Great experience!
I had a great experience today with Vintage & Collectables at Colburn. I've never visited a valuation day before, and didn't know what to expect, but the young Lady expert that I saw, quickly put me at ease. The watches that I'd brought along were to be sold to raise funds for our charity, and although they were far too modern for V&C, she told me how to maximise the value of the watches, and showed me exactly where and how to sell them! V&C even made a donation to our charity as well! Now I don't know about you, but I think that's fantastic service! Honest, trustworthy and by far went the extra mile to help. Can't fault V&C in any way, would recommend them to anyone. Delighted! Many thanks V&C!

They were very polite supportive…nans old jewellery.
They were very polite supportive interested in the history of the items and explained what items were are what the value was..
My items were my late grandmothers old jewellery and i had no interest in them and was very happy with how the deal went.

Go to a reliable trader, you will not get the best price…
They promised they pay the best prices but totally undervalued our vintage heuer watch, not by a small amount but by a lot! We put our trust in them.
I advise everyone to do your homework before taking anything to this company !
We feel totally foolish and let down, there is no come back with this company. I hope we help other people not to be taken in by them. THEY DO NOT OFFER THE BEST PRICE.
I have just received your reply and you still have not addressed the fact that, we told you we had no idea of price on the chronograph heuer vintage watch, your valuer asked a expert on the phone, you offered £300. As we were about to walk away we were offered£500! My husband as I told you has dementia, we asked if this was the best valuation and were more or less told it was a very good price!
You and I know it’s worth thousands more than that. It’s a 1960,s watch and in very good condition for its age. This is not about selling a sentimental
Watch, it’s about the very sick feeling that you have taken advantage of us in our ignorance ! You need to right this wrong and do the decent thing. You can still make a very healthy profit from my husbands watch but we need recompense also!
We look forward to hearing from you as promised because I can’t let this happen to my vunrable but very special husband. This money is for his future care!!!

Offered me over 50% less than currant…
Offered me over 50% less than currant gold value for my two wedding rings yesterday. £90 got £220 today in town. Silver pocket watch also a great deal less than lowest market value. It was an insult. Luckily I had a feeling to reject the offer. Definitely somebody is lining their own pockets. I do know all firms will give you a lower price to start but not that much. I may have white hair but got all my facilities😡

Very easy and quick way to value and sell immediately.
I had quite a lot of silver, silver plated items. Gold and costume jewellery plus some cameras from clearing my late mums house.
They worked out the value as went along and then ask if I wanted to sell all of it or part or none. No pressure whatsoever.
The money was then transferred into my bank account while I was there.
Would definitely recommend.
I came away with more than I had anticipated.

Disappointing and demoralising experience
I took quite a large number of items to a recent roadshow in my area, where I found the valuer I saw to be very unfriendly and offhand.
I pointed out the brochure that came through our door was very misleading because the valuer said they weren't interested in a number of items that the brochure says they take in any condition. Eg, trench art and WW1 Christmas boxes are shown but he just said there's a lot of it about, when I produced mine. Everything else was also rudely dismissed.
Despite the brochure saying "Why not turn [old fountain pens] from a drawer filler into a wallet filler?", he told my mum that nobody wants pens because nobody writes any more!!!
If you do decide to take anything to a roadshow, make sure you have a rough idea what it is worth first, and decide what you're willing to accept. Having done my research, and fully aware that the company has to make a profit, I was expecting a lot more than the £40 I was offered. He suggested I think about using a local auction house "because that's only what we do". Needless to say, I declined and took everything back home.
All in all, it was a disappointing and demoralising experience after the hype of the brochure.

The experience did not live up to the brochure.
The experience did not live up to the glossy brochure dropped through my door. There was not a team of experts just two young males assessing items and making offer. On arrival there was nobody to welcome you or tell you of the process, just a chair with a note pad and pen. Not even a notice to ask you to add your name to a list on the note pad. No porters to help you bring your goods inside.
However we did sell some items. All jewellery was removed from boxes and gold and silver offer price was based on weight. Nothing for workmanship. Money was by immediate bank transfer.
