UK Energi Reviews 

As a former consultant who spent years researching and training other companies' staff in customer service, I have a keen interest (both personal and professional) in the subject. Being a Yorkshireman and engineer means that product quality and price are also very important to me! I've been delighted with all aspects of the solar panel and battery installation, value for money and energy savings so far.

Great customer service is only truly tested when not everything goes right and in this respect UK Energi have been exceptional. The people at UK Energi that I have dealt with have all been fantastic. Of particular note I'd like to mention the following:

Joe, with his friendly and polite, unpushy style gave me great information and guidance from the start, and saved me from going to a competitor with inferior products and worse payback.
Reece, Evan (& Brad) have all 'gone the extra mile' in helping to solve my wifi problem that was preventing me from fully utilising the Sunsyk app to get the best from the system.
Jenny, an ever-positive, friendly and helpful voice on the phone, despite me ringing many times to get my issue solved.

I would recommend UK Energi to anyone who wants to deal with a quality outfit.

The salesman, Paul Fulthorpe, came to our property and spent quite a long time talking to us about the solar panel installation. He went into the attic (and checked that a particular area had not leaked - beyond the call of duty), out into the garage for the battery installation, measured the roofs and did projections of the sun's arc. He then plotted it out on graph paper. The company were quick to send a proposal which we accepted. From the first visit to final installation was almost exactly 2 months. UK Energi were always happy to answer our inquiries and it was reassuring to know that they were always at the end of the telephone. We were impressed with the documentation we received. Our battery was charging even on a dull day. Would thoroughly recommend the company if you are thinking about having solar panels

Tracy was really helpful in explaining the system and the options and finding the right system for me. The gentlemen installing the battery, inverter and panels were good and efficient. The communication was clear all the way through. I have no criticisms!

Rory Jackson has the patience of a saint because my husband is a difficult customer and asked a lot of questions. Rory answered all his questions, even on the weekend and was exceptional. Once we agreed to the quote, things moved quickly. The customer service team took over. The scaffolding went up on the day agreed. The team did this quickly and efficently and were extra careful as it was on our neighbours garden. The team came and fitted the panels, again quickly and efficently and then it was the turn of the electrician, he looked at the job and improved on what was agreed, making the installation look so much tidier. Excellent Job. Customer service, again, nothing was too much trouble, my husband still had questions and when they said they would phone him back, they did. Very rare these days. An excellent job done by all the teams and two very happy customers

Great salesman with all the patter, unbelievable quoted price, good installation process. All good until the figures they quote for solar energy you will get.
I have 10 x 450w panels which worked fine producing an average of about 10kw per day, a bit below predicted but OK. Production then fell to a meagre 4kw av per day in one of the bluest sky October i can remember. One day it was brilliant sunshine ALL day a day all i got was 1.2kw. Spoke to UK Energy who basically just blew me off with rubbish reasons and now want to potentially charge me to come out and check to see if there is an issue! My advice don't pay cash if you are going with these.

Ok, had a response but it is factually incorrect. Let's say just 4 panels are working to the full potential, even then I should be getting more than 2.5kw on a totally cloudless blue sky day.

Uk Energi installed a full solar system with batteries as well as a Zappi car charger. They were very efficient and professional throughout especially Tracy who was very contactable for any queries.

Absolutely abysmal from day 1 of starting the project
Wanted an enphase system and they said they specialised in it so I went with them
They didn't have certification to install enphase so that was a month wasted
They then got the scaffolding wrong 3 times forgetting to put in a point of entry onto the roof, each visit was another week of delay so that was already almost a month
My living room and garden was cluttered with electrical equipment during this time
Once the works started, there were constant issues of missing parts and forgotten cables which added months of delay
Once everything was finally up and running I requested for compensation for the delays which was mandated in our contract, they then ignored settlement figures and had to try and deal with an extremely childish member of staff, Mr P. Ryalls, a "Managing Director", and tried to back peddle for another few months until they tried to take me to court, of which they then finally agreed to a settlement figure
Absolutely bonkers company, and I'm still waiting on an MCS for export, this all started in January.

