Clearance Bath Damaged by West One Bathrooms and We Were Expected to Pay to Replace It
I found West One Bathrooms online while searching for a replacement bath after a flood in our home. Their clearance section listed a bath described as a cancelled customer order, and I was pleased to receive prompt and helpful service from a Wadsworth colleague who assisted with sourcing accessories. Once we agreed on the price, I paid the invoice in full.
The very next day, I was informed that the bath had been damaged in the warehouse. I was told West One could source a replacement, but only if I paid an additional £228. When I asked why their insurance wouldn’t cover the damage, I was then told the bath had actually been a showroom display and was damaged during removal.
This was deeply disappointing. I had purchased the item in good faith, believing it to be a customer return in original packaging. I reviewed West One’s own Terms & Conditions, which clearly state that the contract is binding once payment is made. I requested that the bath be replaced at their expense, given that the damage occurred while still in their possession.
After 24 hours, I received a final response: West One would not replace the bath and would issue a refund. No further discussion.
I’m now left without a bath, and sourcing a replacement elsewhere will cost significantly more. This experience reflects a lack of accountability and integrity from a company I initially trusted. A refund may resolve their side of the transaction but it doesn’t resolve mine.
Update: partial refund was recieved 5 days later. When I chased the remaining £60, I was met with radio silence. After 48 hours I called the showroom, to be rushed off the phone with a promise to look into the situation. Amazingly within 5 minutes I had an email advising the payment had been chased. However, what really was the icing on the cake was the lack of apology. It would appear West One Bathrooms customer service only exists when things go well. When they have your money and are delivering a service. When they cannot meet their obligations, stated in their own T&Cs, your nothing but an inconvenience.
My advice to the owner and senior management.....integrity means doing the right thing, even when it costs. It is also the most valuable USP.

We worked with West One Bathrooms and Yessica at their Chelsea showroom. They helped us with four bathrooms, supplying all of the fixtures and fittings.

Yessica was a delight to work with - she took great care in helping to design each room, and selecting parts that fitted our design and budget specifications. She was extremely responsive, especially when issues/questions inevitably came up when our plumber was installing everything. Their warehouse was also great - they always delivered on time, and even expedited sending us some parts that we urgently needed.

We were very happy with what they did for us and would certainly recommend them.

The Sales and Design Consultant provided thoughtful special options maximising the space, which has resulted in the bathroom feeling open and airy. She supported our product choices and recommended more suitable designs when constraints limited our preferences. She also liaised with the installation team to ensure just-in-time delivery of all items so that our home was not overwhelmed with boxed bathroom fittings. The result is a fabulous, streamlined, efficient and easy to clean bathroom with a special, relaxed sanctuary feel.

I literally could not recommend a company more highly. We are over the moon about our new bathroom. Susan at West One was a brilliant designer and made the whole thing painless and sourcing great tiles, sink, WC and bath and then ordering them so they arrived in perfect time and figuring out the perfect layout and design. Working in tandem with London Bathroom installations who did the fitting - who are really wonderful - I can honestly say we had the best experience and now have a gorgeous bathroom.

Louise at Tunbridge Wells was brilliant. I called into the store having done a little research online. I’d tried a couple of other retailers but to no avail. Then I met Louise who was knowledgeable and confident in recommending products. Following an hour’s meeting in store I have sourced 3 bathrooms through Louise. Most of our communication was by phone or email and Louise was super speedy in responding, sending images and re quoting when needed. I’m looking forward to seeing the bathrooms in situ. Thank you

Robert Spry went the extra mile locating parts, and just proved to me how you cannot beat a salesperson who not only knows their market but is prepared to solve problems rather than just chasing commissions. We had an outstanding experience from start to finish with Kirsten the designer at West One Bathrooms. Our four bathrooms were in major need of a facelift and a friend recommended ‘London bathroom installations’ who work closely with Kirsten.After the initial visit to my home to take some measurements, photos and observe the style of our house, we then met in the showroom a couple of times and over the course of several hours Kirsten pieced together every single aspect of our four new bathrooms, floor/wall tiles, toilets, basins, showers, shower doors, taps, accessories etc.She listened carefully and took on board my sense of flamboyant style and love for colour whilst maximising storage space and creating a calm environment within each bathroom.The guys who installed the bathrooms were the best workmen we’ve ever seen and we are absolutely delighted with the finished product.The standard of finish is top class and we now have four luxurious, calm and characterful spaces whilst also being practical and suited to our needs as a family of five.Kirsten really listens to her client and has an incredible vision.I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.

She helped us play around with layout and colours at the consultations and we really enjoyed the process. The company were also really responsive to our email enquiries. Lily from West One Battersea showroom was absolutely amazing! She dedicated a lot of time to us, from coming up with the right design, based on what we wanted, and all the way through to selecting the right brands and appliances. She was very prompt in her communication, keeping us posted about every detail of the delivery timings and managing these really well, so we have everything on time as expected - we had no issues with missing parts etc, her attention to detail is amazing. I ordered two bathrooms through West One Bathrooms. I had a good experience. Ali in particular was excellent - very knowledgeable and helpful. You don't get good customer service very often anymore sadly but Ali made the experience easy and enjoyable.
