My wife came away with just what she was looking for (which was very specific! hah) - Our salesman, Mirgen, was friendly but professional and took everything my partner told him on board, giving her a comfortable buying experience and finding the right car for her needs. We travelled 2h to Weston and back to a reserved Audi A1 on a Sunday. Unfortunately when we started the car there was a hazard warning on the dash, an engine management light came on during our test drive and there a passenger air bag warning light on. The carbase staff were unable to access the diagnostic reader that would have told us what's wrong with the engine management light because it was the holy day.
You'd think if your job is to sell cars - and we were very ready to buy this car - that you'd check the car works well and there were no warning lights.
Or if the car has issues, you might have the resources to correct it. Bizarre.
Of course it's our choice to drive that far for a car, but is it too much to ask for the sales team to be bothered?

I arrived at Carbase and was greeted by Phil Spence. He was very friendly and attentive to what I was looking for. He helped me in my decision of what car would be best for me.
Phil walked me around the vast amount of cars for sale, I found one that I really liked.. I arranged to come back the next day for a test drive.
The next day I arrived and Phil said he has arranged for another car to be brought up from Weston which will suit me better.
It was the perfect car andI decided to buy it.

Atrocious! Took out extended warranty on the car purchased Feb 26 with part of the reason being the discounted mot as part of it. Was told to book early so did that in August when mot runs out end of Sept. Followed the booking process. No confirmation received that was booked in. Follow up emails - not answered and just ignored. Calls made to confirm - noone picks up or just cut you off. Even called the sales team in hope that they would help but apparently that is too much bother as its " a different line!" The sale of the car couldn't have been handled any better, the after care, or lack of it and ghosting of clients is simply unacceptable! I have booked my car in for mot and service elsewhere now and feel like i have been mis sold the warranty as a result if they can't even be bothered to respond to a booking! AVOID AT ALL COSTS AS CLEARLY ONLY INTERESTED IN TAKING YOUR MONEY FOR A SALE AND NOT FOLLOWING THROUGH ON PROMISES MADE WITH THE WARRANTY!

My partner and I came to the branch late on Sunday. Mirgen (who had previously sold a car to my partner) instantly helped us and created an appointment to get us seen. He was extremely patient with my indecisiveness on choosing a car and was fantastic in negotiating my partner and I the best deal. He went above and beyond for us, even stayed after close to help us. Fantastic service!! My partner and I will definitely be back when the time comes to get new cars again!

Good experience. Joe was very helpful and the car I purchased was in very good condition. Very long process,I ended up spending over 4 hours on site. Overall though a positive experience and I’m very happy with my new car

Phil the salesman who dealt with us was so patient not pushy and treated exactly like a salesman should l, it was really busy but he never got stressed. His experience was also shared with the guy who dealt with all the finance nothing was to much trouble, it’s the 2nd vehicle we have bought from Carbase and will definitely come back again.

The guys at Carbase Lympsham are not just sales colleagues they are reassuring and considerate people. I felt confident and anxious at the same time making a big purchase by myself and the guys were very supportive. I did not feel pressured at any time. From the moment I walked through the door I was not hassled in any way, was offered tea or coffee and offered any keys to cars I would like to look at and left to explore in my own time. I am so pleased with my new car and the aftercare service.

Will at Carbase was brilliant. He was super friendly and has great customer service. He helped me with every question I had to ask. The process was really smooth and simple. They let me test drive the car the day before by myself and I came back the next day and I had the car in my name within the hour. They also gave me same day insurance totally free to give me enough time to get my own sorted. I couldn’t recommend enough. Thanks again.

I purchased a van from the Vanbase side of the company,
On driving down to Cornwall,
One of the side trims with a orange side light came loose,
So I had to stop & find out what was going on,
To my dismay!
I discovered my van had been in an accident that wasn’t disclosed to me,
I was livid having paid out over twenty thousand pounds on a van that wasn’t fit for purpose,
I told them I wanted a full refund within the thirty day window,
I was turned down but offered a repair
Which I had no choice but to accept,
As long as I was updated with photos & progress by email,
I dropped my van off on 4th September on provision it would be ready today 14th September
I rang Saturday to get a progress report
As I hadn’t been kept updated as promised,
They said someone would call me back
Didn’t happen,
This morning I’ve rung Three times still waiting to find out if I can collect my van
My friend has taken a day off,
I’ve since had a call three hours after my first call,,
my van isn’t ready & needs a specialist repair & they are waiting on a quote,
Rather than just getting it done,
There customer service isn’t up to scratch as far as I’m concerned,
I bought my last van from them no issues,
What a shambles they are now as far as I’m concerned,
RAC vehicle checks are not adhered too whatsoever,
If I could give them minus stars it would be a -10,

Arrived with a car in mind. Didn’t need a test drive, don’t need finance just wanted to buy the car via bank transfer. Were told we would have to wait up to 2 hrs despite this. After 2.5hrs waiting and checking numerous times told the car we wanted had been sold, they couldn’t even guarantee anyone would see us to discuss alternatives. By this point it was 4.10 (having arrived at 13.30) no one was willing to see us as it closed at 5pm. Total waste of our day and it was only us checking what was happening that got us to the conclusion we wouldn’t be seen otherwise we clearly would have been left until 5pm and then told. Zero communication. Managers happy to sit behind a desk and not come and discuss with us themselves and send receptionists. Would avoid at all cost. Awful experience, no concept of basic communication.

Just drove 2 and a half hours to pick up a car which I had reserved which I then needed to use to drive to London. Looking around the car I spotted immediately there was a nail in the tyre. Although I understand this can happen the car also wasn’t clean and was presented poorly. They then informed me they couldn’t fix the tyre immediately and to hold the vehicle they wanted me to pay a £500 non refundable deposit! For a car I haven’t even driven! If anything they should have sorted the tyre and held the vehicle until I could actually drive it as a good will gesture. Instead I’ve driven 5 hours to experience crap service, see a dirty car with a nail in the tyre and be asked for a non refundable deposit for a car I intended to drive away today! Absolute joke of a company!
