The removal team were extremely…
The removal team were extremely punctual and polite. After my belongings had been packed, ready to be shipped to Barbados, I was shocked that I had to pay for weeks of storage waiting for a shipping date. It took 13 weeks for my door to door service. I have used other shipping companies in the past, when delivery has only taken 6 weeks, therefore avoiding expensive storage charges. When my belongings arrived, I was extremely disappointed with the amount of unnecessary packing paper used, this wasted valuable space, therefore meant that some of my belongings could not fit in the container. I found the experience very lengthy and after paying a lot of unforseen expenses, far too costly. I would not recommend Bourne and I will not use them again.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, the hold-up with Barbados Customs was beyond our control, and we weren’t able to proceed until clearance was granted. Based on this, they send a single postcard on our behalf to introduce our company. This process is fully compliant with GDPR, but we completely understand that not everyone wishes to receive marketing of this kind and apologise that receiving our postcard has upset you.

Last minute saviours
Came in the last minute after we were let down by the previous company. The removal team were extremely professional, polite and patient both loading and unloading could not have asked for anything better. Would highly recommend them.

The absolute worst customer service
The absolute worst customer service. I had a call scheduled with them to discuss my move, Andy Greaves totally ghosted me. I reached out to him and he said he had a hard stop, then why were you scheduled to talk to me? Then I receive a message after being asked to fill out all my info, only to be told they were full. I got in touch with someone else at the company, then they told me I could ship and they had availability. The poor guy Andy in sales, the worst person to be working in customer service and sales. The guy needs to adjust his attitude and learn to reach out to someone, that’s your job. I don’t care if you have a hard stop (which was his excuse), reach out to the person you’re working with and reschedule appropriately. What a terrible person to have representing your company.

End to end perfect
From the first phone call through to the end delivery Bournes were amazing. Julia was thorough and so helpful, whilst both teams that removed us and delivered to our new home were not just professional but really nice guys. Took the stress out of a stressful time and would highly recommend.

If I could give 0 starts I would...
If I could give 0 starts I would...so unprofessional I have no words. We called to book them almost a month before our move date, they confirmed they have a slot available for us to move on that day. In few days they finally sent us an estimate and we have booked the virtual walk through so they can give us an official quote. The virtual walk was set up over a week after, so it's been already almost a two weeks process to this point. After that, we have waited another 3 days to get a quote that was more than triple what they estimated...crazy, and also unprofessional. I've called them same day but our case agent Marilyn Webster wasn't even in the office so they couldn't help me. I've emailed and waited another day. Next day I got an email from her asking if we have some flexibility with the date because they are super busy...which was weird because we have already agreed on the date but I called right away to discuss. It turned out our date is no longer available and the only date they have is a week earlier, so I agreed to that only to get an email after we hung up that unfortunately while we were on the phone someone else has booked it...now they only have dates available a week after we need to exit our rental so of course not possible for us. The whole situation is so ridiculous I don't even comprehend...I don't know if this Marilyn is so clueless about her job or just stupid...probably both but she is a Senior Account Manager so be aware... The whole process of moving from rental to first buy is stressful enough in London, with all the paper work needed and stuff to be sort out - you would think booking a "worry free" moving company would give you a break, but then it turns out they don't know how to use calendar...well, thinking is hard, especially if you don't own a brain - hire smarter people Bournes.

We do our best to provide accurate ranges in initial conversations, but sometimes these can change as we gain a clearer understanding of individual circumstances which is why we do the pre-move survey before providing our quotation so that it is accurate and clear up front before anything is agreed. Unfortunately, we’re also unable to hold move dates without a confirmed booking, however we're sorry if this wasn’t clearly explained. That said, we will review this case internally to see where we can improve communication, processes, and help avoid similar experiences in future.
We also want to take this opportunity to express our support for our team. Marilyn has been with us for over 13 years and is a valued member of our staff, consistently praised for her professionalism and care. While it’s clear this situation has been frustrating and there may be lessons to learn, personal insults are not something we feel are fair or helpful.
