I went to we buy cars and bought a car December 2025

Took the car for a test drive and it presented with no issues, there was no petrol in the car and they only gave 5 liters to test the car

There was some minor cosmetics of which i was fine with.

I had the car for about 2 months now and its presented with some major issues to the extend where i was stranded in the middle of a very busy road

And the issues coming up wont be presented in a short test driver.

*Overheating
* Water Pipe bursting
* Thermostat faulty
* Radiator losing water
* And upon further investigation the whole coil pack was damaged
* Spark plug broken off and burned
* Top Gasket blown due to over heating
* Engine light started to go on

I bought a car from We buy Cars that i thought was reliable, now i need to spend in the region of R30 000 to get the car fixed of which i dont have and on top of that the R90 000 of which i bought the car for.

And non of these items was disclosed on the advert neither to me upon purchasing of this vehicle.

They simply saw an opportunity to sell a vehicle and not sit with the hassles and responsibilities of a honest sale

We Buy Cars presented the car as top class, hiding away the problems

Absolutely dishonest beyond words. This bike was for sale for almost 3 months, we followed it, then they put it on auction, NEW Arrival. We drove all the way there, spoke to them, they claimed it cannot be taken off of new arrival auction and sold to us as it just got there. Yet we followed it from day one, Mathew G tried to help us buy it, they just blatantly refused to help us !!!!

I highly advise against purchasing from We Buy Cars. My husband and I bought a car from WBC Midstream in early March, and while our initial experience with the salesperson was great, that’s where the positives ended. We thoroughly checked the car, took it for a test drive, and everything seemed fine. Since we paid in cash, we were encouraged to take a warranty, which we did, and the car was serviced before being shipped to Cape Town.

Three weeks later, when the car arrived at the Epping branch, we waited about 45 minutes for assistance, and the process took over four hours to collect the vehicle. Unfortunately, this turned out to be the least of our issues. On our way home, we noticed the car was emitting heavy smoke and warning lights on the dashboard advised us to stop immediately. We took it back to WBC the next morning.

After a few days, they informed us the car needed another service to address the issues. We received a call about five days later to pick it up. However, when we turned on the engine, it was still smoking, and we discovered a pipe missing from under the hood. It was infuriating to realize this was the second service it had undergone, and no one had ensured the problem was resolved.

Naturally, we were frustrated after being without a car for over a week and relying on Uber. We returned the car and filed a complaint for a refund, as we no longer wanted a faulty vehicle and didn't trust their servicing team. It’s now been almost two weeks, and they informed us last Monday that it needed to be evaluated by RMi again, with management deciding whether we could cancel the transaction.

Keep in mind that we had the car for less than 24 hours, and it was faulty upon receipt. We’ve called over 30 times, and each time they promise to call us back but never do. As of today, they mentioned last Wednesday that the car has been in the workshop and they know the problem, but no decision has been made about our refund. We simply do not want this car, period, and we’ve now been without a vehicle for three weeks. The lack of care from their customer service is appalling; it's the worst experience I've ever encountered.

They sell cars with doggy papers bought a car there tofay spemt over R1000 to go fetch it and paper work is not eveb right numbers dont match up i told them this and they domt care i have all the proof even the numbers on the invoice does not match the car when asking for a refund they give stories car was even smoking had a bad miss fire

⁶On the 10th of January2026 we bought a vehicle on auction from webuy cars (A CASH PAYMENT INTO WEBUYCARS BANK ACCOUNT WAS MADE).
On the 11th we went to the MONTANA BRANCH,PRETORIA TO INSPECT AND COLLECT THE VEHICLE.
After inspection of the vehicle we were happy with it.
The consultant asked us questions from a TABLET and every answer we gave was noted on the tablet and every answer was signed by us on the tablet.
One of the questions was if we would like webuycars to register the vehicle.
Our answer was NO and once again we signed on the tablet.
Before leaving we asked for the vehicles papers and was told to go to their counters near the kiosk.
We were informed by webuycars staff that the registrations papers is not available seeing that they dont have it and are still waiting for it to be send to them from somewhere and they will notify us within 7 to 14 days to collect it.
We were not happy with this informations and went to the reception counter.
The same story was told except that they can send us the papers via POSTNET.

