Tripmate was always available to answer any questions that I had. The written directions were easy to follow. I liked being able to submit online. I’m sure it speeded up the response time. I would certainly use trust them again if I book a trip.

Full Pmt For Cnx Viking Trip
Mar 20 flight (booked by Viking) to NOLA for pre cruise extension, then eight day cruise. Wife and I both Covid, multiple Dr visits, past the worst symptoms, recovering, but still physically compromised. Viking rep w/whom we'd been coordinating as situation developed advised no issue if need to cnx. Notified Viking night prior to skd departure and rec'd their formal Cnx Invoice w/comprehensive detail of pmts and methods. Initial Trip Mate rep advised (and claim form supports this) rqd docs would include Viking Cnx Invoice, TM's claim forms (w/a signed physician's stmt), plus any credit card stmts and/or bank stmts which showed pmt transfers... 50+ page PDF compiled after several days spent downloading stmts and obtaining Dr's stmt. Night prior to emailing TM, called for final confirmation of extensive docs rqd, was advised Viking Cnx Invoice (plus TM claim forms) had sufficient detail, no other supporting stmts were rqd... Called the next morning, different rep w/same message. Emailed abbreviated docs, rec'd echecks (first experience w/that) ~2 wks later (Apr 24). If we ignore the wasted time and effort resulting from the conflicting guidance, was a pretty straight forward process with the complete reimbursement we'd been advised to expect. We've grumbled when paying for trip/travel ins, but no more. Thank you Trip Mate.

Had to cancel due to illness and they processed the claim on line with easy instructions. Paid in full in one week after submission. Excellent service and would use them again for the replacement trip.

Great experience with Tripmate
I don't typically write reviews, but I'm compelled to write an extremely positive review because I've seen so many poor ones for Tripmate. We had to cancel our cruise due to a medical emergency and surgery (all is fine now). The process was seamless from beginning to end, starting with the clear instructions online. Customer service was always available and helpful by phone, and I could continue to check the progress of our claim online. Granted, it was a pretty straightforward claim with all the necessary documentation, but I had the refund within a couple of weeks of submitting the paperwork. Thanks to Tripmate for easing the stress of surgery and missing our trip. I will use them again.

Wife with ALS denied claim
My wife and I booked a trip with Viking in October 2024. I informed the agent that my wife has ALS. She was diagnosed with it I August 2024. At the time she was mobile. I asked if she was unable to travel can we get a refund. The answer was yes. So we purchased Trip Mate insurance for $1598. In January, she became wheelchair bound, she could no longer walk. We then cancelled our trip. I have supplied trip mate with a plethora of information. They have cancelled our claim. So buyers be advised, they are not the top of the line travel insurance company. I am very disappointed. I will never use trip mate again. My next step is to contact an attorney.

After suffering a fall and not being able to travel, Trip Mate was very helpful in my getting trip refunded in a timely manner. Representative were very detailed in what was needed and quick to refund money.

Trip Mate is a waste of money, our trip was canceled by the resort and they informed us they would not refund our flights, and trip mate says (in small print) they don't cover losses because of hotel cancelations.

We had a trip cancellation claim. Tripmate adjudicated the claim promptly and fairly. I made calls to Trip Mate before we submitted the claim to fully understand the process and the representatives I spoke with were courteous and helpful. Our claim had all the required documentation and the extra care on the front end was beneficial.

10 Days Turned To 9 Days
Our 10 day trip turned into 9 days due to our flight being delayed a full 24 hours because of inclement weather. I submitted the claim when we returned home. The only thing I did not do was submit all my documents online. There were too many to submit so I mailed them instead. We received reimbursement for losing one day at our all inclusive resort in about a month after submission. I will always take out the travel insurance.

We had booked a trip with Viking and unfortunately we had to cancel due to health issues. Both Viking and Trip Mate have been outstanding. I just called Trip Mate and spoke with Ethel. She was extremely helpful and patient.
Helpfully we will be scheduling the next trip very soon and Viking and Trip Mate will be on our agenda.

My wife got sick right before our Viking Cruise. We were told how to proceed we were pleasantly surprised how things progressed once all the paperwork was received and processed. We received the amount we had requested for our reimbursement and the customer service people were quick and responsive to my questions.

Covered a trip delay due to cancelled flight
We had a trip delay to an all inclusive resort due to a flight being cancelled because of unplanned mechanical issues. The airline did not reimburse anything. However, trip mate was easy to use and track, the submission process was easy to send proof of changes and receipts. We received a partial refund which I am pleased with. We eventually made it to our destination but missed nearly two days of our trip. Tripmate refunded a partial amount that I am pleased made up for our lost days and the money we had to spend even though we didn’t get to enjoy the amenities. We have already purchased insurance again for our next trip! Thanks, Tripmate!

Peace of Mind
No one ever expects their once in a lifetime trip to be cancelled due to an unexpected hospitalization but sadly ours was. While still recovering I tackled the refund forms, which were thankfully pretty easy to follow and were soon on their way to Trip Mate. I appreciated the link that allowed me to see the progress of my claim status and also the text that informed me that my refund was approved and on its way. My only complaint would be how expensive it is but otherwise I plan on using them again for our next cruise.

Our claim for a stolen piece of luggage was easy to file online, upload receipts and proof of reporting to authorities. Able to track online, but also received emails confirming receipt, status and favorable resolution. Only took a little over a month to receive our payment. Awesome service.

Trip Mate delivers…again.
This is, unfortunately, the second time I had to file a claim with Trip Mate due to illness. However, just like the first time, they delivered. I found the claim process to be fair and timely. And, before we purchased the insurance, we knew what was and what was not covered. Yes, we had to submit documents, including a doctor’s statement. I find that a very reasonable request. I can’t believe some of the one-star reviews I have read. People wanting to receive payment for non-covered reasons; not wanting to have to submit supporting documents; and wanting to receive payment yesterday. I will continue to utilize Trip Mate until I have a poor experience which I do not expect to happen.

Will Definitely Use Trip Mate Again!
My husband was informed he needed surgery unexpectedly before our upcoming trip to Europe. Submitting the claim to Trip Mate was seamless and I received prompt service from Customer Service rep. Easy to submit the claim online, along with uploading the appropriate documentation, and I appreciated the ability to check on the status of my claim as well. We were notified in a very timely manner that the claim was being processed and payment came shortly after approval. We are planning to travel again internationally next year and will definitely be using Trip Mate as our travel insurance again!

My First Travel Insurance Claim
I have never had to file a claim on trip insurance, but now I know why it is so necessary. You just never know what can happen. We booked a 15 day Viking cruise in France with two other couples in April and made final payment in June, 2024. My back trouble started in August, and eventually led to scheduling back surgery. By the time they could get me on the schedule (March 20th), it was too late to make a full recovery before the cruise. Reluctantly, we canceled our cruise with Viking. They immediately refunded 25% (per their cancelation policy and the number of days left). I went online and printed all the claim forms I needed. I was able to complete all of them myself (Viking sends a lot of the information you need) except for the surgeon's form. I dropped that off at his office and got it back in a couple of days. I scanned all of the claim forms and emailed it to Trip Mate. I never spoke to an agent, but had approval within days, and the checks days after that. I received a full refund of what I was expecting. I will definitely use Trip Mate again. In fact, we have rescheduled that cruise for next Spring and took out the same insurance.
