The administration and staff running this program seem more focused on charging extra fees than providing genuine support. If you try to leave, they make the process unnecessarily difficult—it almost feels like a scam. They consistently find ways to squeeze more money out of you. Highly disappointing and frustrating.

I’ve started my Aupair’s process with aupair in America about a year ago and had an amazing experience, they were with me every step of the way until I got to the host family house. I enjoyed the orientation in New York a lot and met amazing people during and at cluster meetings. APIA is a very good agency and is there for you all the way no matter what!

I went through the whole process with them, and I couldn't be happier with the experience – especially thanks to Gaia! She supported me every step of the way, always kind, patient, and ready to help with any doubts or give useful advice. I really felt guided and cared for throughout the entire journey. Anytime i had enquires, Sereen was quick to reply and always answered all my questions with a lot of detail. Sereen had great communicate.

My profile was archived and I was told to contact someone for help,which I did. I had all the documents I was still putting together.Only to be told that I can not continue with the application unless I have a host family. I'm from Kenya. It does not make sense because the sole reason for this platform is to match the aupair to the host families.Meanwhile my friends from Kenya are in the site and uploading documents for matching. It's not fair.

Our experience with Au Pair in America has been deeply frustrating and disappointing. We relied on this agency to provide accurate, reliable guidance—especially when it came to something as significant as international travel with our au pair. We were told directly and clearly, on multiple occasions, that our au pair was cleared to travel with us on a cruise. We booked the trip in good faith, trusting the word of their representative.

Only after making travel plans and incurring substantial costs did we find out that this information was incorrect. The agency has since refused to take any accountability, citing technicalities and fine print, and completely dismissing the fact that their own staff gave us verbal confirmation that influenced our decisions.

This isn’t just about a mistake—it’s about the complete lack of responsibility and support when that mistake impacted our family’s time, money, and trust. What’s most concerning is the agency’s unwillingness to stand behind the advice their representatives give. If you’re a family considering this program, be warned: you must question everything, document every conversation, and know that even clear verbal confirmation from their staff means nothing if it goes wrong.

This has been a painful and expensive lesson. I would urge others to proceed with extreme caution.

AuPair In America è l’agenzia che mi sento di consigliare a qualsiasi persona voglia fare questa esperienza, a mani basse. Fin dal primo momento sono stati tutti disponibilissimi, hanno risposto a qualsiasi domanda io avessi e sono sempre stati di grandissimo aiuto. My experience overall has been great I am still an aupair but I have enjoyed every part of it, the staff is amazing and the job itself is amazing!!

The program itself it great. Coming from Canada, it was extremely easy to get my visa and everyone I’ve worked with has been great! The experience has been incredible and I love my placement and I got very lucky with my host family. From my agent in Canada to my community counsellor everyone has been so helpful and resourceful. This program has been running for decades now and I think it shows through how structured the program is, however, I think there’s always room for improvement so if I could give feedback I would say that the minimum stipend should be raised, although I get paid more than the minimum I hear many other Au Pairs don’t and especially living in upper classes parts of America it can be very expensive.

Ho partecipato a questa esperienza con au pair in America un po' di tempo fa ed è stato l'anno più bello della mia vita. I was an Au Pair in 2013/2014 and even after 11 years I‘m still in contact with my hostfamily. I recommend Au Pair in America because they are always there for you! It didn‘t matter at what point in the process I was, they helped me to find my perfect family! Even when in the U.S. I always had someone to reach out to that worked at Au Pair in America!

We have had a profoundly disappointing experience with Au-Pair in America and cannot recommend their services. Unfortunately, we encountered numerous lies and a lack of transparency throughout the process. It seems that no thorough investigation is conducted regarding issues that arise, leaving us feeling unheard and unsupported.

The staff, in our opinion, display a troubling indifference towards host families. When we raised our concerns to management, it was disheartening to see a clear lack of follow-through on their part. This experience has left us feeling frustrated and disillusioned. We encourage potential host families to carefully consider their options before engaging with this agency.

I’ve been in the US with Aupair in America for almost two years and I’ve been loving this experience so much. I would always go to the USA with Aupair in America! Best agency
