Abysmal communication and lack of professionalism left me homeless (with a 5-year-old!!)
After initially finding an ideal property and move in date. And despite repeated pressure for me to get my paperwork finalised for the property, they then failed to ensure the previous tenant vacated by the confirmed move-in date. This left myself and, more importantly, my 5-year-old daughter homeless -they were aware I would be left in this situation if not in the property upon the agreed date.
Throughout the ordeal, communication has been nonexistent. Calls are constantly ignored, passed around, updates were nonexistent, and the team, especially Megan, was condescending and dismissive. Although claiming behind the scenes she is tirelessly trying to find a resolution for me. I later found out, although my proposed move was on a Monday, the tenant wasn’t made aware of the implications caused until midweek.
The holding deposit process was a mess -rushed, lacking a receipt even though requested numerous times, by multiple staff members. Then a lengthy refund process of 3-5 days, even given the situation they left me in, causing further financial strain.
The only “support” offered was storing my daughter’s bed (which arrived at the property I was meant to be living in!) -completely useless and almost comical, given the location of the estate agents and that I have current ligament damage and am in a boot, so would be unable to manage this.
Since returning my deposit and getting me out of their hair, Brown and Merry have provided no updates on the property, checked in, nor assisted once in finding alternative properties. Megan just constantly claims she is on visits or annual leave.
This experience was beyond stressful and left us vulnerable. A complete lack of communication, professionalism and overall disregard for any well-being make them an agency to avoid at ALL costs.

i registered with brown and merry over a year ago and i am more than satisfied with the service i have received from them , the examples are to follow , the agent who was allocated to evaluate and place my property on the market went the extra mile to support me through that process , he was very understanding when i told him how dissatisfied i was with the very poor service i received from the tour operates Leger after i had returned home from a Christmas and new break . Brown and merry also allocated a solicitor juno who they are partnered with to deal with the legal side of my property sale which saved me all the hassle of finding my own independent solicitor online which would have been very challenging for me because i have a condition which effects my communication and sensory processing skills . I visit the watford branch of brown and merry where i am based every Wednesday afternoon to have a one to one session with my agent who A helps me convey essential information to Juno online , ie the date my boiler was serviced , the location of my water metre , the date of a fire safety check took place , and the i needed to officially declare the date's i had essential services carried out on my property . There are several branches of brown and merry in Glasgow entitled Alan and Harris where i am intending to relocate to who will help find a future property for me , meanwhile my agent browses through all the one bedroom flat property's in west end area of Glasgow with me online to save me the hassle of doing a property search all on my a task which i have no previous experience in , My agent has also taken a lot of time and effort to locate a removal firm in Glasgow called Pickfords who will both store my furniture during the transient period and move it to my address . i have not been required to do anything regarding the sale of my old property and purchasing a new one on my own volition thanks to the marvellous work of Brown and Merry !!they are miricel workers and life savers ,,!! they have even arranged to book me into a hotel during the transition period while my rented accommodation is being sorted out . so i give brown and merry an A double a starred and they definitely deserve a ten out of ten .

The team at Berkhamsted provided a tramendous service from start to finish. We bought and then sold the house through Brown & Mary. Amir and Lucy are a fantastic team

Most incompetent agency we've ever worked with. They've managed or book ZERO viewings for our house in 2 month. This speaks for itself.

The worst estate agents I have ever come across. Abysmal customer service and unprofessional ‘agents’.

Have been dealing with Brown & Merry in Newport Pagnell for some time now and have always been pleased with the service. Both Matt and Lydia are great people, who with the hiccups I have had, through no fault of theirs, have always been positive and kept me going (and sane!!) Lydia is always very helpful, friendly and keeps me up to date. Also a shout out to Audrey who has been there for a long time and always lovely when I speak to her. Thank you all for your help.

Would not recommend to anyone, in fact would recommend to stay clear! Poor experience and unprofessional staff. Just look at ALL the other 1 star reviews, they all have a common theme… go else where.

