Negative 5 star review. Open an account, next day I go activate my debit card I forgot my pin number, ask the teller for help, I'm a customer on the second day, and asked for service instead I was treated like a husband of 30 years, argue in the bank over a pin number, no help was offered. Since I had to leave that debit card behind I tried to order a new one, the bank couldn't even copy my home address correctly five more day wait because of the address glitch,check was going to clear in two days,so why not close the account due to very poor service and they charged me $50 for the poor treatment as a customer. Beware of Banks with this many irregularities in a short amount of time, total time I didn't have access to my money, estimates are over 21 days closer to a month of the poorest service of a bank in my 70 years on planet earth. You have been WARNED!

OMG, never in my life have I dealt with more difficult customer service! I needed to update my phone number and now I can’t access my account online without a notarized statement submitted by certified mail! I’m locked out of the online account because I didn’t know the make, model, date of purchase, and dealership I purchased the RV from. I found the paperwork but since I didn’t know the information when originally asked, they would no longer accept the information from me. I’m in the process of refinancing at my local Credit Union.

I'd give zero stars if possible. On December 23rd I mobile deposited a cashier's check from Associated Bank for $9449.42 into my account at BMO bank. They cashed it and the next day restricted my account claiming that the check was fraudulent. Cashier's checks are fully guaranteed as the money is already paid. So how was it fraudulent?

Unfortunately I was hospitalized for a few weeks and didn't realize that BMO had closed my account and put the money in a "unclaimed funds account "

Despite multiple calls to their fraud department and to Associated bank fraud department as well as a few trips to both banks BMO is STILL withholding my inheritance money. This is very unethical and unprofessional as well as bank fraud and THEFT.
I don't recommend BMO bank to anyone unless they want to get ripped off.

Please I mean please anybody that wants to consider this bank do not open an account here because they will keep your money and act as if they send the check out. Also they will tell you to go to the bank and they don't have any management available and they claim that because this accounts are closed the only way to get into this account is by management and they don't have one available.DONOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT!!!! BE CAREFUL!!! STAY AWAY!!!

BMO stopped and independant loan (BMO never helped on small loans) from processing by calling it a fraud.
I did not get a chance to see for myself as they froze the account, then closed it due to "fraud" which was out of my control or knowledge.
The loan may have been legit had they left it alone? They could have worked with me to verify...
Poor service, no respect for long term customer of tens years plus.

We pay $15 a month for "online business banking" which should offer us the ability to do our own online ACH and wire payments. What they don't tell you is it takes hours to start, and they don't provide all the tools you need to complete them. (Access codes or passcodes) No support, full voicemail mailboxes, no response to email pleas for help. Now our payment is late.

HORRIBLY MANAGED BANK. They returned my check as "account closed" when it was in fact open & funds were available & I got late fees. they did this twice!! When I tried to resolve it they have reps answering in Guatamala who don't do anything & barely speak English.

I opened an account over the phone. I funded it ($30 by bank transfer) and waited 4 weeks for a debit card to arrive.
I called and they couldn’t verify me and would give me no information.
I was emailed a form to fill out which had to be notarized. I refuse to do that.
It’s easier to just write off the $30.

I got a car loan with these guys and had it for nearly 5 years. I was paying extra money every month for years, and then they contacted me towards the end of the loan, and said, well you have to let us know what to do with that extra payment you send every month. They said we don't just put it up towards your principal we extend your next month's payment. I'd never heard that before. That extra amount would have eliminated a year off of my loan you can imagine how shocked I was. Also their website looks like it was made up 15 years ago. It looks like something that somebody in high school did. It's worthless, you can't get around anywhere, you can't find anything, it is the most backwards banking website I have ever seen in my life. You would think it was some little hillbilly Bank. instead of a multi-billion dollar company

Pathetic. They are hacks trying to find ways to get extra money from either late charges or overdraft fees.

My frontier bill says paid. MY account balance is 0. MY BMO harris account balance is what it is. So i figure with money I have left in my bank account and the only bill I had was frontier. Well Ill go ahead and get some groceries. NOPE. Dont do it. Even though obviously frontier has communicated with my bank and they are getting their bill paid. They still have yet to actually take it from my account. This is where BMO hopes you use too much money and get that over draft fee. This bank is absolutely pathetic. Be on your P's and Q's with these people. They will set you up every chance they get.

Worse experience I've ever had in 40 years of banking. I had a car loan through them and I will never ever do that again. Their website looks like something that was made by a high schooler 10 years ago. You can't get any information, it's such a backwards site and trying to find certain things such as upcoming payments took me 25 minutes to find. It's just a joke and I know websites, I have developed them. When I needed customer service, I got somebody from the Philippines who could barely speak English. If you pay extra towards your loan, they automatically extend your next month's payment instead of applying the extra amount towards your actual loan amount. They had never stated that. It was just the worst thing I ever went through. I could go on about other issues, but I'm not going to waste my time

I had the worst experience imaginable with BMO. I opened an account online and deposited $25. Two days later, they claimed my identification failed and told me I had to visit a branch in person to verify and the nearest one is 4-5 hours away.
I called and sent my ID documents via email to resolve the issue reasonably, but they refused to help, closed my account immediately, and to make matters worse supervisor told me they would NOT return my $25 deposit because they couldn't 'verify' me. Supervisor was very RUDE! and with an angry voice, she just greeted me with just say hi and waited for me to speak. This is essentially theft. They were happy to take my money without 'verification,' but suddenly can't verify me when it’s time to give it back. Avoid this bank at all costs if you value your time and your money!

A personal check written by a client that wrote the actual company name on the check was rejected because the client didn't include the DBA name as well.

My replacement debit card went astray somewhere in the mail. Phoned BMO to get a new debit card issued, and heard that it had to be a new card number. Understandable but inconvenient due to various automatic payments using the debit card number. - Asked specifically if my existing card was still good to expiry at end of month. They said yes: WRONG it started bouncing immediately. - UNTRAINED phone assistants.

Poor customer service on the phone and in the branch also the online accou nt has many issues stay away

I had been with Harris Bank since 2013, a more pathetic outfit would be hard to find.
Staff and branch management are consistently over that time poorly trained, rude, product knowledge is shocking, their procedures and processes belong in the past.
Adding a name to my LLC took 5 visits and seven hours to conclude and at that it’s still not done, their back office has to process it now.
Interests rates on business deposits are pathetic.
$10 charge to use their atm card at a non Harris location, guess what…that is most places.
I cannot recommend them in any way, if you have an issue they will screw it up.

Every single transaction here is fraught with staff who are belligerent and rude, managers who lie and bluster, and a general lack of ANY sense of customer service. I have actually had a teller tell me to bank elsewhere and not come back. This is the worst bank ever for getting anything accomplished or even getting heard. Had to call in my lawyer three times to email their legal counsel to have them "straighten" out the local branches. And btw, when you drop of a death certificate as the executive of a will, they don't record it EVER and won't accept legal documents that you are the executor at all.

Worst mobile banking ever. Web team at BMO is incapable of handling customers seeking protection on their end of the transaction, like vpn with persistent ip address. This has been persistent now for a month or two. Calling in for help goes nowhere. I bank with other banks, vpn? not a problem. Pay all bills online with vpn, not a problem. Maybe BMO management should consider a tech team with modern required skills.

Had a checking account and a line of credit.
Both were a nightmare, stay away from this bank.