I had a choice between them and Heatable, should've paid a bit more and gone with the more professional company

Received a call back from Joe after completing an online comparison form somewhere and from start to finish all went well with no pressure. Joe managed to give me a good idea of what we would be looking at and a price within about 45 min phone call and sent me over all the details to go over.

As I was juggling a few home projects agreed a check in date which was stuck too and wasn’t bother in the interim. Very competitive price and the team were happy to answer any questions I had.

Pretty flexible with install date and then all happened pretty swiftly after the survey and cool off period scaffolding the day before install and then the panels battery and invert the next. Good demo of how to use the app and all the safety bits you need to know about also on the day of install

Had the system coming up to a week and couldn’t be happier thank you all!!!!

Throughout the entire process, every single person I have spoken with at UK Energi has been polite, helpful and professional.

The salesman, Paul, was friendly and knowledgeable. Unlike other companies, who quote online using maps, Paul visited us in person. He obtained measurements of the roof and property to ensure the sizing of the installation quoted was as accurate as possible. Paul then worked with us subsequently to ensure we had a system that would deliver for our needs.

Following the discussions with Paul, we then had a query about the quote documentation. So, I contacted the office and was able to discuss my query with Jenny, who was again friendly and helpful despite my undoubtedly silly questions!

Once our deposit was paid, we then had the pleasure of speaking with Peter, who was our project manager. Peter ensured we had the right information relating to scaffolding installation, timings for the onsite team doing the installation and subsequent scaffolding removal. Again, just as with everyone else at UK Energi, Peter was happy to handle my queries, responding to text messages past normal working hours where warranted.

And so we reached the installation. The Scaffolders were prompt and on time.. and fast! The scaffolding was installed both front and rear of the property in under 3 hours, and the team were friendly with it.

On the day of installation, the UK Energi van with the roofers and the equipment to be installed on the roof arrived, again promptly. They wasted no time at all in getting set up, checking the scaffolding, unloading the various fittings for the panels and getting started. It should come as no surprise that the roofers were just as friendly as their other colleagues in UK Energi.

A couple of hours later, the electrician arrived to begin the inverter and battery installation. Equally friendly and helpful, he explained certain aspects of the installation to my enquiring mind, and additionally worked with me to ensure that I could leverage a wired network connection to my house for the inverter instead of a wireless one. The installation of the equipment on the wall was completed exceptionally neatly.

The on-site team worked fantastically together, and the only delay for the electrician at the end was with some niggles commissioning the system with Givenergy.

By great fortune, the first full day of the system being installed was a sunny one, and the impact of this on my electricity consumption was dramatic, with large parts of my day seeing the smart meter reporting usage of electricity at 0!

The scaffolding was removed a couple of weeks later. This is longer than normal due to the Scaffolders having a week's holiday in the mix, however it was no inconvenience to us.

The part of the process that is out of UK Energi's control is that with the DNO, who are responsible for issuing the certification and documentation that permits setup of an export tariff. At time of leaving this review (1 month after installation), we are still waiting for this documentation. I understand that this is far from uncommon, however this has absolutely not stopped Jenny at UK Energi coming to the rescue! Jenny has been pushing the DNO (even including me in the email trail!) to get this for me as quickly as possible. Given all the other interactions so far, I've no doubt that this, too, will be resolved very soon.

My most sincere and exuberant thanks to all involved in delivering this significant project for us.

