I give 3 stars because I think that the swim pool for the baby lessons it should be warmer the kids are freezing and shaking after 10 minutes .

King's Hall - a beautiful place to swim, but needs a lick of paint
King's Hall, or Hackney baths as was, is a beautiful old pool with amazing period details, and is usually not heavingly busy, so I had a lovely peaceful swim there.
It's ideal for those who don't like the cold, as the water is as warm as soup! The changing rooms are spacious, though be aware the the showers are communal - no separate M and F.
My only criticism of the place is that it could really do with a refurb. Paint is peeling and the ironwork looks rusty, and it's such a shame that light in from the skylight is blocked out, giving it the air of a gloomy shed when it could offer a beautifully sun-kissed morning swim like Kentish Town or Marshall Street

Better provides great services for communities, especially the services aimed to those people for whom sports activities are/or were not life priorities. People who are referred under Better and NHS agreement, or other health related institutions, schools, community groups, and similar. It is joyous to see all sorts of people and age groups engaging here in Better centers in various sports activities. Not less important to say, with very friendly and helpful staff, and at affordable prices.
I am a member now pushing three years, at the beginning referred by the NHS.

Need refurbish
My recently visited the leisure centre and was left underwhelmed. While the staff were friendly and attentive, the environment was a major letdown.
The toilets were in dire need of repair, with broken fixtures and a general air of neglect. The changing area was particularly unpleasant, with a strong smell of urine that lingered throughout my visit.
It's a shame, as I had been looking forward to enjoy my swimming lessons experience. However, the poor state of the facilities made it difficult for me to fully unwind.
I hope the management takes steps to address these issues, as a cleaner and better-maintained environment would greatly improve the overall

I have noticed significant improvements…
I have noticed significant improvements at Better Gym Kings Hall. The centre has effectively responded to my previous feedback regarding opening times, making it much more convenient for members. The gym is now noticeably cleaner; new equipment has enhanced the overall experience. The staff are much more welcoming and engaging, creating a friendly atmosphere that makes it a pleasure to use the gym again. These positive changes have become particularly evident since AJ took over. She is very visible and approachable, regularly walking around the gym to connect with members. AJ leads by example, always putting equipment back and discussing safety with everyone. I’m really pleased that the management has taken my feedback on board my feedback, and I feel a renewed enjoyment in going to this gym. Highly recommended.

Dull, dingy, dirty & depressing
Honestly wouldn't come back here.
I paid for a membership for my son to do swimming lessons. The whole place smelled really bad. Changing rooms & toilets were very filthy. I felt very uncomfortable being in there as I couldnt take the smell and unsanitary conditions.
I'm not sure how often any cleaning is done but it should be done consistently throughout the day, particularly at busy times to avoid spread of infections. This is a basic requirement not a luxury.
On the website it states 30 minute sessions for the swimming but in reality you only get 15 minutes. I can understand they need to give children time to get out the pool & get the next group in but this could have been stated on the website that you are only really getting 15 minutes swimming time not 30 minutes. It was like a conveyor belt just in and out the staff is not at fault for this but how the system is set up by Better.
Very small waiting area with not much chairs so a lot of parents were standing & also seen a couple sitting on the floor.
The one star I've given is for the polite & helpful reception staff.
I am in no hurry to go back there again so I've booked elsewhere for my son which hopefully will be a lot 'better'.

I decided to give this pool a try as they do women’s only sessions. By far the worst pool I have ever been to, the changing rooms stink and the pool itself is disgusting. I’ve never experienced anything like this and wasn’t even able to finish my full session as I had to get out of there.

Sauna awful
Went to the sauna the receptionist gave us the wrong code to get in. So had to go back to reception wasting our time. When the door opens to sauna terrible smell was not clean at all and so old. This should be closed down and not charging people to get in. So small sauna and steam room only 1 shower had hot water. Would not recommend or return. Couldn't get the smell away from me even when I returned home awful.
