up behind his back by a Terminix rep.
To finally escape this mess, on September 8th, my father paid $2,658.58 in a lump sum just to be done with it — after already paying monthly for a full year. The day before, on September 7th, another $187 was drafted from his account.
Then, on October 10th, GreenSky corporate emailed saying that fees were being waived, the account had been adjusted to a credit balance, and a refund check would be sent. We thought the ordeal was finally over.
But on November 14th, my father received yet another email — this time saying his GreenSky account was late. This proved that GreenSky never properly corrected the issue that TERMINIX created!
And if the financial deception wasn’t bad enough, the actual work done was also nothing like what the rep showed or promised. What they installed looked far cheaper and completely different from the demonstration. Terminix:
Damaged my dad’s air duct
Left plastic, trash, and debris all over the side of the house
Walked away from the job leaving a mess and zero cleanup
Delivered work that did not match the advertised system
This entire experience — from the misleading financing, to a year of double drafts, to a forced lump-sum payment, to a promised refund, to STILL being told the account is “late,” to the poor-quality work and mess — has been a nightmare for my father and our family.
Terminix needs to take responsibility for their representatives’ actions and the harm they cause, especially to seniors who trust what they’re being told. Based on our experience, we will never use Terminix again and strongly warn others to think twice before signing anything with them.

I discovered I had squirrels in my attic and contacted Terminix. I was informed that the services provided would be swift and effective but IT HAS BEEN THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE! No one is in communication with the other. The "traps" were set a month ago and no one has been back to check the "traps" or clear them from the pest. And I still hear the squirrels day and night so therefore the problem has not been resolved. I spent too much of my money on this for Terminix to be a complete waste of time and money. I WOULD NEVER SUGGEST TERMINIX TO ANYONE FOR ANYTHING. The complete process has been HELLLLLLLLLL!

While I did speak with an agent by the name of Melissa who assisted us well today Nov 1st, we are still waiting for a scheduled appt. We have reached out almost 2 weeks ago to schedule and was advised that we would receive an update when an appt becomes available. During our wait for an update, we received a text stating that a tech was on the way. We were not informed of this appt. and were not at the property to attend the appt. I immediately reached out to customer care and this was horrible, not only was I transferred to the wrong department 2 times, when calling in today, we were advised that the request was closed. This is an urgent matter and the scheduling process is very difficult. I was told that the District Manager, James, would be informed of the need for this to be scheduled and we haven’t heard from anyone in 2 business days. We had to reach out again and was advised that this matter would be escalated. We are hoping to be contacted to agree on a scheduled appt and to be schedule asap.
I had an awful experience with Terminix
I had an awful experience with Terminix. The salesperson flat-out lied about what services would be provided, and once I signed up, it quickly became clear that what I was promised was not what they delivered. I tried multiple times to get someone from management to call me back, but no one responded until I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. That’s completely unacceptable for a company of this size. I would not recommend Terminix to anyone — be very careful about what they tell you before you sign anything.
We sold our home & cannot cancel service
We sold our home a year ago and cannot get our service cancelled. Terminix continues to call and harass us, saying a $317 renewal fee (for the home we no longer own) is about to go to collections, and they have no record of any communication from us about canceling our service. Unbelievable. We have spent hours on the phone trying to cancel this account.
Poor service
The company is obviously grown too large to give quality service. You can only get a call center if you have an issue or want service. The branch manager does not return calls. They canceled my appointments and rescheduled with no notice. No one accepts responsibility. When service was cancelled with 6 months left on agreement, they refused to refund my money after I paid for full year of service. Advice hiring a local small company where a responsible person answers your calls. Other issues I don't have space to include. NOT recommended by no means. RUN and find a local small responsible company and ask for references. Just my opinion based on my experience.

If you're looking to be mislead, scammed on service, overcharged, manipulated, etc...Terminix is your company!
If you have mice, do not fall for the exclusion service! The free in home inspection is a sales representative who will use every sales technique in the book. Do not fall for it! You can complete the exclusion service on your own...you will save yourself money, time and a headache! Get the insulating foam and use it under vinyl siding, cracks around doors/windows, chimneys, and the foundation of your home.
Buy your own mouse traps, sticky pads and bait as you will pay a fortune for them to bring the same things.
The customer service representatives have no idea what's going on, you will be told something different each time you call. To get you off the phone, they promise that management will reach out via phone. You will not hear from management.
I should have canceled sooner. Please do not fall for the scam like I did.
Terminix is a fraud
Terminix operates on a fraudulent business model
1) Bait stations do not work and pop out of the ground
2) Scheduling service is impossible — customer service says a technician will get in contact but no one does
2) Cancelling the contract is made deliberately impossible; they have to schedule a pick up of bait stations before you can cancel, but no one will contact you to schedule the pick up; meanwhile you continue to get billed. This is fraud.