After receiving quotes from 5 solar companies I decided to go with Ukenergi based in Doncaster. They were the only company to do a site visit and were fairly local to me. TBH I expected a high price to cover that cost and possibly a pushy salesperson. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Tracy was with us 4 hours planning and discussing our requirements. I had lots of questions! We ended up with a much better option for us due to the site visit. I would have had less panels with other companies who hadn’t considered putting the panels on different aspects of our roof. I told them I wanted panels on my garage only so this is what other companies quoted for. Tracy gave us other options to consider. She wasn’t pushy. Initially I wanted 2 batteries. Obviously it was our decision to make however she suggested that as we are low users one battery would likely be sufficient and we could always add another later although it would be dearer than having 2 batteries initially. She hid nothing regarding pricing and was very open and honest. The overall price was competitively priced taking in to consideration the extra panels. We took the plunge and our panels were installed a couple of weeks later. Ukenergi took care of the application for the DNO and we had nothing to do. Communication is excellent and they are always available to answer any questions.
The installation went well and whilst the electrician had a difficult install he couldn’t have been more helpful. Everyone did an excellent job with all wiring neatly secured. They left the site clean and tidy. The electrician stayed late and then came back day after to finalise the set up for us. The only slight issue was with the scaffolding company that they use. They caught our garage door with the scaffold poles and left a couple of small scratches. Ukenergi took ownership and dealt with the issue to our satisfaction. Ukenergi could not have dealt with this any better and I am extremely happy with the way they dealt with the issue. I highly recommend Ukenergi and if it hadn’t been for the scaffolders this would have been the perfect install. Their pricing is competitive, customer service exceptional and workmanship also excellent.

Tracy was a brilliant, knowledgable and friendly advisor. The installation crew headed up by Rudi were very conscientious and my rather complicated after-sales service and help have been attended to with courtesy and efficiency! Would certainly recommend.

Had solar panels and a home battery fitted at our home. Everything from the initial conversation about what we would like to the survey and install happened without a hitch. We couldn't fault Joe, he was so polite, friendly and knowledgeable, like the entire team. Nothing was ever to much for anyone.
We're so happy with our system and it's performance and wouldn't hesitate to recommend UK Energi to anyone thinking about solar panels.

The whole experience was smooth and quick and any minor issues dealt with before even known . From the start Rory was very helpful and made the process easy ( love mum) only joking the whole team was great. Impressed with the speed of it all 😃

The sales person(Tracy) was very helpful and informative as was all the installation crew. All were very efficient and every one kept to a predetermined timetable. I have no hesitation in recommending UK Energi to anyone thinking of installing solar panels

My ground mounted solar system began to be installed on Tuesday 16th July. I was told it would be finished by close of play Wednesday 17th July and today Thursday 29th August it is still not completed. So over six weeks later the installation is not complete and the mess created by the installation has not been rectified.
I had to get planning permission for the installation which took time but Ellie at UK Energi was very helpful. The MD was present for the installation and he said he had no knowledge of the plans and was going to install the panels anywhere as long as it was 5 meters from the neighbours fencing. On the 11th July I was told the original kit had had a delayed delivery so the company said they would alter the kit so the panels would go landscape. I was advised that the main difference was that the new kit was shorter in length than the old kit. However when reviewed by Bolsover Planning it was in fact longer and higher!
The had a digger to help with the digging up of the grassed area. Unfortunately the two men left to put the turf back over the cables said they weren't gardeners and refused to do it. A week later the MD arrived with fresh turf to lay down. That died within a couple of days. I was told on Tuesday 30th July they would "rectify any issues and make right what is wrong". The digger left black dirt marks and soil on my patio area. On Tuesday 20th August I was told "we will return and clean the patio once we have a fully working system." Today, Thursday 29th August, I was told the electrician would arrive by 1pm in order that I would, hopefully, have a fully working system. At 1.15pm I phoned their office as the electrician who was due at 1pm hadn't turned up. I was telephoned back 30 minutes later to be told the electrician wouldn't be arriving at all today. So why do I have to wait for my patio be cleaned, why can't I have the paddock returned to how it was before and when will I have a fully working system? All I am told is that they are very busy.

Great communication from start to finish. I was kept upto date with the installation date and names of panel installers & electrician.
The quality of the work was excellent the solar panels & battery look good quality

On deciding going with UK Energi the installation of 9 panels, battery and inverter (07/24) was soon done and went with no problems.
A couple of weeks later I noticed a "Status" light on the battery not working. With only slight concern I contacted UK E via email, no reply so a few days later I sent it again. Several days later I had a call giving apologies and explanations as to why the delay in contacting me. He told me that if not later that day someone will contact me the next day. That was 3 weeks ago and no call.... So !, For a good job of selling and fitting I recommend UK Energi, for the after sales service, good luck with that !.
Sad really, I chose them on the belief would have the accreditation for many years after.