The lettings team at Tring, Joanne, Ellie and Emily, have again been brilliant in finding good tenants in record time once my rental flat became vacant. They never fail.

2nd time with dealing with the Newport Pagnell branch and i can honestly say the service has been excellent.
Initially dealing with Matt the manager and then Lydia, i found her really pro active and great to deal with and that's coming from a self confessed control freak, so i have a tendency to micro manage the process but wasn't necessary. The sale hasn't exchanged or completed so this isn't an after glow relief review but if it fails it certainly won't be the fault of the agents.

We contacted brown & merry through there wendover branch based in buckinghamshire.
They arranged a viewing very polite and knowledgeable lady. Property was lovely just what we wanted. Then they informed us it was being sold through an auction by Iam sold.This is where the problems started. Having never purchased a property by auction before they put me in contact with iam sold who agreed a price with the seller I then put down a non refundable deposit which was a massive mistake. Unfortunately the sale could not be completed because of problems with the lease and we lost our deposit. I must add I done all my research and had a mortgage agreed in principle.
So although it’s not all brown & meets fault. They should not deal with this dodgy auction company and any who gets advice to by property through an auction site please take my advice and go through normal channels.

I used Brown & Merry Hemel Hempstead branch and spoke with Eliot and Stephen. From the very first contact I had with Eliot I was pleasantly surprised of how informative he has been with communications. I felt I was a valued customer to them. I noticed property and contacted Brown & Merry and everything was smooth running from there. All the staff I spoke with were polite and professional. Eliot phoned me back when he said he would. He was also able to squeeze me in to view properties at short notice, which I was very pleased with. It is stressful, looking for a new property to move into, and I felt that Stephen was very informative with every property showed me. All my questions are answered, and if he didn’t know the answer, he got back to me. I had to nip into the branch to sign the paperwork and receive the keys and Eliot and Stephen could not have been more helpful with helping me navigate around the process of renting. Any questions I had was investigated before responding back to me, which made me feel confident with the company. I’ve been in the property over a month now, and I am very happy with my decision. I’ve had no surprises since moving in regarding misinformation. I could not recommend this branch more. Thank you guys.

I am unfortunate enough to have Brown and Merrys letting tenants as my neighbours. For over a year they have been making my life a misery with noise , aggression , anti social behaviour, shouting , down slamming and arguments on a daily basis. I have no peace and no quiet and absolutely no support from the lettings agents. They do nothing and they appear to value the measly 10-11% of a 2 bed rent in tring (£100 tops ) above any owner. Perhaps they are as intimidated by the tenant as others in my road are but it is their job to deal with nuisance noise and breaches of tenancy. They do nothing and rarely acknowledge my emails. I’m a pretty easy going human but this is so irresponsible to others that Brown and Merry get 1 star ONLY because I have to give it to them.
Beware moving into any property , as owner or tenant , that has any Brown and Merry tenants nearby that could impact your life. Exercise caution if they are involved as they truly care about no one but their commission.

I don't normally do reviews but felt that people should be aware that the Hemel Hempstead branch are possibly the worst estate agents I have ever come across little contact rude and didn't tell me the truth on several matters I sat in on several viewings and they didn't have a clue how to sell a property avoid at all cost!!!.

Anthony was a fantastic agent, really personable and took time to show us all the features. Would highly recommend!

Over valued and little contact.

So much contact to get us to sell with them, as soon as we listed the house with them I received loads of marketing calls trying to get us to upgrade the marketing package.
They encouraged us often to drop the price they valued it at. I really believe they give you a great listing price but then always encourage clients to reduce. If you look on rightmove you’ll see lots of there listings reduced. Sarah branch manger French promised calls back but never did. Alex was the only person in branch that was helpful.
I also went with the solicited they recommended and they were also awful, slow and never communicated with us.

I was recommended by a family member to see Gemma- the mortgage advisor-
She was amazing-after my divorce I was new to all this- Gemma helped me through every stage of getting my mortgage and life assurance and explained everything.
Gemma was a pleasure to chat to and answered every question promptly and was always kind and caring and always went out of her way to help me.