So we left and waited.
A few days later we started receiving emails from webuycars informing us that they are not able to register the vehicle on the person that paid for it via Capitec bank because the person is not registered on the taffic NATIS system.
We told them that we did not ask for registration and told them not to do it a per noted on the tablet and confirmed it with a signature.
In a sworn statement the buyer gave the new owners name in which the registration will be done and thats why we waited for the papers they said we can collect.
They also refused to register the vehicle in the given information of the new owner and said that after 21 days they will register the vehicle as buyer unknown. If this happens wrong information will be given to TRAFFIC AUTHORITIES seeing that they do have all the information and by doing this a crime will be commited.
So we are waiting for the outcome after the 2 days.
If they register the vehicle as buyer unknown , a criminal case will be opened by us at the nearest police station MONTANA ,PRETORIA.)
This complaint was also rgistered at miosa ombudsman today.
Today we are on day 19 after collecting the vehicle and nothing has been done by webuycars.
Had we received the registration papers as told by webuycars staff the vehicle would have already been registered and roadworthy certificate admitted.

I'm grateful for the Service i got from Blessing at we buy Cars Springfield.He was very polite and information he gave me was helpful.

I wanted to sell my car, a Toyota urban cruiser XR that i bought brand new. However the assessor from webuycars lied in the report that my car had high quality repairs done after an accident. I asked them to show me where on the car this was repaired and they couldn’t answer. This is a scam by them so that they pay you a low amount. Obviously I did not take their low offer and will not sell a car to them again due to their dishonesty

Bakkie gave injector problems and tried the salesman and gave us a red shoulder did it ourselves month later the bakkie overheated and has been like that since. Haven't had the good experience from them since and their team

Criminal organisation that leagaly robbing the people of South Africa. Gouverment pls shut it down!

I would love to give 0 here but have to do 1. Stay away if selling your car. Unethical and just disgusting. They assess a situation and try rip you off completely.

I was overseas and so a lot of arrangements had to be made. They provided an initial offer which I found fare. But needed to sort a few things before the sale. They were aware of this. And so getting car registered in Cape Town from Gauteng. Sorting out car fines. And a few small things. The delay was long and they had to redo the offer (which they were obviously aware of). My car had not moved due to travel and so on the day I replaced the battery for 2k. New offer they had dropped their price by R15 000. Presuming I would be desperate to sell. I find this sort of tactic immensely disgusting. No reason for the change in price. Claim of new damage to the car. When in fact it has not moved. They have a fulls script it seems on how to speak to you in this process and I found it just repulsive. For a company that I heard positive things about it is completely erased. Avoid.

Lots of cars to choose from on-site especially in Springfield durban but I feel like the cars on the app are not all the cars in your showroom it's safer to physically go there

Terrible experience I waited over 11 days for my car almost 2 weeks and it was coming 3hrs away. The manager at the PE branch has no customer service skills whatsoever and the finance person was the same and explained nothing. I logged a complaint online and I’m still waiting over a week later for a mail or call. I phoned twice and I wasn’t assisted.

Don’t buy from WE BUY CARS save your money.

We bought a Renault Kwid from We Buy Cars Nelspruit. The condition report said the car was serviced and everything was fine. It also said not dents or scratches. When we received the car, the car had a big dent as well as scratches. The brakes were finished and we had to replace it. The battery in the car was not even a car battery but a motorcycle battery!! We buy cars are full of lies and frauds. I will advise everyone that your service are poor and full of lies. Don't ever trust We buy cars!!!!! Will never buy from you again. The service as Nelspruit branch were horrible as well, we had to follow up constantly just to find out what was going on with our car. Horrible sale!!!

Stay away from we buy cars. Don't purchase from them. They are the biggest liars and will sell you a Cat A car but you shall soon come to know it's a lemon. They will not assist and will look for all loopholes. They are the most dishonest company to deal with. Dont waste your hard earned money to buy anything from them not even a pen.

I bought the car on 20 September 2025 at Gqeberha, under the sales person Charleston Ruiters. I have been asking him to send me the documents and number plate arrangement, I tried to call him and send him WhatsApp numerous occasions for these documents, however we keep on saying he will get back to me. I phoned head-offices their said I must phone him to do an arrangement. I tried to send him whatsapp again today 20 October 2025. As usually he said, he will do a follow-up. We buy cars is the good Company, I can always recommend someone to purchase a car from them. I already bought 3 cars under them, I never had any experience with any of their cars. This is my first experience ever and I'm frustrated. The people like Charleston Ruiters are the one who make the Company looks bad. I wish we Buy Cars get people who are dedicated to put the customer's needs first.
